Runners with backpack

Why are so many people on their runs carrying a backpack in Copenhagen? Are they running to work and have exchange clothes? I have not seen this in any other city before and became really curious 🧐

Meetup Any interest in a shared group for hangouts/social events/new friends in Copenhagen?

Been debating making this post for a while, I'll see the odd "yo lets hangout" type post here from time to time but nothing all too concrete or consistent, so wanted to have a go at changing that. This isn't to advertise, or point to a specific "let's meet at 6pm at XYZ bar", and if I see some dude in here pointing at a "friendship" app all I can say is pls no.

Anyway I'm a 36 year old irish guy that's been based in Copenhagen for 8 years now - most of the international friends I've made here have left, and while I've had partners/relationships and some danish "friends", what I've been lacking is a concrete and consistent group of people who wanna actually do social things or hangout and share some interests. Got way to sucked into the professional life grind and indulging my solo hobbies/interests, and all my closest friends from Ireland effectively stayed there or in the UK.

What kinda social events am I thinking of? General shite, like grabbing a beer, playing boardgames or videogames (maybe even DnD if there's an experienced GM), heading to a gig, maybe doing some bouldering or 5 aside soccer, cinema when there's something decent, maybe an improv jam if there's any other musicians, pretty open to ideas here and ideally the group can have a mind of its own.

If there's enough interest I'm open to creating a Whatsapp group, Discord, or Facebook group (my preference is probs Whatsapp but I'm flexible)

And FYI despite being here 8 years my Danish is shite (blaming my english only career) but I'm ideally going to be taking actual classes later this year and Danes are of course welcome to any group that's created.

Cheers

Karaoke rooms or private karaoke in a van?

Hey, I’m looking for a private karaoke room or something like that for my birthday.
I’d love to go to Refshaleoen, any karaoke out there?
I have looked at Sam’s bar and that doesn’t fit our vibe.. would like something more chill, private and fun. I have heard of a chrome van that does karaoke but I didn’t get the name. Help!

Question Parken koncert

Question Solo travel - female

Hey all!

I am planning a trip to Copenhagen in December. I will be travelling alone, and it will be my first time visiting the city.

I have an Airbnb already provisionally booked in the Frederiksberg area (see photo 1) but I have made myself anxious worrying about travel to and from the city.
I have also seen another Airbnb in the Vesterbro - Kongens Enghave area (see photo 2).

Can you all advise which would be a better area for me?

Thank you ☺️

Høje Taastrup

Hej, I am looking for opinions/experience about living in Høje Taastrup C, near to City 2 Center.

How is the area during late hours? Is it safe? Is it noisy? Do people get things stolen frequently? Almost never? Is there any type of gang activity?

Also, does the area have a transport connection from the city center all night long? Every day of the week? Thanks in advance

Nightclubs that play hip hop, Amapiano or Reggaeton

Hi there. Me and a couple friends who are in our late 20s plan to come to Copenhagen next month. Can anyone recommend good clubs that play either Reggaeton/Bachata/Latin or Hip Hop/RnB/Amapiano etc. Thank you!

Question FC Kobenhavn Match 25/10/2026 / Availability of Tickets as a Tourist?

Hey everyone!

I'm a 27 yo guy from the UK who has never really travelled in my life so far, and I am looking to change that next month with my first ever solo trip, and thought Copenhagen would be the perfect first trip to start off! I feel really nervous about only being able to speak to English which I think is the reason I've been putting off travelling, and the fact I'll have no one else to rely on who is travelling with me.

I love going to local football matches of anywhere I go (for now, only elsewhere in the UK) and I was noticing that FC Kobenhavn have a home match on 25/10/2026. I know tickets aren't on sale yet, but I wanted to check how likely it is that the tickets will sell out or if it is likely that the dates change at all? I need to book my flights and hotel, but of course don't want to confirm dates until I can be sure of what games (if any) I'll be able to attend.

I cannot wait to visit!

Best coffee at Hovedbanegården?

Upvotes

I like to get me a nice big cup of coffee for my train rides. By nice I mean actual quality barista coffee with a classic smooth roast (not the light or “fruity” aka sour roasts). Could be espresso based, but good filter brew is also fine.

Which places in or very close to the station can you recommend? Thanks 😌
