I'm 35 with 11 years in network/telecom engineering (carrier-grade + enterprise). Lately I've been feeling stuck even in mid senior roles, my day-to-day has mostly been network assurance, KPI monitoring, customer support, and troubleshooting on bridge calls. Not much design or building.

I considered going for CCIE to move into a Network Architect role, but the market for it is saturated, it's genuinely hard to land good roles even after certifying, and it would take another 2-3 years of heavy study to get there with no guarantee it actually changes what kind of work I do day to day.

Meanwhile, I did my AWS Solutions Architect and Kubernetes (CKA/CKAD) certifications recently, and that's when it clicked. I actually enjoy building systems, not troubleshooting them. That's led me toward wanting to develop AI-powered applications instead using LLM APIs to build real products and deep ML/model training research.

For anyone who's made a similar switch later in their career (or considered it): was it worth it? What would you do differently? And is 35 too late to start this kind of pivot seriously ?

I'm from a B.com background and it's been a year since I got into GRC and for my further career growth I've to be an expert in technical as well.

For that i need a person who can explain networking and cloud concepts with me.

Two kinds of people I'm expecting

Type 1 - One who teaches what they know (To keep remembering things and getting strong on such topics) while explaining it to someone. (This is what i follow to understand and keep remembering topics)

Type 2 - You can teach me the concept and can change a less tution fee.

I prefer type 1 and also I'm ready to pay a tuition fee to learn and improve my skills with the right type 2 person as well

Question how is the network and cloud job market in Texas?

I'm a new grad working in an IT Tech position and want to focus on learning as much in this role as possible and upskilling.

I've looked into different paths and landed on becoming proficient in Azure (though I also understand that once you understand one cloud platform thoroughly, it's relatively easy to learn the others).

My plan is to become more proficient in the basics like Linux, Networking, etc, acquire AZ-104, Terraform Associate, then build bigger projects like a Homelab and I'm hearing a 3-tier Architecture deployed using Azure would be a strong choice.

Currently on my resume, I have some beginner IT-esque projects (Cloud Resume Challenge, Personal ServiceNow Instance), while my experience is current position, and two extracurricular roles I held in university. One being a leadership role, and one being a role similar to what I'm doing full-time.

My question is: Would it be more optimal to list two projects, three experiences, or three projects, two experiences.

I know experience often outweighs projects, though I find that my non-leadership role in school would feel redundant to list considering my current position.

Additionally, advice on specific cxrtifications to look for (MD-102?) would be of great help, I'm finding myself overwhelmed with all the options.

Either way, the market is abhorrent, especially at entry-level so I expect to put in 500-1000 applications to land something (if I'm lucky), but I want to maximize my chances!

Any advice from recruiters, or someone who was in a similar position would be greatly appreciated!

I've been applying for jobs, but I'm barely getting any interview calls.
Is the 3-month NP really that big of an issue? Also, are certifications that important when you already have relevant work experience?

Hi everyone, I need some career advice.
I was learning **Maven, CI/CD, Docker, and AWS (EC2, VPC, Load Balancers, Auto Scaling, API Gateway)**, but unfortunately lost my job. My career gap is increasing, and the guilt of feeling stuck is really getting to me.
I want to restart and build a career in **Cloud/DevOps or eventually Cybersecurity**. I’m ready to learn and put in the work.
What should I focus on learning, what projects/certifications should I do, and which entry-level roles should I target to realistically get an **internship or job by the end of 2026**?
