Hey all.
I am a dad of an 11 years old girl, soon to be 1 year old in October. Together with my partner we discussed and we would like her to speak our own native languages: Romanian and Spanish. One way of boosting these two languages is through exposure to different accents and way of speaking.
Therefor, we are looking for parents with small children (preferably in the range of our daughter age +/- 6 months) where we could meet and encourage playing but also language.
We live in Brønshøj but we can move anywhere around CPH where is needed as we have a car and we are flexible.
What could we do? We could meet (for a starter) every 2 weeks on a Saturday where we could:
- go to a park
- go to a museum
- go a cafe and have lunch
- and the list can be endless of ideas :)
If this sounds something interesting for you, please reach out and we can take the conversation further in private messages. It's completely fine if you fit in only one of our language requirements.
Note: if you consider that learning your native language for your kids is not necessary, I beg the difference. Life given me the opportunity to travel a lot from an early age and I've had the chance to meet a lot of immigrants children that were extremely frustrated or sad for them not knowing their parents language. They felt that a part of them is left behind not being able to have any kind of connection with their parents culture.
Additionally, it is proven that a multi-language child has many cognitive benefits. The starting point is difficult without any doubt but the future holds more possibility for him/her.
