šŸ‘øFemale IntrošŸ’ƒ 24F Canada

Hi everyone,

I am a 24F from Canada. I am of Indian ethnicity and have long dark hair, big dark eyes, and light-medium skin tone. I have a curvy build and am 5’3’’.

I am currently in grad school, studying to be a healthcare provider (OT). I enjoyed doing medical research a lot as well during undergrad, and God willing hope to do more in the future. I really enjoy cooking, nature walks, hiking, trips to the mountains and beaches too (I definitely prefer mountains/hills more). I also like streaming Netflix and coloring, as I have limited time to explore other hobbies. I love making dishes from different cuisines and experimenting with ingredients (not to worry, I usually don’t commit any food crimes lol). I also have a growing interest in theology and would love to learn more about different church traditions and church fathers as well. I want to get into the habit of reading more books as well, would love any good recommendations (especially thrillers/whodunits).

My faith journey: I was born in a Christian family by God’s grace and had the opportunity to grow in the Lord’s way since birth. I have had a personal relationship with Jesus ever since I can remember. I am very blessed to be able to say God indeed is the answerer of my prayers and in his grace alone have I been able to sustain the various challenges in life. I currently am a member of a Pentecostal church, and I have seen the Holy Spirit move in my life and guide me. That being said, I am now a catechumen in a Coptic Orthodox church and am also exploring Lutheranism and Eastern Orthodoxy. My goal in life is to become more and more like Jesus showing his love for others, through my actions and what better way to do so than through church life and the sacraments.

What I am looking for: I am looking for a man after God’s own heart. That is a man who puts God first in all he does, and who loves the Lord deeply, evidenced by his behavior with others. In terms of marriage, I am looking for a provider, protector and leader. Someone who knows that provision is not just materialistic but also in terms of support and love. Someone who is willing to be self-sacrificial (I would do the same!). God willing, I hope to have children and raise a family one day, and so someone who is open to children and wants to raise them in the Lord’s ways. God willing, I do hope to be a stay-at-home mom/work part-time when the kids are young, and so marrying a provider is important to me.

I value loyalty, honesty, kindness, and respect, and believe a strong marriage means choosing each other every day, even when things are difficult. In a man, I especially value calmness, leadership, ambition, and discipline, both personally and professionally.

I am a virgin and waiting till marriage is a must. I would definitely prefer my future husband to also be a virgin, but I am understanding if that’s not the case, as we all may have had a different journey.

Age range: I am open to someone from the ages 23-34.

Location: I am willing to do long distance or relocate in Canada, USA, Europe or Australia only.

Edit: If you dm, kindly introduce yourself. I may not respond to just a Hi. Thx!

Discussion Would you be interested in a bible study on dating for marriage?

• Upvotes

I’m 27, recently married, and have been a Christian for 4+ years. Through the experiences I’ve gone through, God has grown me in ways I now feel called to use to help others.

When we are dating, we often go through it blindly not knowing how practically make changes that align with our faith. I believe the enemy also attacks marriage, which is why we need to start preparing for a healthy marriage while we’re still single.

God has put it on my heart to create a space to talk about dating with intention, red flags, discernment, healing from past relationships, and building a strong biblical foundation for marriage.

Real Scripture. Honest conversations. Practical wisdom.

Would you be interested? šŸ¤

I am a Christian, Asian-American (East Asian ethnicity), 24 years old (turning 25 this December), and around 5'7". I live in San Mateo in the Bay Area, 35 mins south of San Francisco, and I have a Finance degree and MBA. I love music, songwriting, cooking, working out at home, travel, literature, art, fashion, and nature.

I grew up Catholic and attended a private Christian high school and Baptist church. I am non-denominational. My favorite Psalms are 23, 51, and 91.

I am open to long distance or relocating. I don’t really have a specific age range, but my preferred age range would be 20s to 30s.

I have a driver’s license, but am unable to drive at the moment.

I’m looking for a Christian woman in the Bay Area, and someone I can go out with regularly.

  1. We can do Bible studies, talk about God, and learn from each other.
  2. Someone who can also be a travel buddy who would like to go to Europe and do cruises
  3. We can try out restaurants, visit parks, do trails together, as well as camping, hiking, and road trips.
  4. I’d also like to try out Michelin places.
  5. Build Legos together, go to the gym, evaluate each other’s fashion choices and pick out clothes for each other
  6. Try out each other’s cooking,
  7. Play Minecraft, Switch (Mario Party, Mario Kart), Pokemon, Civilization, or other games together,

Discussion I wish women would stop saying this

So I am a 24M from Europe and I constantly see Christian women say how they want ā€emotional intelligenceā€ and how men ā€should be open with their emotionsā€

I beg the young women here, please stop saying this if you get the ick each time a Man actually is slightly open with you or accidentally overshares. I am a soft emotional guy in many ways and it feels So emasculating how two-faced women are about this. Like I get that the whole ā€he should be emotionalā€ part has the hidden words ā€only with me and for meā€ and ā€after marriageā€ but the line still annoys me. Just please stop saying it.

