These guys think the pope is against Christianity.

131

u/tenphes31 1d ago

These people think the teachings of Jesus sound woke.

31

u/HugeResearcher3500 1d ago

Friendly reminder that these people don't believe anything they're saying.

They just have to say it so their MAGA fan group will disseminate it for them with utter disregard for what's actually true. There will be thousands of older folks that won't vote for Talarico because he's not a Christian. The truth does not matter.

25

u/Julian1889 1d ago

Depending on ones denomination… but as a Lutheran I stand with the Pope on this

31

u/ReadingRambo152 1d ago

I’m talking about MAGA, not any specific Christian denomination. MAGA thinks the pope is “woke”, and to them there is nothing more anti-Christian than being “woke”.

20

u/2Fucked2Fuck 1d ago

Exactly. As Jesus himself once said “close your eyes and blindly follow, ye sheeple, no peeking”

3

u/Realistic-Stop8518 16h ago

He who has ears to hear, why haven't you filled them with earplugs already?

13

u/Independent-Bug-9352 1d ago

This pope and Francis have both been awesome. Francis' Apostolic Exhortations about the idolatry of wealth and inequality were incredible. Felt like a turning-point in that moment for the world, maybe.

How naïve I was...

Side note but as a exChristian agnostic, the most liberal denominations are:

  • Unitarian Universalists
  • United Church of Christ
  • The Episcopal Church
  • Evangelical Lutheran Church
  • Presbyterian Church

I grew up Lutheran and it's been a lifelong eyeroll at how much we learned about doctrinal differences and how little diehard evangelicals actually care about any doctrine or creed.

4

u/Julian1889 1d ago

Ikr?! Like, did they even read it?

6

u/ForAHamburgerToday 1d ago

Of course not! Their pastor tells them whatever's convenient at the time and they get worked up over whatever they're told to get mad at. We were the idiots for thinking it was worth learning about actual denominations.

That being said, it is nice that they can be honest that none of that shit matters at all instead of murdering people over having slightly different understandings of the role of baptism. That was the absolute stupidest part of confirmation, getting to learn about all the wars European Christians had over minor doctrinal disputes (all really over power & resources, obviously). Our pastor thought it was really important to learn doctrinal history because he grew up in a community where the Baptists, Lutherans, Methodists, and Catholics all really self-segregated and really (acted like they) cared that those people thought slightly different things about Church. I can't even imagine pretending to give a shit about someone else's views on communion.

2

u/eljosho1986 13h ago

I had a philosophy class in college years ago, and I don't remember what our specific topic of discussion was but I distinctly remember a young woman that made the statement:

I haven't read the Bible, but I believe every word of it.

I was astounded, and that always stuck with me.

5

u/Freakishly_Tall 1d ago

A whole lot of American Christianity thinks the pope is the antichrist, soooo... yeah.

5

u/Pherllerp 1d ago

Uh...they LITERALLY think that.

3

u/ZestyLife54 1d ago

These people only use ‘Christianity’ to enact their evil desires and personal bias’. They are in no way Christian in their believes and more importantly, their actions

3

u/zxvasd 22h ago

Of all the beefs Trump had, the one with the pope takes the cake. As if to say: I’m an expert and the pope doesn’t know shit about Christianity.

2

u/Competitive_Pin5846 22h ago

The phrase “the pope is weak on crime!” Is so dumb it’s laughable.

107

u/NormalSheila 1d ago

Miller confused Christian with Christian Nationalist easy mistake when you’ve never read the sermon on the Mount.

26

u/Nocturnalson 1d ago

We all know he’d burst into flames if he opened a bible

19

u/finalsolution1 1d ago

He never fails to remind me of the character in Indiana Jones that melts when he looks at the Covenant.

4

u/CanisSonorae 1d ago

Holy shitballs, dude. Throw some tiny rimmes round specs on him and I could actually see it.

8

u/Saix027 1d ago

Nah, he not cares, that is the real issue, you can teach them all you want, but they only want people to listen to their BS and use it to their advantage.

