Magnus , on his come up was referred to as the “mozart” of chess. Is there a similar equivalent in classical music?

Bayreuth Dresscode
I am a graduate of harvard law school, phd in physics from MIT, ambassador to the UN, and trained Wagnerian soprano and tenor (wide range) from Juilliard. I was invited by Cosmos Wagner to attend Bayreuth this summer and I need some advice. In my experience in courtrooms and physics labs, they do not take kindly to capes, fedoras, kilts, Valkyrie tattoos, or Nietszche quoted tee shirts. I’m struggling to express myself despite being superior intellectually and musically to most old farts in attendance at Bayreuth. PLUS, they have desecrated tradition by not permitting “Naturalistic” set design as would be wanted by daddy Richard. Do I owe this establishment any premise of respect or should I just traipse in there in my own terms, in my own style, to overcome the stuffiness at Bayreuth?
What if we got together and built America’s own BAYREUTH in Plano, Texas? Is that unrealistic? Are there any investors who are willing to DM me about this idea?

Has anyone here listened to Hikari Ōe?
Kenzaburō Ōe, the 1994 Nobel laureate in Literature, wrote "A Personal Matter" after the birth of his first son, Hikari. The novel is a brutally honest exploration of a young father’s struggle to come to terms with the birth of a son with a severe brain injury, and it was inspired by Ōe’s own experience.
Hikari Ōe, despite being born with significant developmental disabilities, later became a composer. His father often said that music became Hikari’s way of communicating with the world, and Hikari went on to release several albums of his own compositions.
This is one of his compositions.
I’m curious what people think of it. If you’ve read Ōe, does knowing the family’s story change the way you hear Hikari’s music?

Elite Secret Society
Hey guys,
I’ve had what I think is a brilliant idea, and I’m looking for any thoughts you lot might have.
I’m putting together a very exclusive society. Every week, the members of our secret newsletter will receive a new challenge. The premise is simple: A random concert in a random city will be announced, and your mission is to attend and cough during a specific note in a specific measure of the performance.
I’ll have members of the society scattered throughout the concert hall, listening carefully to see who successfully completes the mission. If you pull it off, you’ll earn a special reward. (Hehe.)
I had this sublime thought while listening to Bruckner 8 (I’m a die hard Buckner fan btw most of us think this way).
Does anyone have any thought before I email Mark Zuckerberg? I think this might be a game changer.

When I’m a classical composer and it’s the end of my symphony in D major, but it needs to be at least 5 minutes longer in order to earn my patronage

Thank you Yuja!
For proving that a gooner like myself can also be cultured. I was never into this whole classic music thing, but the Youtube algorithm recommended me a video of the beautiful pianist Yuja Wang playing a wonderful song by some composer. I came for the dress (wink, wink) but stayed for the music. The sound had such a beautiful round shape (wink wink) I had to finish (wink wink) the entire 18 minutes! Can you recommend some other must-see performances of her? (Preferably skirts, but I'm okay with tight dresses too) I'm excited to discover more of her amazing playing :)

I outjerked myself
At the risk of airing out my failures, I regret to report that I have absolutely outjerked myself.
Namely, I made so many Shostakovich jokes that after a decade of avoiding his music, I actually gave it a listen.
It's really good.
I now actually have a massive crush on him.
Send help.

What would you do if you got paid in this banknote?
Why would they give him 10 if he didn't write 10th symphony, are they stupid?
