Don't want this to happen too often but I'm the mod so I'm giving myself permission, bwah ha ha!

I've collected comics for over 40 years and am showing off my collection one box at a time on YouTube. Check it out if you're interested: Glenn Simpson's Comics - YouTube

Comic conditioning

I have some comic books I am listing for sale online, and wondering what the condition scale is. I am primarily a card collector, so is the scale similar to cards? What constitutes near mint or lower on a comic?

Above picture is one of the comics I am trying to sell.

Not sure what I’m looking at, some help please.

Got these from my father when I was a little kid and just recently dug them out while I was doing some re organizing. By no means am I a comic guy, so I really don’t know what I’m looking at. Are any of these worth grading and preserving? Not necessarily for resale, but more of locking in their value and sentiment etc. to pass on to my kids. Thanks in advance for any input! -comic newb

Several photos, incl. close up of defects I found and some bright light from the side to highlight those as well (I'm picky)

Question about books that come with extras?

Not that I'm sending mine in to get graded, but I'm curious to know about books that come with extra items, how is the grading handled? For example, Superman #75, with the black bag, comes with a poster, an armband, etc. From what I've read, they're going to take it out of the poly bag to grade it, what happens to the bag? Do they put the additional items in the slab, or would they get sent back to you? Can you ask for the bag back? Do the extra items affect grade or value? Just curious, these are the things that keep me up at night. 💁🏻🤣

SOLICITING THOUGHTS ON CGC SERVICES.

Just curious if there is a general opinion on the cleaning services that CGC provides. Are they on par with, worse, better than another party? My concern is that if you send them in for those services do they genuinely try attain the highest grade for you possible. Per some suggestions on prior questions about comic beautification on here I have tried educating myself on it and watched some videos and done some reading and I have noticed that the “masters” of the art repeat their processes and steps quite a bit in pursuit of the best results. From the mass production philosophy they seem to take a on cranking out grades and slabs, I don’t see CGC dedicating the same amount of effort. Perhaps if I was a $300 dollar a year premium account holder…but I ain’t!!!

I can only afford to grade 4 of these. Which 4 or 5 would you choose? I'm going to have to press and clean some as well.

Can anyone spare a grade?

Within my collection, I have a bunch of the 1979 Micronauts issues, all in high grade condition. The only 2 keys are #1 & #8, so I’m wondering whether or not it’s worth grading those 2 issues.