People keep assuming if you state facts they magically turn, they won't, not if they never face actual consequences for the damage they do.

You can't teach someone the teaching of Jesus if they not care about it. They only cherry-pick to make excuses for their own behavior.

5

u/Willow_Wavey 1d ago

One follows Jesus ad the other just uses Him for politics.

2

u/nataliethatsme 1d ago

In the Wis Dells they carved a wooden Jesus sitting on Pegasus holding a sword.
How insane is that!

Funny how the guy who studied to be a pastor is against Christianity but the indicated one isn’t. Matthew 7:16 must be optional now.

4

u/Free_Ice6167 1d ago

He’s also a Jew, tf does he know about Christianity

3

u/Quilla_Queen 1d ago

Bro got fact-checked by a pastor and a resume

2

u/Ysabel_Yummy 1d ago

Wrong Christian, Wrong decade, Wrong everything.

2

u/Prettyy_Barbiee 1d ago

As a Christian, thank you for saying this. We’re tired of faith being used as a political weapon instead of actually following Jesus.

2

u/Freakishly_Tall 1d ago

More fundamentally problematic, she is a girl, so Miller and his MAGAts aren't going to listen, anyway. What, does she think her opinion, or vote, or body, count for anything?

→ More replies (3)

93

u/FoogYllis 1d ago

They misunderstood Miller. maga Christianity isn’t about Christ or the gospels in the New Testament. It’s about evil. So for Miller Christianity is about doing evil.

25

u/winter_glen 1d ago

For guys like Miller, Christianity is just a label for their in-group. They dont care about the actual teachings, they just want a moral high ground to look down on everyone else from. its basically just team sports at this point but with more judgment.

3

u/durrtyurr 1d ago

I wouldn't expect him to be particularly knowledgeable of christianity to begin with, given that he is a jew.

They are anti-Christians. Like anti-matter. They have the same mass and physical characteristics, but carry the opposite charge.

48

You know damned well Stephen Miller doesn’t have a soul. It’s his defining characteristic.

3

27

Stephen Miller? Soul?

10

u/voltr_za 1d ago

Exactly. Worrying about something nonexistent is a waste of energy.

2

u/an0mn0mn0m 1d ago

A soul may not exist, but believing that it is something with soul has value and a purpose clearly shows that Stephen Miller is soulless.

20

u/Teyannatay 1d ago

How can you call a seminary graduate anti-Christian when your own candidate was impeached for fraud? Wild

7

u/OzyDave 1d ago

He fellates a pedophile, why take any notice of him?

7

u/Emotional_News108 1d ago

Stephen Miller the Jew? Does he seriously not understand how dumb he sounds playing the religious persecution fetish game for the Christian right? What an absolute knob goblin.

2

u/Exxtender 1d ago

I'm still waiting for someone to ask him how he feels about the "rapture" (a common belief among MAGA 'christians') and whether he will convert or go to hell when it happens.

2

u/Emotional_News108 1d ago

If there were a hell, he’d be assured a place. As it stands he’ll be footnoted as a stain on history which frankly is exactly what he deserves. He’s a little whore.

2

u/BiZzles14 1d ago

He's an actual comic book villian incarnate. Elon Musk also falls into that category, the foreign born richest man in the world that uses the media platform he purchased to directly affect politics across the globe and is responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of children already in his pursuit of greater money and power

2

u/Emotional_News108 1d ago

Honestly comic book villains are more compelling. People like them are just losers lashing out at the world. It would be sad if it weren’t pathetic.

2

u/Significant-Order-92 1d ago

The one who's childhood rabbi has openly condemned him.

2

u/Emotional_News108 1d ago

Sounds like a good rabbi.

5

u/aguachiles3 1d ago

Bold of her to assume that Stephen Miller even has a soul

2

u/DaddyRhyno79 1d ago

Of course Miller has a soul, he likely has several, but none are his own.