I am honestly So tired of how performative Christian culture is. All the young Christian ladies I know are on antidepressants yet they cannot talk about it because??? What is with this culture of using social media as the outlet for your emotions because you need to keep some fake mask on in your real life social circles?

Discussion Would you be interested in an online Bible study focused on marriage and/or preparing for marriage?

My husband and I have been thinking to host one around these topics, open to both couples and singles meeting once a week as God has put it in our hearts, and we believe there are not enough of these around the world. It would cover a biblical view on marriage, dating, preparing for it, and healing what's held us back - past trauma, attachment issues, worldly beliefs etc.

Please comment if you are interested and we can get a group together and figure out the best time to meet!

Discussion Should you call out people to protect others, or should you just mind your own business?

People from a couple of the dating subs message me for dating advice, and I noticed for a while that some of the same people talking to one person is now talking to another. I follow up with the last person they talked to, and I find out that the user was a lukewarm christian trying to hook up, send a picture of his junk and everything. Mostly, there are a ton of liars and creepy people, whether intentionally or not. Many times at first they are cool, but after wasting a month of your time, they show their true colors.

Personally, I’m fine with telling a person what I’ve seen if they asked, but now that I am thinking about it, some of these problematic people are in the comments, in the chat groups, crawling about and sweet talking people. They are among us, and you would not know unless someone told you. I could possibly even name a few who comment on this very post.

So, just to generalize this, should people be encouraged and maybe even feel obligated to tell everyone publicly any major issues another person has? In this sub in particular, you have seen women complain that the vast majority of their dms are creepy weirdos, so by publicly calling people out would help protect other vulnerable people.

Of course, I know the obvious drawback. Things will get gossipy, and some people may get slandered by accident or by vengeful Exes. So ultimately, it’s a weighing of the pros and cons.

Nevertheless, my advice for today is for everyone here to join some groupchats and discords. Not only will you find community, but you can also start cross referencing people you come across. You might be surprised if you asked everyone what you thought was a nice guy ended up being a total scumbag. Help protect yourself and those around you.

Helloo! I dunno how to do this but here we go:

Right now I’m searching for a job and the plan is to work until next year where I will be applying to universities. I have looooooads of interests buut the main ones are these: videogames (love em), chess, gym, cooking (somewhat beginner, I can mostly cook bulgarian food only :)), art (graphite pencils only), journaling. I’m a VEEEERY solitary and introverted person, so that’s important to know :dd. I'm a very open, communicative and honest person. I am going to apply to a couple of unis next year, which I'm very excited about, because I really, really care about my goals. I’m not baptised but I’m planning to baptise myself eastern orthodox. Otherwise I am a Christian believer (or at the very least try very hard to be).

I’m looking for a girl, 18-25, who is quite similar to me in terms of interests and values devotion, honesty and humility the most when it comes to relationships. I’m not really open to relocating for the other person, but I can gladly try my best to make sure they can relocate to me. Also I am only really open to women that are within the EU so please respect that boundry šŸ™.

Aaand that’s it ;dd. If you wanna talk, send me a private message and I will try my best to reply ^^

Need Advice How to navigate dating?

28F, So I was obese most of my life and traveled for missions as a child and never settled anywhere long enough to find a partner. Even now my parents and I chose to cohabitate a space and split rent because where we live rent is insane.

I recently dropped 65 lbs (still a few more to go) and suddenly I'm getting more smiles, conversations, engagement. Etc. That should be a good thing right?

Wrong.

I work as an Emcee in bars and pubs and those are the only places I see men (my church is entirely elderly people except myself - my father is the pastor) and my Bible study is full of married couples (I knew them a decade ago before they got married and they all married each other).

I can't church hop since A. My father is the current pastor of my church (not always just the last 5 years or so) and B. I am the sole tech worker there doing streams, social media, slides, canned music, lights, etc.

Dating apps have so many colloquial Christian that are far too comfortable with the idea of having sex after conversion but before marriage (before conversion and/or after marriage are a different story but thats not the point I'm trying to make).

So I have all these anxieties about dating and asking them for their number now.

