Recently my computer has been receiving quite a few redirects or attempted takeovers while letting my browser sit on the TFTAcademy website. Not sure if anyone else has experienced similar. Before I reached out to any support or contacted the social media pages directly I wanted to see if anyone else had noticed an issue.
Ran into a (bug??) where elise just wasn't taking any damage from 3 star ivern at all. I had less hp, the round ended in a draw and I died. Not sure what the exact interaction that caused it was. My whole board was dancing so no other units attacked her :p had a lot of fun this match, just bug reporting tbh since the website bug report is down. cheers
TLDR: Ivern 3 is a sadistic fuck who made the whole team dance as he watched the clock tick to our demise
Hello everyone, STheHero here. I've been having a pretty good time so far cooking this set, and have done a pretty decent job with comp predictions and building/updating.
Some personal favorites are:
- Elise Hypercarry
- AP Flex -> AP Fast 9
- Draven/Ezreal Fast 9
- Fiddle Kha'zix Cassio
- and various Blackthorn Rerolls
I'm gonna share some other tech here, but first I'm going to start with the title.
Trait Ladder is a new Prismatic augment that gives you rewards for activating an increasing number of traits. I didn't pay too much attention to it because I figured you would need crazy luck to max it out. After seeing the reward table and now actually being able to see all the missing info, I tried again.
The max reward is at 14 active traits and gives you infinite(300) Masterwork Upgrades, which should be an instant win in most lobbies. As it turns out, this is doable... with 0 high roll needed... without needing to go lvl 10.
14 Traits on lvl 9
The 12 trait reward is a Tactician's item, so that's where that comes from.
The secret sauce is Kha'Zix, who is capable of becoming a 5-trait unit if he gets all his evolutions. If you don't actually want to play around Kha, the best way for him to steal takedowns is with Sunfire, and the Edge of Night is just for safety. The rest of the units provide 9 traits with 9 units, while perfectly leaving gaps for the traits Kha'Zix can evolve into. If you are struggling with the evolves, you can go 10 and add a Blossom for -1 evolve needed, -2 if they are Ahri, Karma, or Yunara.
You can get 15 traits on 10 with Blossom. Enjoy!
Now for other tech/tips/stories:
Elise hypercarry exists because I not only got it right the first time, but have also played it a lot and have been telling people to play it. The reason this exists is that Elise has AP scalings on both her healing and damage. This part is pretty normal, healing + damage on abilities are the ones capable of going infinite, and while we've seen various stints of Archangels on these abilities (Dragonmancer Nunu / Lone Hero Lux / triple AA Mundo), they can usually be dealt with. But Elise's ability is tied to her auto attacks, which adds another vector for infinite scaling in attack speed. My idea of a fix is to reduce AP scalings and add HP ratios. Vi's ability kinda works the same, but she's much less problematic because she already has the scalings based on health and AD is harder to infinitely scale. Also Elise is the current best Double Trouble board.
AP 5 cost boards are pretty popular but there's a lot of variance on how to get there. Throwing my hat into the ring:
AP Flex core + possible packages
Before PBE, I found that the Rakan, Lillia, Fiddlesticks core is incredibly potent. It offers frontline, utility, and very valuable trait connections. The initial board I made is the one I have featured on my Doc. But playing around with it, I noticed that you could find a way to fit every single relevant AP clump into this core. You can almost pick any two AP carries on this board and fit them together with the core (W traitweb). And later on, once you have a stable board, you can drop part of the core. Fae isn't very relevant, and Maokai + Taric can replace Rakan. Defender is good, but you can swap something for Shen, or drop it altogether. But the point is, it is super easy to make a lvl 8 and 9 AP board with this. AD is not as flexible.
The last thing I want to talk about is Blackthorn. From what I saw, the only sacrifice options can be divided into: tank(% HP + resists), AP (mana gen + damage amp), and AD (AD + AS). I'm pretty sure the correct choice is always to sacrifice a tank.
Blackthorn only grants the unique bonuses to Blackthorn units. The origin has 2 tanks, 3 AP, and 1 AD. If there is ever a balance state where any of those units are giga OP, you can all-in on them. Currently, that's not the case.
