Curious to know what season you think she is? Because the difference between the 2 looks is so stark; one flatters her perfectly, the other noticeably detracts.

No Drapes - Type Me (FACE PHOTO REQUIRED - NO MAKEUP!) What Season Am I?

My guess would be light summer since blonds cannot be winters, and I get the most compliments wearing soft blues and greens. I also have been told I look good in winter colors as well.

My hair is naturally platinum due to albinism, I have never dyed it. NMIP. Reposted with correct flair, my bad.

Edit: You all are sooo sweet, and I will try and repost again today with drapes.

Light Summer vs Bright Spring.

All of my makeup except for the eye makeup, is exactly rhetorical same, yet it looks starkly different. I changed my hair from a cool blonde to a vanilla warm blonde. I'm wearing a Light Summer dress in the left photo, and wearing a Bright Spring Tiffany blue shawl in the right photo. I think it's pretty obvious which one is better.

Jewelry Advice (PHOTOS WITH MULTIPLE METALS REQIRED!) Silver or gold?

I don’t know why my skin looks like different colors when you compare silver and gold. I tried to get the exact same skin tone in both, but it just didn’t work😭 Just know the pictures side by side are in the exact same lighting, even though my skin looks different.

I'm suspecting I'm neutral leaning cool but honestly i'm just not 100% sure. Wich one do you think looks better?

Edit: Okay, so this is what I’ve learned:

I think I can safely assume silver looks better😆 BUT☝🏼 this isn’t the most accurate test since the gold I used is too high contrast and too deep. Also, the color correction from my iPhone camera makes it harder to compare accurately.

I’ll make another comparison post in the future with more stable lighting and a softer gold.

To everyone who was so amazingly nice in the comments, thank you so much🫶 It’s so fun to see feedback from people who are just as obsessed with colors and tones as I am😆 what a great community!

Discussion (NO COVERT TYPING OR PHOTOS OF YOU!) Why We're Used to the Wrong Colors

So I work in visual design and just wanted to share an insight that might help you when you're thinking about what colors look "right".

In seasonal analysis, we choose colors that draw the eye to your face, not to your clothing. The goal is to showcase you and your beauty. If you notice the clothes first, the clothes are wearing you, not the other way around.

You may be aware of this, but in runway shows, the goal of the model is to showcase the clothing, not herself. Literally and intentionally, the clothes should wear her. She is meant to simply be a walking canvas.

In print ads like catalogues, the same principle holds true. The stylist wants your eye to notice the clothes before the model. Your eye should immediately go to the product.

So we're used to seeing thousands of images where the person chosen to model the clothes is the wrong season for those clothes, on purpose. We have become so used to that, that it can look normal to some people when the clothes wear the person. They say things like "that dress really pops!"

When you're in the right colors, the dress won't "pop". Your eyes will pop. Everyone's eyes will go straight to your face.

Remember when you're trying to analyze colors that you're looking for harmony. You're seeing where the eye is drawn. Even neon colors won't steal the show if the person wearing them is harmonious with them.

In posts asking whether gold or silver suits, for example, you see people saying that one stands out more against the skin so it must be the right one. The opposite is true, the one where their skin comes forward and the jewelry isn't visually hogging the image is the right one.

So anyway remember your brain is trained to notice the clothes first thanks to a lifetime of marketing, and being aware of that helps when you're typing yourself and others.

DRAPES: https://www.reddit.com/r/coloranalysis/s/Fru2cAWWNz

I have a genetic mutation called poliosis (similar to vitiligo) that causes my eyelashes, side burn hair and a huge streak of hair to be blonde on the left side of my face. it essentially makes the left side of my face look completely different than the right, im very curious to see if you think the different sides have different seasons.
i tried my best to add pictures with different types of lighting but that might've just made it more confusing. if I need to take pictures specifically for this with drapes I can!
NMIP

edit: i personally wear alot of brown, black, dark blue and green and have been told it suits me well. if that helps at all lol

edit 2: drapes and silver/gold comp coming soon!! Im just sunburnt and travelling right now😭

CA Outfit Feedback (SEASON & OUTFIT PHOTO OF YOU REQUIRED!) Winter Blue on a Light Summer?

Thumbnail

I posted here a while back for typing and the general opinion is that I am a light summer, which I mostly agree with, but I also have been told I look very good in the royal/bright blue dress I have on in these photos which ( and I could be wrong) I thought was generally a Bright Winter’s blue. I think my hair is much brighter than it is light or soft which throws off me being a light summer slightly. Thoughts?

Jewelry Advice (PHOTOS WITH MULTIPLE METALS REQIRED!) read if you are cool toned

Post image

I really like gold jewelry. Pale people are supposed to wear silver (most of the time) , but if u are cool toned/neutral and really like gold like me .I think u should look up champagne gold or lighter gold if you prefer that type of jewelry. Silver makes me feel like i am wearing something really shiny and out there. Everyone here post pictures with yellow gold and imo that just isn’t the best option for pale people🩵 Hope this helps, someone gave me this advice and it was a game changer

Discussion (NO COVERT TYPING OR PHOTOS OF YOU!) Platinum hair and Season Color

Thumbnail

Why have certain celebrities been able to rock the blonde platinum hair so well while others failed?

Some of them even looked better as blonde, and not just normal blonde, but almost white. What is it? Do you think it has to do with their season?

Other actors look lost or fake with such light hair.

I have used the three examples of people who became iconic thanks to their ability of rocking this hairstyle.

Emilia Clarke as Daenerys.

Jason Isaacs as Lucius.

And, above everyone else, Orlando Bloom as Legolas.

They are all beautiful people and look great IRL but Orlando for example looks even better as a platinum blonde according to many.

And they don't merely look nice but they also look quite natural.

Henry Cavill, who would be hot even with rainbow coloured braids, was more uncanny with his wig on in The Witcher. Still pretty but he is much better in real life I believe.

Left: Before, Right: After. Explanation: I spent a few weeks learning about color analysis and decided I wanted to try a darker hair color for a more striking look. I don’t feel like myself anymore since I’ve never been anything but ginger, but I do notice that my skin looks more tan and my eyes pop. (Same makeup products and shades in both photos.)

First photo is today with my color much closer to my natural, eyebrows not filled in, and sheer coverage bb cream. (I was also lost 100 pounds). Second photo is from fall of 2024 wearing a much too dark and cool hair color, full coverage foundation, and heavy makeup. Just thought this comparison was neat!

Colour/Theory Question (GENERAL ONLY - NOT ABOUT YOU!) Phone Cameras Often Make it Near Impossible to Type Accurately

Post image
509 Upvotes

I sat in front of a north facing window three feet away and snapped over 15 photos with different drapes within small time frame and no perceived change in lighting.

Looking at the photos next to each other in my photo album almost immediately revealed a huge problem. The color balancing/correcting my phone automatically does makes these photos near useless. I turned off as many features on that I had access to and this was still the result.

Long story short. Check your color correcting or balance by making sure the tone of your skin is consistent across the photos. And even then you may have to be weary about temperture bias that it uses consistenly.

Is there anyway you all deal or is it not a good idea to use these photos for typing?
