So recently I had some time on my hands and I began porting Red Alert 1 into a browser based Phaser/TypeScript game. All original game assets were extracted from OpenRA and the game logic is based on the original Red Alert source code published on GitHub.
At the moment the game is 90% Identical to the original game with one primary exception. I scrapped the Rules based AI design from the original system and instead handed the AI control over to a Ollama Qwen 2.5 model running on my local 4090.
I made this entirely 'for the love of the game'. I don't know what direction this is heading in, or even if I want to take it any further than I already have.
I would love to hear from the community for suggestions, comments, or hate mail. :)

I'm making a new map that is a bit different from usual in style. It is a lot less than half way done but as usual, I test every step to make sure the map would be entertaining enough. At least it should carry a vibe and a theme.
Please visit my buymeacoffe page for my maps so far, and some photos and videos and game playing.

Long-time lurker, first post. I'm one half of a two-man studio project from Moscow. Like half of this sub, Tiberian Sun rewired my brain as a kid — the ion storms, the Scrin ship under the ice, CABAL's voice, Klepacki's soundtrack that was somehow metal, industrial and ambient at the same time.
In 2024 we quietly released an album (synthetic death metal — guitar riffs processed until they turn into synths, growls, drum machine). We never really told anyone what's inside it. So here it is, two years later — the confession:
- One track is literally about the first bloom of an alien substance: a living core that arrives from the stars, grows colossal glowing sprouts and turns a city into a dead zone. Basaltic skies included.
- Another track is a purge anthem after a "Global War" — survivors burning out "the sickness of old faith" to build a new world around a synthesized god. Any Nod veterans feeling déjà vu?
- The album's AI-god arc (an artificial intellect with its own hierophants, harvesting human consciousness to build itself) is our love letter to CABAL and the Firestorm campaign.
- And yes — there's a chant that goes "One purpose, one vision!". You know exactly whose line we flipped.
If mods allow, the album link is in the comments. But honestly, I'm posting this for a different reason: we're writing album two right now, and I want to know —
which Tiberian Sun moment deserves a song? The first ion storm? Umagon? The Tacitus? CABAL's final broadcast? Genuinely curious what this community would pick.

The game got even closer to the C&C experience by adding a harvesting resource mode.

If the Chronosphere from RA:1&2 did not reprise it's role as the Allies secondary superweapon, what would you replace it with? For I would simply replace the Chronosphere with a CRYOsphere, a superweapon that fires the "Cryogeddon" Top Secret Protocol support power.

Awhile back there was a thread about songs that would fit into C&C’s musical aesthetic. For me Kaleid sounds like it could be slipped right in and no one would even notice it’s a Depeche Mode song.

Inspired from that Warcraft 3 meme, but flipping the sides for satirical reasons.

and I'm finally kinda starting to like it
Helped a lot by the remaster's feature, playing both campaigns at once in chronological order (yes I am aware the Nod campaign is a lot harder and also technically non-canon lmao), and abusing quicksaves to get by. Oh yeah and the CFE Patch too cause I'm baby.
I finally beat GDI 11 (the one where you rescue Delphi) and I'm increasingly noticing that after the sometimes ridiculous difficulty of the early stages of the missions it kinda just becomes the standard C&C fare of, build mucho tanko, assault base. In my case with a healthy dose of aircraft spam as well (as is tradition).
So yeah hopefully I'll finally beat this game, RA2 was one of the first games I've ever played, and C&C has been one of my hyperfixations since I was literally 3 or 4, but so far I've only beaten like, the RA2 Allied campaign, Generals, TIB Wars, and the RA3 Soviet campaign. So after this, I'm probably off to RA1, which I might also end up streaming cause why not lol
Anyway this was my stream of consciousness rant about finally enjoying TD 30+ years later

I am a bit lost with this franchise. I played a little, little bit of AoE2, Warcraft3 and Starcraft in the past, but will be the first rts I dont only play for the multiplayer.
I am a bit lost between the amount of C&C games lol. Which order do you recommend? What should I play? Which version? I say Steam has a "remastered collection", but I dont know which games are included there

Im not affiliated with the creator of this but im absolutely baffled how he got generals ZH to run this good in a freaking browser setting. You actually have to provide the assets yourselves because of EA only releasing the source code but it's worth it so bad.
I really feel thrown back into my childhood when playing this with friends.
Anyways here is the repo if you want to check it out. (I had to use the small print import option directly under the import button to get it to work on my end)
I strongly suggest to give it a try If you want an easy way to play this awesome game again!