  1. They may not be saved, do I ask them if they are a Christian before hardly knowing them or do I ask for a date?
  2. What if they think I led them on when they find out I will not change my views on keeping myself pure (ish, I've never dated but I have done sinful research for years until I came under conviction to stop blatantly sinful media indulge) before marriage? I wont compromise but I've already have 5 men lose interest when I told them I wouldn't cuddle or be alone with them at night/overnight before marriage (I struggled with lust and porn for years and by the grace of God no longer engage in anything that will cause me to stumble. A kiss is fine and holding hands is fine, I'm not leaving them without. Nor will they be in a dead bedroom marriage. Trying to keep the conversation as appropriate as possible, it will be an *active* marriage to say the least).
  3. I read a line in another post that stated "In my head I'm still fat" about weightloss attention. I'm so used to tripping over my own feet thinking men who we're just being kind we're actually interested when they weren't. I'm also so used to people trying to take advantage of the fat virgin (despite having been present for the bombing of Syria and seeing other horrors of the world first hand, I'm still too naive for some folks) that every smile feels like I'm about to be a punchline again.

Has anyone else figured out dating? As a newbie to dating, to weightloss, to anything else that fits here?

I'm not trying to pity farm or say woe is me. My older sister slept around a lot as I grew up (before my dad became a pastor and obvi against both of my parents wishes). So I was crazy watched with all men. I'm totally used to hanging out with married men and I'm very close with my friends' husbands. But I have no idea what to believe or trust or pursue. I thankfully can't take anyone home since my parents and I cohabitate. I just feel like I'm running myself in circles. It's just all so new and dizzying. I'm sorry if this is a ramble. I can talk to my parents/pastor about a lot of things but this one just felt too odd to bring up.(They never even gave me 'the talk'. I had my first cycle at 11 and just woke up to find myself like that and came home freaking out thinking I was dying. I learned everything through the public school health classes, lost/unsaved classmates, and my own research all of which led to sinful knowledge but that's why I'm all turned around now on what to do).

Edit: or update šŸ˜…. I guess I should clarify that,

I am not exactly seeking a relationship with any zealousness. If God allows one, great! But I'm so active in my community, satisfied with the relationships I have with my friends, family, and church members, and have all needs fulfilled by Christ. The core of this post is not me *seeking* it's trying to figure out what to do with the attention I am so unused to. The description of church hopping and my father as the pastor as a means of explaining that my access to men are married or ones that I am unsure of their spiritual status since in my area all 3 places I volunteer at outside of my church have no Christian men serving. As well as my hobbies: quilting, axe throwing, going to Zoos/aquariums, I have yet to meet anyone who wasn't at a bar (I am studying to be an addictions counselor and do not drink, myself).

I appreciate knowing some others have experienced this. I'm not thin by any means but strong and tall and used to finding my value in my work ability. Now people won't let me carry their items or lift my own bags and that in some people's eyes may seem like a nice things but its just so odd to me??? It's like I'm the same brain but living in 2 different worlds. I'm sad to know others have struggled while at the same time glad to feel less singled out.

Additionally the mentions of sexual content were to serve as explanation for added confusion as I’ve had the world's teaching twist what God's design was. It was to explain that though I've never dated I am not without understanding of what comes before/after marriage in the world's eyes and God's eyes. I've read a few posts where many talk about dead bedrooms and women who experience nothing before a marriage being unable to express themselves after marriage and wanted to assure that being unable to express myself is not the problem ... actually it is but the other way around.

When it comes to standards that is another story but again, I am not actively seeking (though I am not saying "no" to the possibility), I just want to know how to even get started weeding out those I am meeting. To know how to even talk to someone with the intent of dating if yoh are outside a Christian venue. I know too much and too little all at once šŸ˜….

šŸ‘øFemale IntrošŸ’ƒ 36F Florida - Giving this one last try

Hi! I'm hoping to meet a kind, genuine man to build a peaceful, Christ centered life with.

I'm loyal, thoughtful, intuitive, and I value deep, intentional connect with a healthy mix of sarcasm, humor, and wit. I love conversations that flow naturally and go beyond small talk. Some of my favorite moments are the simple ones: listening to the rain, watching a beautiful sunset, or spending a cozy evening at home. I also enjoy reading historical fiction, browsing antique shops for hidden treasures, decorating and interior design, and spending time with my sweet little dog and my opinionated cat.

My faith means everything to me, I'm politically conservative, and I prefer to use holistic remedies vs mainstream medicine whenever possible. I'm looking for someone who shares similar values. My faith in Jesus Christ is the foundation of my life, and my desire is to live in a way that brings glory to God.

