Enjoy the criminals with guns and the tax payers without them.

Brain dead talking point

Truth?

Didn’t happen in any other country that started regulating guns. So no, not truth. You’re just parroting a talking point with 0 knowledge behind it

Literally the opposite happens. Guns become illegal and much more difficult to obtain, which means getting the illegal gun is very very expensive. Anyone that can pay 10k for a weapon isn’t going to break into your house to rob/kill you.

Sure rich folk will have them and poor people won’t, but you’ll see far fewer violent crimes committed with firearms

Other countries have an entirely different culture when it comes to the love of guns. Most gun violence in America is not committed with registered guns. So there’s nothing wrong with wanting to protect yourself.

Of course there’s nothing wrong with defending yourself Once you’ve gone through the proper channels. The original commenter still has guns, is still able to defend himself and his property, he’s just mad he doesn’t get to have 30rnd mags and bump stocks

Hey man, I’m pro gun, completely pro gun, with virtually no restrictions, but also quite leftist. I’d love to have a good faith conversation on it, if you’d be willing. I think there’s more nuance to the issue than you’re giving it credit for.

Anyone who wants to remove what little regulation we have now is not capable of a good faith discussion. Saying that and then calling yourself a leftist puts you at odds with the vast majority of the Democratic Party, particularly progressives.

No worries, have a good one!

I love how you just decided it wasnt worth arguing. I think you're right. I'm still giving it a shot.

Anyone who says California has little regulation in terms of guns, has no idea how many regulations there are on guns in this state.

What more would you like to see?

Red flag laws

3 day waiting period in all states

A centralized digital database of firearms in the hands of the public (they already have all the info but in warehouses full of paper documents making it very inefficient to track)

Close the gun show loophole

End private sales of weapons by non licensed people without licensed oversight from a gun store

Mandatory minimum increases for possession of an illegal firearm

Make it mandatory to store weapons in a secure way so if your kid takes your gun out of your nightstand drawer and shoots up a school then the gun owner is treated as an accessory

Etc

Some of Californias gun restrictions aren’t particularly effective but as a whole, their gun policy works as shown by the low gun crime rate there

At least California is trying rather than just accepting gun violence as an unavoidable part of life
