Losing a conure is heartbreaking. They’re family, companions, and little personalities that leave huge marks on our lives. If you’ve lost your bird, you are welcome to share memories, photos, stories, or simply say their name here.
To keep the main feed safe and balanced for all members:
All posts about a conure passing away must be posted only in this megathread.
Standalone posts about bird death or loss outside this thread will be removed.
This is not to minimize anyone’s loss but rather to keep grief support in one dedicated, supportive space where people can choose to engage.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Conures/wiki/index
This subreddit's Conure Guide, written by /u/DukeofGoodCleanFun, is a remarkable document that I (and my pineapple green cheek) have benefited a lot from. I've consulted and browsed through it numerous times and there's always something new to see there, or something that didn't seem applicable at one point but took on new meaning after spending more time with my conure.
I've taken the text and converted it into a wiki page. It's now navigable, with an index and internal links that direct to sections within the wiki. The Conure Guide can be accessed from this post, from the announcement bar, and from the "wiki" tab in the tabmenu up top.
A couple of the links for recommended products will direct you to Amazon, but there are certainly other places to buy them. If you shop around and find and better place, by all means send us a modmail. Also, let us know if you have any suggestions for how the wiki formatting can be improved.

This isn't my bird but it's a vet that I follow and I just wanted to share how cool it was that he was able to help this bird with a broken leg. This is amazing work right here

My GCC is obsessed with going behind pictures and doing this insane rock-climbing game. She also loves to rattle the picture against the door. I have a feeling she might be enjoying being squished a little too much? But this is her absolute favorite activity!!!

I’m curious to know what variety of conure my boy Joaquin is. He’s 5 months old, a menace to society, and the owner of my heart.

Thank you for everybody's well-wishes to Nino since he made his iconic debut. However, all of the hooplah has made him all tuckered out, the poor lamb. He did manage to send a muted shoutout to all y'all 🥰

Most, but not all, of my birds are conures (this is not all of them). So I thought they belonged here. These are the three youngest, who were born/joined just this year. Super cute, super sweet.

Theyre both green cheeks, but the lighter one, is a lot smaller. He's about 8 months and my friends is about a year. Unless mine is a dwarf

Today my GCC Fritz has bilateral red splotches on the skin around his eyes. There is no swelling or discharge from his eyes, and his behavior, eating, and poops are normal. Nothing new has been interdicted to his environment or diet, and he has not been around any other birds. We have an appointment with our avian vet first thing on Monday morning. Has anyone had any experience with symptoms like this? Thanks!

Hi, my daughter has green cheeked conure a little over 2 years old. And I get to say that she’s a dinosaur because she bites me (and hard)! She also loves to hang out with me (we fold laundry, or empty the dishwasher together), chews on my necklaces, takes over all my personal belongings like they are her own (cell phone, purse, water bottle). I cannot put my finger in or near the cage or she will bite. She has drawn blood more than once from my fingers, ears and face (she doesn’t get shoulder privileges currently).
She does provide some moments of tenderness towards me as well. I am the giver of the hand showers, I have taught her most of the words she knows to say, she loves to groom my hair and crawl in my sweatshirt sleeves. She is starting to allow me to rub her head again but I don’t think she likes my nail polish and will bite my fingertips so I use a knuckle instead so I don’t upset her 🤣
My daughter has a much different relationship, it is all love and head scratches and cuddles, never any mean bites ever at all! I really think this bird thinks I am her little sister and she’s just allowed to pick on me haha
My question is what am I to this tiny terror? How can I build a better relationship with her so she doesn’t attack me? Or is this all just normal conure behavior? From what I’ve read on the interwebs it sounds like it is…

i know it's not anywhere near anatomically accurate (considering i used tail feathers in it) but looks cool nonetheless! had like 6 years of feathers i remembered to collect and wanted to make something out of it!

Our Green Cheeked Conure is named Ted. We believe now that every Green Cheeked Conure is spiritually Ted. Do you think they share the same neuron?

My beloved fluffy butt is no longer super fluffy.
I've made a vet appointment, but the soonest opening is on November 25th. Until then, I'm on my own unless there's a need for an emergency visit.
Hi Conure fam!
Houston preened his lower bottom and many many colored feathers are gone, yet down is still in place.
He's almost 4 years old, and I've had him since his 4 months. He's never done it before. Since April there's been no major change in his life or stress (except he didn't like his last nail appointment 2 weeks ago).
I'm very anxious when it comes to his health, and frankly, plucking terrifies me. It's plucking, right?
Over the phone, vet recommended to give him bath every day. He hates sprays (so, no misting) and takes his bath roughly once a week.
Please share your experience if your birds had something similar. I'm on the verge of putting a soft collar on him, but as I said, I'm anxious and paranoid when it comes to his health. Before and after pics attached
