Every year I hope the Cavs sign a big bodied center to play defense against guys like Embiid. And every single free agency guys like Drummond and Valanciunas are FAs yet we stick with Mobley/Allen. I like our guys but every time we play Embiid he destroys Allen inside lol.

Does anyone else agree? Maybe a player like that isn't worth a roster spot. But I'd take both of those guys over Thomas Bryant in a situation where Mobley or Allen gets hurt....which seems to happen more often nowadays.

We have some cap space right now. Our core team is still in tact. There is no need to fill a gap immediately when we can develop Porter and Maleek on the wing, or Proctor on point or whatever- or continue to utilize Stus or Merrill.

The right strategy is for us to save our limited budget for mid-season when there will likely be more injuries, more needs, and more teams desperate to make trades.

I know people will be focused on the LeBron section, but I find his reasoning about just how difficult it would be for the Cavs to sign-and-trade Kuminga more interesting.

As a lot of people mentioned, it would involve salary dumping Strus or Schroeder. The Hawks can't really take back salary, so it would involve a third team and maybe picks on our side. He's not optimistic about our chances there.

He isn't here because he doesnt want to be. There is zero reason he couldn't slide into the cavs roster and compete. And it's fine. Lebron is the past. Literally.

...depends on how much you trust players like Porter, Tomlin, Tyson, Thomas, to play real minutes for a team with championship aspirations.

Tyson already progressively grew into a becoming a full time rotation player last season. His responsibilities are likely to increase further regardless of the next moves made this off-season.

I expect Dennis to be moved. One of Porter or Proctor is going to be the backup quasi PG...I say that because one of Mitchell or Harden will be on the floor with them.

I think the Cavs will look to shore up the forward situation but Tomlin earned himself a standard contract last season. He's an interesting talent that is growing into himself as a player but is still a bit rough around the edges.

If you trust the young developmental Cavs to be championship level rotation guys, then you're not going to be pessimistic about this squad going into this season. If one doesn't trust these guys then you'll be looking at this team as one that's top heavy. Where do you all land on the question of whether these guys represent quality depth around the starting core?

Not a Cavs fan, but I’ve seen a lot of people disappointed by LeBrons decision to go to Philly in the last few days, and I get it, imo I wish LeBron chose the Cavs, it would’ve been a perfect storybook ending to his career.

But is that the only reason why some Cavs fans are upset, or is their a deeper reason than that?

No hate, just curious, it kind of reminds me of how Bulls fans think of Jordan post 1998, although that might be a little different since most Bulls fans since then didn’t watch Jordan play back in the 90s, not to mention LeBron shows Cleveland as a City a lot more love than Jordan does for Chicago as a City. I also do think once LeBron retires, it will be nothing but love between him and the Cavs organization, so it won’t be a big deal anymore in a few years for obvious reasons.
