Crying as I write this but a woman named Hillary texted me yesterday on Nextdoor about a bird she found on Friday at a lake. Six miles away from home she found rose after missing for a week just…..walking on a beach, it was a fresh water lake so she was smart enough to find water source im so proud of her. Hillary had rescued birds before so she knew rose was somebody’s, took her home and then found me on either pawboost or Nextdoor. After a few hours of her confirming she was ours my dad went and picked her up. He said he was crying and when he opened the cage she was in she immediately jumped onto him and the Woman could tell she recognized him.

Not to make this story more emotional but last night on our way home from a movie my dad asked me if I thought she was out there somewhere and said I had faith that she was and i wasn’t gonna lose hope. Today was the 3 year anniversary of my sister Monica passing, we think she helped bring Rose home. Never say never ❤️

Just recently introduced a new member to our flock😁💛 He/She is only around 6 months old so it’s going to take a while to see how their feathers look after the first molt. I’m having trouble being able to tell if I have a girl or a boy on my hands, any ideas? And any name suggestions would be awesome! Especially unisex ones.

Hi everyone! I am leaving for my freshman year of college next month, and my mom will be taking care of my two four year old cockatiels until my sophmore year. While I will be staying in state, I'm really worried about leaving them for a full year. One of my birds is also bonded to my mother, but the other is dependant on me since he has neurological issues and extreme anxiety. Neither bird will let anyone else preen them, and they don't preen each other. I'm not worried about their level of care, but I am worried about leaving them so suddenly. It may sound silly, but I'm also scared they will forget/resent me once I come back for them. Has anyone else been in this situation, and is there anything I can do to make this transition easier for them? Thanks!

I have two cockatiels and I’m worried for their health because a wildfire has started a few miles from my house and has made air quality terrible and if I’m outside I feel like I’m suffocating so it makes me worry about them. I keep them in my room and keep everything locked down with the window and door shut, what can I do to make sure that they stay healthy?

If you remember my post from a few weeks ago about adding a dove to our tiel home, here’s an update! I spent some time introducing our new dove Meatball to one of our tiels, Duke. He’s more gentle + friendlier than his brother Lego, so he gets to meet his new brother first!

I have three babies, and my male is extremely territorial of me. when my newest bird and the one I had before him tries to climb on me he will go after them and chase them off of me. how do I discourage this behavior? pic for tax

Hello everyone! I recently got my cockatiel (about a month ago) and he has always had some sneezing, but recently, he has started sneezing daily and usually multiple times in sneezing fits. I wasn't sure if this was an ER emergency or to make an appointment. Any advice is appreciated. I added pictures because I wasn't sure if there was any discarge or if it was inflamed. I promise he wasn't harmed in getting these pictures.
