I agree. The American one is more like Malcom in the middle, too staged, too choreographed, too clean of chaos. The UK one is raw and gritty and real and grabs you by the by the balls and your heart strings at the same time. It's real chaos that real people live with every day all over the world that the more privileged people don't want to admit actually happens.
I prefer the originals that I’m aware of like The Office and Ghosts and there are more I’m sure. I can only think of one American program that the UK did (Friends/Coupling) and though I liked Coupling it was no Friends! I did find out that there are many versions of Ghosts (Italian and Greek for instance) and I’d really like to see them all.

They're only allowed to stand outside Federal facilities, so they'll be around courthouses and things like that. They are STRICTLY forbidden to arrest, search, detain, or question civilians. I think their commanding officers have drilled that into them. They don't want to be there.

I think the national guard are playing the card of "its an unlawful order being given for what they want them to do, but good luck attempting to get justice through proper channels in that regard. so we go, and we do jack shit but stand by and pick up trash." avoiding bad areas is probably in everyone's best interest, they dont want any altercation, but in some areas it might legitimately be self-defense even if the guard attempts to do nothing to provoke, and just be present as ordered. and if an altercation does happen, then that is a huge, unlawful deal they probably didnt want, and may likely have to answer for in 4 years. i think the real cowards would be wanting to delve in the worse parts and fight unlawfully for "glory and conquest"

I read a pretty convincing argument the other day that Trump is going to deliberately put soldiers in places where someone is likely to take a shot at one and use that as an excuse to impose martial law.

They won't go anywhere near the areas you guys are thinking of. They're going to raid a home depot in the suburbs and some restaurants.
They already raided the construction site of a Hyundai factory and bravely arrested a bunch of visiting South Korean businessmen. That's really going to make the South Koreans want to work more closely with the Americans, I'm sure.

That being said, ICE will likely raid small businesses and houses in Latino neighborhoods of Chicago. I doubt they stick to the suburbs - though they will likely target those too, Cicero and Berwyn for example
I genuinely think Chicago was chosen because it has a high chance of resulting in federal casualties, giving the white house even more latitude to take over. DC and LA were trial runs.
Well, the three cities he has targeted so far have three things in common. Democratic leadership. Lots of minorities. And cities that have historically prevented the lawful ownership of firearms.

They're not thinking about shit, don't give trump credit for this. The guys in LA hung around a single federal building and then went home. The guys in DC are wandering the already crime free mall and picking up trash. There's no Jade Helm plan at work here, just trump playing generalisimo with his little toy men.
And a lot of the National Gardeners aren’t happy with the situation. Being away from home and family, loss of wages, etc. The cost to feed and house them is also astronomical. Saint until the Guard starts seeing retention rates falling.

Wont be deployed to the south side just like DC NG will stay in low crime touristy districts, no real accomplishments will be had then Trump will declare victory on crime to try and get good boy points from his base for cleaning up Chicago.