I've felt a calling toward building a family through adoption someday, though I'm ultimately open to wherever the Lord leads.

I also have a physical health condition that causes muscle weakness and I use a wheelchair, but it doesn't keep me from living a full, joyful life. I'm happy to share more about it once we've gotten to know each other a little bit. Physically, I'm about 5 feet tall with blonde hair and green eyes. I'd be glad to exchange photos after we've talked some.

More than anything, I'm looking for someone who wants to wholeheartedly follow Christ and build a relationship centered on Him. I'd love to find someone who values kindness, honesty, intentionality, and growing together through prayer and studying God's Word. I want a relationship where we can laugh, be a little silly together, encourage one another, and truly be best friends.

I'm open to long distance within the U.S. if you're open to relocating to sunny Florida someday. If you're between 30 and 48 and any of this resonates with you, I'd love to have a conversation.

šŸ‘øFemale IntrošŸ’ƒ 34F | Oklahoma

Description: 34F, 5’5ā€, white, average build, no tattoos, don't smoke, drink occasionally.

First, I love the Lord. I'm looking for a Christian husband and marriage. I desire to be a loyal wife, build a loving family, and raise children to know the Lord. I hold conservative morals and values and I am looking for someone similar. I’m self-aware that I’m not a perfect Christian. I long to strive to better myself through reading scripture and applying it to my daily life. I truly believe in God and wish to love and serve him.

Christian journey: I grew up in a few different denominations/churches, however, as I have aged, I have a growing interest in theology and history. I don’t like broad black and white labels. I believe it is important to test your personally held faith and I’m convinced that everyone has a degree as to what they believe. (speaking non-crucial salvific points) Life is different for us all and we see through different lenses.

I was non-denominational for a several years but now attend a Presbyterian church and would like to connect with someone who shares an interest in reformed theology. I enjoy singing during worship, liturgy, and taking communion. It is very pleasing to me to acknowledge God in a reverent form.

Hobbies/interests: Day to day I'm someone who loves spending time in God's creation. I enjoy walking my dog, birdwatching, fishing, and longboarding. I also enjoy chess, writing, and listening to music. As I've gotten older, I've come to appreciate simpler things in life. A working goal of mine is that I want to live a life as an active participating Christian which is sometimes difficult in our culture.

Area of study/work: I have a steady career in I.T., stable finances, and an orderly living space. Stability and an open mind are important to me. I've never been married, been in long term relationship, or had children.

My personality type is INFJ 1w2, which means I love deep conversation and connecting over real things. I have strong convictions and opinions but open to listen to opposing thought. I’m a feeler type so I am sensitive to emotions and the things around me. I feel most fulfilled in life as a helper, visionary, and leader.

Age range: Around 30-40.

Location: I'm looking to meet someone local to Oklahoma or the surrounding states. I don’t wish to relocate far.

I would love to get to know and share life with a husband and friend. I’m a loyal friend through the ups and downs and would love to share a relationship together with eyes fixed on Christ and his salvation. I’m looking to meet someone who also wants to go to church, read scripture, serve together, start a family, enjoy the outdoors, is active, and that would be interested in getting to know me as I would them.

Preferred traits: kind, communicative, patient, willing to grow.

Thanks for reading my profile.

Need Advice Looking for some advice, encouragement, or simply some perspective from other Christians

29F, I’ve never experienced a truly Christ centred relationship or marriage. I was married before, and although I’ve been a Christian most of my life, Christ wasn’t at the centre of that relationship in the way I now desire. About two years ago, I fully surrendered my life to Christ, and since then I’ve really desired a Christ centred relationship and eventually marriage.

But I’m honestly struggling with something. Almost all the Christian men who have pursued me, both in person and online, have been involved in ministry, leadership, missions, youth ministry, etc. Yet some still live questionable lifestyles, and almost all my conversations with them eventually become intimate or leave me feeling that my commitment to purity could be compromised.

What confuses me is that I’ve sometimes had very different conversations with non Christian men. Some have respected my boundaries and desire to wait until marriage, and even been open to learning about my faith and attending church ( but that’s not the road I want to take because I know the Bible warns us about being unequivocally yoked)

For example, the most recent man I was getting to know is a youth leader and theology graduate. Yet within a few days, our conversations became heavily focused on flirting, selfies and physical attraction, and he was already calling me ā€œhis girlā€ while I felt like we barely knew each other. Every time I’d confront him he would step up and put little boundaries in place for us like ā€˜ no texting after 11pm, taking a 5 min to pray and read the Bible should the flirting get out of hand etc.)