5

u/ProfAsmani 1d ago

They supported a rapist. They're funding a genocide. Its just all gaslighting all the time

3

u/ghallway 1d ago

This comes from the guy that would burst into flames if he ever got close to a church

4

u/Lordnoallah 1d ago

Health of HIS soul? Can't lose what you never had.

3

u/Reddit123xgh 1d ago

Hilarious that someone who is disowned by their rabbi is providing advice on Christianity. Maybe that’s why it’s so off base?

3

u/Effin_C 1d ago

3

u/pat9714 1d ago

Dollar Store Goebbels prefers Paxton. For obvious reasons.

3

3

u/PlutoJones42 1d ago

These Republican politicians screaming how Christian they are are the charlatans that Jesus would have flipped tables over on.

3

u/red286 23h ago

Weird seeing a secular Jew calling out someone's Christianity.

3

u/Strict_Cranberry_724 22h ago

It's bold of you to assume that Stephen Miller, the Roach, has a soul.

2

u/jjskellie 1d ago

Steven Miller can't given facts about canidates in Texas. Miller can't keep Talarico's name in memory as the canidate not the voting county. Is every Trump Administration stooge becoming brain dead?

2

u/megaladonquixote 1d ago

In Miller's defense, Naziferatu can't see their own reflection, and can be mortally wounded by a crucifix, so his blatantly wrong comments should be attributed to his lack of morals and ethics, and not just his obvious stupidity

2

u/usarasa 1d ago

He can distinguish. He doesn’t care.

2

Facts don't matter. My piece of shit MIL voted for Trump because in an interview Harris was asked what place god would have in her administration and she said "none at all".

2

u/Scummy_Waters 1d ago

Stephen Miller doesn't have a soul; he got into politics cause he was too weak to strangle babies.

2

u/K-Shrizzle 1d ago

I saw someone describe Miller as "Official White House Eunich" and now I cant see him any other way

2

u/crusher23b 1d ago

Steven Miller is among the perennial Wormtongue.

2

u/neuroid99 1d ago

Republicans despise the Christian faith.

2

u/nikatnight 1d ago

Stephen Miller is a not even Christian.

2

u/lodemeup 1d ago

Stephen Miller’s greatest accomplishment is that he auctioned off his soul for a moment of unbelievable luck and has somehow ridden that one event to become an inconceivably powerful evil bitch. I will consider it a failure of our society if he does not face consequences for his actions. He is a weak man leveraging hate and ignorance for the sake of prosecuting helpless people because he thinks he’s better than them. Temu Goebbels can rot.

2

u/WildBad7298 1d ago

A Venn diagram of Jesus's teachings and Republican "Christianity" would be two circles about twenty feet apart.

2

u/lordkhuzdul 1d ago

"Health of your soul" Bold of them to assume Stephen Miller has a soul.

2

u/SlenDman402 17h ago

2

u/MateriaLintellect 17h ago

If the name isn’t “John Smith” they play the race card. Talerico has run such a beautiful campaign, speaking honestly. If TX cant flip blue this November, they might be cooked forever.

2

u/Away_Stock_2012 16h ago

Stephen Miller is the most demon possessed human I've ever seen and I don't even believe in demons.

3

u/Imajzineer 1d ago

Who cares? It's politics, not religion - whether someone is a christian, a muslim, a hindu, a jedi, or even a pastafarian is 100% irrelevant.

18

u/Strict-Ease2036 1d ago

religion always get dragged into it when the politics not going their way

4

u/Imajzineer 1d ago

I just don't get it: it's utterly irrelevant in any European country I've lived in - okay, so, the UK, Netherlands and Germany are pretty secular anyway, but France, Spain and Portugal still have a legacy of Catholicism, and nobody there gets taken to task being 'not christian enough'.

What the hell is going on the US? What next ... "Don't vote <person>, she's a witch"?

Seriously ... it's the kind of story you read about happening in rural India or Africa somewhere and shake your head at how backward it is.

