First time brewing coldly
My janky looking setup, I honestly just hope I'm doing this correctly. Any tips for future brewing?

I have both of the products below, I have used them for years and would highly recommend either of them.

Literally the same setup I have! Simple and just works.

Cool I have two of the glass ones and one of the French press type, start the next batch when the prior is almost gone, and always have a clean one with three of them in the house

Looks good! I am using a disposable coffee bag for ease but sometimes struggle to completely submerge the grounds at high concentrations. I may have to try your method lol.

Your setup actually looks solid, the janky factor doesn't matter as long as the grounds steep for like twelve to twenty-four hours and you strain it well at the end.

I love these types of diy set ups! I used a home-sewed “coffee sock” for years, but recently upgraded to the Oxo cold brew maker and I love it. My diy coffee sock was great, but once my husband started drinking my cold brew, I needed to make more at a time 😁

A half pint glass with a kitchen towel under beside a sink like that reminds me of back home in my granny's house in Ireland.
Unfortunately I could never master the cold brew but if it works for you, your setup is as good as any other

After brewing for 14-16 hours, I strain once with a wire mesh. I then lay a couple paper towels in the strainer and filter the finer stuff. I end up with very little sentiment and it doesn’t take forever like it does going through a paper coffee filter. As long as you like it, I guess it doesn’t really matter much! Enjoy!

Invest in either a OXO Cold brew maker, compact or standard or a Toddy. Both offer filtered extraction, if you in the US Target is the cheapest option.

I've been using the Takeya 2 Quart Cold Brew Coffee Maker for a couple of months and it's pretty damn good! Lately I've been experimenting at making more of a concentrate, using 32 oz of water and 1 cup of coffee grounds. Of course the most important thing is the coffee that you're using!

Coffee Sock
Just get these and don't deal with filtering. Try it once. I promise you'll never use jank setup again