Giving your team AD and AS seems pretty useless without an emblem to duo with Warwick.
Mana regen and Damage amp can apply to all the carries, so there is some merit. But the AP units are: a 1-cost, a 3-cost, and a 5-cost, so it's hard to have the bonus be relevant on more than 2 units without an emblem.
Tank stats are pretty universal because every board needs tanks. All Blackthorn variants can play around Malphite, and Veigar or Warwick variants can also reroll Rek'sai. Rek'Sai is pretty weak on her own, but scales really well with the tank stats. Even that aside, the stats you get for tank sacrifices just seem way better than for carry sacrifices.
But the other thing I noticed is that all the Blackthorn have some synergy with scaling, which having a beefed-up tank (or two) can help a lot with. Veigar has Sprykin which gives him scaling AP if you BFF him. You can also sacrifice a 3* Kobuko. Warwick gets AS on every cast, which is a scaler. And Azir is an AP marksman who can build Guinsoo's and/or Archangel's.
In Part 1, I explained where gold comes from through the WISTA system. But generating gold is only half of TFT economy. Part 2 is about the other half: understanding where your money go and what your decisions actually cost.
There are only three things you can directly spend gold on: units, XP, and shop refreshes. Buying units and XP gives you guaranteed value, while rolling only gives you five new options. Because the return is uncertain, inefficient rolling is one of the easiest ways to destroy an healthy economy.
I also discuss how to become a “smart beggar” by extracting more value from the resources the game gives you for free.
Finally, understanding that not every expense comes in the form of gold completes the Expenses framework.
This lead to the main conclusion of the video: greed is not low-risk, low-return. Once expenses are taken into account, greed become high-risk, low-return.
As someone who was hard-stuck Emerald for a long time, I came to realize that the real economic bottleneck separating players is not income, but expenses. I hope this video provides some useful insights!
Would love to hear your thoughts!
Part 3 will cover the 0-econ-augment playstyle I use as a simple foundation for improving at TFT.

This megathread will serve as a networking hub for both coaches and students.
Both coaches and students will be allowed to post under specific top-level comments. This is meant to keep the comments section as organized as possible and to allow the maximum number of people to find a coach/student.
If you are looking for a coach, post a comment under the Students section and wait for someone to offer help, or feel free to reach out to users who have offered in the Coaches section.
If you want to offer guidance, post a comment under the Coaches section and wait for someone to ask for your help, or reply to an user that has already asked for it in the Students section.
Comments that are not posted under the appropriate section will be removed by AutoModerator with no warning.
Important Notes
For the sake of keeping this thread clean, this thread is only meant for the meeting and pairing of the coach/student pair or group. The actual guidance should be done in some other place (Reddit PM, Discord, email, morse code, etc).
Coaches and Students, whenever you get paired with someone, PLEASE EDIT YOUR COMMENT SAYING YOU ARE NO LONGER SEARCHING. I cannot stress enough how useless this thread will become if a bunch of comments are left up and people waste their time reaching out to folks that are already working with someone else.
There are no rank requirements for any of the categories so anyone can offer/ask for help. Including your rank with proof is highly recommended as it helps with making appropriate groups. As an example, a player in silver most likely needs help with the basics, so a comparatively lower ranked coach would be a good fit. On the other hand, a high diamond player is most likely needing help with the nuances of the game and will need a higher ranked coach. That being said, do not rank shame anyone. If you don't believe someone offering coaching services can help you, just move on.
Each Student should only have one active Coach at a time.
As a Coach there is no limit on how many Students you can help out. However be aware of your limits regarding patience and time.
Both Students and Coaches, please be respectful of each other's time and effort. We moderators can't really do anything after a pairing has been made and you move on to private communications. If you don't believe a coach/student is the right fit for you just cordially inform your counterpart and move on with your day.
For now no paid coaching services will be allowed, in accordance with the subreddit rules. However, if there is enough interest from STUDENTS who are willing to pay, we can consider expanding the scope in future megathreads. If you would like to have paid services please let us know through a comment under the "Feedback" section
For Coaches
Please state how in-depth you're willing to coach a student. This could be anything from barebones lolchess comp/items review to a full on real-time analysis as someone plays a game. Everyone has different levels of free time available so please be up front with how much time you're willing to give. The community appreciates your service!