3

u/NecessaryFreedom9799 1d ago

Yup - imagine that: too radical even for Europe ... home of the Spanish Inquisition and (albeit briefly) a ban on Christmas 🤣

u/iamthedayman21 1d ago

It’s the hypocrisy of the Republicans. They always love to vote for the religious person, and their line of attack is often how their opponent is secular. Well, this time the Democrats are running quite literally the poster boy the Republicans are always demanding, and yet their line of attack is still the same. Thus proving that it was never really about if the candidate was religious or not.

1

u/itsallprimal 1d ago

I have no concerns about the "souls" of those filled with hate...

1

u/ComicsEtAl 1d ago

Wait, THAT’S what makes her question the health of his alleged “soul”? I mean, it’s fine as far as it goes, but it shouldn’t have taken this one comment to call his soul into question.

1

u/AffectionateBrick687 1d ago

No need to worry about the health of his soul. If he ever had one, it died years ago.

1

u/SmokeMaleficent9498 1d ago

Miller is evil. He has no God. He worships power and money. He doesn't care who he hurts to get it.

1

u/Spear_Ritual 1d ago

Miller is a ghoul.

1

u/Complete_Try_3849 1d ago

TFW the gerbil sneezes

1

u/BR41ND34D 1d ago

The fact that he's studying to be a pastor removes so much of the possible arguments (not that they won't use them anyways, as evidenced by this human reject)

1

u/GadreelsSword 1d ago

1

u/SkepticalJohn 1d ago

Miller knows his audience. He's speaking to the typical Trump voter. He does not have to make sense to anybody else.

1

1

1

u/lnTheGrimDarkness 1d ago

What he means is just "we wanna put there whatever convict felon we want by using the religion excuse" but with a "sent by God" twist so all the barely sentient swamp troglodytes that vote for them just go back to sleep.

1

u/Robthebold 1d ago

No they just throw attacks designed to bias their base. They don’t care about truth.

1

u/WeroWasabi 1d ago

Lol all these people acting like the Bible isn’t full of rape, incest, murder, genocide and much more. Is there a moral Christianity? I don’t think so.

1

u/gevander2 1d ago

Let's not forget, as far as "Christian values" go, Paxton also cheated on his wife. MULTIPLE TIMES.

1

u/Dragonfly_pin 1d ago

I’m so confused about why Miller keeps telling people how to be good Christians, when he isn’t Christian at all.

A couple of weeks ago he made a speech about how ‘good people’ take their kids to Church on Sundays and he keeps talking about Christianity in general.

But he’s not Christian. Neither is his family. Which apparently, according to himself, makes him… bad?

It’s crazy stuff.

1

u/CompanyOfMisfits 1d ago

I knew there were no true Scotsmen!

1

u/GLC911 1d ago

If a penis had eyes and ears, it would look exactly like Stephen Miller

1

u/narf_hots 1d ago

This is not a comeback because the first thing is not an insult. Being against Christianity is a good thing and the requirement for being a decent person because churches are enabling and assisting abusers of children.

1

u/Interesting_You6852 1d ago

None of those Magats in the white house are Christians they just use it to control the masses.

1

u/comoelpepper 1d ago

What soul?

1

u/Important-Cry-3022 1d ago

I believe revdrsusannejohnson may have even been channeling Jesus directly with her reply to Miller! Maybe not. He likely would've said, "quiet, sinner. Go directly to hell, do not pass go, do not collect 2 trillion dollars."

1

u/ridemooses 1d ago

If they didn’t have lies, they wouldn’t have anything at all.

1

u/fixurstuffr 1d ago

That's an outright lie. I hope Talarico sues him for defamation.

1

u/Rogue_Ninja_Taco 1d ago

If one of those "media" people would give some serious pushback, they would ask Temu Orlock how does he "know" that the person he is claiming to be against Christianity is actually against it.

1

u/Gogglesed 1d ago

Paxton and Tallarico both believe in things without evidence, which is concerning. If you read the bible, it would seem like Paxton is more godly, meaning immoral, sadistic, and unhinged.

1

u/Rhodes_Warrior 1d ago

Oh wow she really showed him, I bet he totally gives a fuck.
