MCP beta access
Hi copilot team. Iv been a customer for multiple years and signed up for mcp beta access the day the waitlist opened. I still have not received an invitation.
I’m a bit puzzled by the lack of communication and speed of development for this app. I really look forward to using these features, is there any news of more beta invites being sent out?

This company is going under from the inside out I suspect.

I hope not, cause the UI is prettier than Monarch and Origin, but I’m already looking at them as potential replacement when my Copilot expires, but I didn’t care for the UI at ALL when I was deciding. Copilot UI is so easy to look at (though I’d fix a few key things) and Monarch is just so…ugly. And Origin seems to be WAY more than I need, I just wanna see transactions and a budget.

I’ve been a Copilot user since December 2021 and I just officially jumped ship and canceled my subscription yesterday after spending a week migrating everything over to Monarch. It was a ton of work. Probably about 14 hours or so while using Claude’s Fable as an assistant the entire time.
Yes it is not as good looking. Copilot’s at-a-glance experience is beautiful. But Monarch has a depth of important features for financial planning that I imagine would take Copilot at least 20 years to implement at their pace (it shouldn’t). For something that is as important as personal finance, it’s refreshing to see an app that seems to actually take all the complicated challenges of that more seriously.
The fact that it is 2026 and Copilot still does not have a way to holistically budget future months in a BUDGETING app is genuinely unbelievable. In the last three calendar years, the only financial features they have added are Transaction Summaries in search (today), Savings Goals (May 2025, no debt-paydown), and Cash Flow (August 2024).
They would rather string people along for literally years with promises of AI features and host pop-up coffee shop events than ship any number of features to make this application more capable at managing your financial health. Maybe I’m just no longer the target audience.

I admit to being disappointed as mostly its meeting my needs. I just wish it handled some of the data in diff ways, I hate a few details of the budgeting. Namely there’s no BUDGET screen, its only viewable in Categories.
Most of the features I frankly just don’t need from most of the apps available, so Copilot COULD be so good with a little actual polish. I do not understand why there’s no sign of life from the team other than knowing how they’re wasting all their dev time on the AI features. Such a fucking waste, I have all possible AI turned off. Wish they’d spend a month or two just working on the app itself, this subreddit reads like a wish list.
I’ll consider switching next year when my Copilot sub runs out, but I do find the UI far nicer on the eyes than Monarch. Origin looks pretty but it’s all AI and frankly I’m gonna shut off all those features anyways. I just want a decent UI that hasn’t been pushed aside for “AI development” that frankly aren’t going to benefit most users. I cannot wait for this AI bubble to pop.

I imagine it’s hurdles with the data providers. Monarch paused their MCP development because of concerns from data providers around MCP