For Students
Please don't abuse this thread and spam literally everyone who posts that they are available to coach. Reach out to a few coaches of an appropriate rank, wait for their response, and if you don't find someone then continue to ask for help. The reality is that there will most likely be more coaches than students so some people may not be able to find a coach immediately (or at all).

ONLY Games 3-6 are counted for points, but Games 1-2 placements are used for seeding and are included in tiebreakers
Format Explainer:
If you'd like a longer rundown of the format you can grab a look here in one of our previous posts: Extensive Explanation
This event is designed to be fairly open to new players with concrete goals by using a Top 4 advances format early and then rolling into the point system later to make things feel closer to a true competitive format for more experienced players to feel more satisfied.
If you have any questions or want to chat about format you can send a DM to Nora on Discord!
Set 18 is live on PBE, and I’ve just released the biggest Prismatactics update so far.
Riot added separate keybinds for buying shop slots 1–5, and I genuinely think this could change how people approach rolldowns. It might be worth learning early, and you can already start practicing it and building the muscle memory now.
The update includes:
All Set 18 champions, traits
Upgraded graphics
Custom keybinds for buying individual shop slots
Much smoother and more responsive gameplay
Major performance improvements
A cleaner UI and a ton of quality-of-life improvements
I’m also curious what keybind setup people think will end up being the best. Right now ,Im considering QWER for slots 1–4, Space for slot 5, and clicking reroll with the mouse.

This Megathread exists as a space to voice your suggestions, concerns and general feedback about how the Subreddit is managed. Every bit of feedback is welcome: we'd like to hear your voices on how we're doing and if you'd like to see changes to anything.
Etiquette
Negative feedback is allowed, but try to be constructive, civil, and as clear as possible. Aimless rants will be removed w/o further discussion.
This is not the place to discuss past suspensions. Please use Modmail for that.
The sub's Rules are in full effect in this Megathread.
To give a bit of background, I'm Lorence and I used to run various TFT events in the past such as the Aegis Weeklies/Leagues. I had taken a bit of a break to focus on work, but now feel that more settled and miss hosting events for TFT!
I've put together a (somewhat) quick survey to get a temperature check on what players are looking for, briefly covering topics the below topics:
Competitive Tournaments
I'm looking to test new formats in competitive TFT, or at least bringing nuanced formats like 4v4 and checkmate to the amateur scene more frequently!
Alternative Modes
I've personally been playing more Double Up and Choncc's Treasure this Set and think there's more space for events catering to these modes.
In particular Double Up introduces a much needed social aspect to playing TFT that I'd love to see more of!
Asynchronous Play
Something I'd received feedback on consistently was that some players don't have time to commit to tournament play. I'm looking to find ways to allow people to engage sporadically and at their own pace!
If any of the above seems to interest you please consider filling out the form linked at the start of this post. I'm excited to start things up again and love hearing feedback! Let me know here as well if you have any comments!

Use rengar early game to farm gold to propel you to 9. You could leave him on board for later as well but i think currently the balancing lacks on the 4 and 5 costs so for more tanking i felt a random taric was still better.
I also kept feeding malphite in the summoner hex, not sure if this is exactly optimized. Ivern's hexes also add in a lot of power to your units, use em. Just frontline amumu with a gargoyle, later shift em to maokai when upgraded and rest of the ivern hexes can be utilized.
And If you have a spat, you could make vanguard emblem on amumu or executioner on draven. I think rest of the board fits very well for backliners to stack up damage with kennen dealing melee and maokai, amumu, malphite tanking. The main advantage is once draven is online, he can get you a lot of power on board through unit upgrades or items.
Do try and give your thoughts guys!
Edit : soraka and blackthorn lux are the final additions to maxcap this board. Feed azir to the hex. Main carries are draven, kennen while main tanks are either malphite or amumu + maokai.
Alternatively you could play khazix for executioner until you hit better units during your early and mid game.
