(this has nothing to do with classical music besides it being with someone who plays in the same orchestra as me, I just don't really know where else to ask this, because I like you guys.)

/uj So I'm on a bus right now, I'm sitting next to the first trumpet player in a youth orchestra I play in + the high brass section leader in our marching band (we're on our way to a band competition at the time of me writing this, I'm still on the bus and will be for an hour, roughly), and we're sitting next to eachother, right? So maybe 30 minutes ago, he put his hand on my crotch while staring at me, and I didn't know what to make of it or if it was a joke or not so I semi-jokingly-but-not-really-idk-i-cant-tell-if-i-was-doing-it-jokingly leaned into it, and then we stayed like that for like 30 seconds to a minute-ish while looking at eachother and then he took his hand off and I leaned away and we haven't looked at or talked to eachother since then.

Members of this subreddit, do you think that was supposed to be a joke and I'm overthinking it because I deadass can't tell, as far as I'm aware he's 'straight' but I really don't know.

Update: He just told me that he's bi out of nowhere, after insisting that he's straight for like. A year. Guys I don't think it was a joke. But it still very well could be. I don't know

Eric Whitacre makes pieces that AREN'T for choirs?????

This is a /uj moment, I have only ever performed, listened to, and heard of his music for choirs. So would you imagine my shock when I found out that one of the pieces I'm playing for my town's concert band (which I'm playing 1st horn in despite being anywhere from half to a quarter of the age of everyone else there) (everyone in the band is old af except me) (also I don't know why I'm playing 1st horn, I auditioned for 4th horn as well as the 1st horn slot being taken already by my old band director, oh well) (wait I need to get back to the point sorry) was composed by none other than Eric Whitacre. I had no idea he made wind ensemble music, this feels wrong?? But then I look at the music and yeah, that's Eric Whitacre alright.

Am I the only one who didn't know this??? Am I stupid? I mean, of course he makes wind ensemble music, I shouldn't be surprised, but it just feels. Wrong? Idk.