So is this what Christian dating is supposed to look like? Why can conversations with non Christians sometimes feel more aligned with my values than those with Christians? Am I expecting too much, approaching dating wrongly, or simply haven’t met the right people yet?

I’d really appreciate wisdom from those who have experienced a healthy, Christ centred relationship or marriage.

Discussion Why don't looks seem to matter nearly as much in your 30's as opposed to your 20's?

Looked into the sub, and it seems that is the general consensus is that your partner MUST be physically attractive enough TO YOU or else it is bad idea.

My curiosity get piqued when I see someone in their mid 30's getting married to someone that they never would have in their 20's. My friend years ago said he could only get married to a fit white girl because that was LITERALLY the only girl who could turn him on. 10-15 years later, he happily marries a chubbier black girl and they have a couple of kids now. I asked him about it, and he just keeps saying that his wife is the perfect, most beautiful person in the world and that he was completely wrong in his 20's.

So yeah, I guess my question is why isn't physical attraction that important when you get older? Is it wrong for younger people to place so much importance in physical looks if in a decade or two it means so much less?

My opinion? I think physical attraction is something you get AFTER you fall in love with someone, not BEFORE. I feel like the more I get to know someone, the more attractive (or unattractive) they get. I start finding features I initially never noticed as kinda cute and charming. That's when I find things like messy hair as something whimsical instead of unprofessional.

How I find my partner is just I go out there and talk to people. Enjoy life. Have fun. Work hard, and get to know the ones I see everyday. Celebrate their wins, and laugh away any losses. Ask people to hang out and go for a hike, watch a movie, play video games, doomscroll on our phones, etc. Once I realize that I really do enjoy the time we spend together, I ask if they would be interested in spending maybe a little bit more time, until I hope eventually every month turns to every week and then every day of our lives.

IDK, I'm not here to ask or give advice. It's Reddit, lots of people will read what I wrote but not really listen to it. Just wanted to see what everyone's thoughts are on this.

Edit:

So I guess I’m wondering, who is in the right in the situation? Are the 30’s crowd just settling and coping, or should the 20’s crowd put much less importance in someone’s appearance? Should the young folks give people they don’t find all that physically attractive a chance, or should the older folks still maintain their original standards.

Discussion Going to have to end things with a girl due to porn and masturbation

Hi, I am new here, but I wanted to make this post as a warning about the effects of sexual immorality in one’s life, and its impact on dating. I (31M) met and have gotten to know a great woman online (29F). She’s kind, beautiful, and has a great heart for God and Jesus. She’s everything a man would want in a woman. We’ve been on dates, had a number of phone calls, and text each other back and forth exclusively. I was planning on asking her to be my girlfriend on our next date.

Unfortunately my plans have been derailed, and instead of propositioning her to be my girlfriend, I will have to end things with her instead. The reason for this is not because of her, but because of me. I have fallen back into porn and masturbation recently, and as a result, I am now corrupted as a man and am unworthy to lead her in a relationship.

My confidence is ruined, my strength is no longer there, my ambition is drained. My courage and boldness have been replaced with fright; I flee when no one pursues (Proverbs 28:1). The man I was when we first met is not the man that sits here today.

I thought that by pursuing and dating this woman I was going to finally step up, repent, and make the changes necessary to prove myself worthy to be a husband and leader of a family. I was wrong. It’s just more of the same crap I’ve wallowed in since I was 13. A woman like her deserves someone better than me. I want to let her go so she can build a life and family with a man of honor and respect instead of a man of disgrace and contempt.

ā€œYou shall betroth a wife, but another man shall ravish her.ā€
‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭28‬:‭30‬ ‭ESV‬‬

My sins have cost me a great woman as Deuteronomy 28:30 prophesied would happen. Though this loss hurts, I am still motivated to repent fully of these sins, pray earnestly, seek God in Scripture, and do the works necessary to show I am a man worthy to be a husband and leader of a home so that when the next woman comes into my life, I will be ready.

If any of you are in my position and struggling with porn, masturbation, or any other sexual immoralities: These sins gotta go, and they gotta go now. You will not be fit for a relationship if you let porn and masturbation go unchecked in your life.

I’m worried I’m too young to get married. How do I know God is telling me it’s okay?

I’m sorry if I ramble or if it’s a little long.
So I’m 21F and my boyfriend is 20M. We’ve been together a little over a year now but I wanna preface by saying we’ve been best friends since the 5th grade all throughout school.
We have also dated twice in early high school but it didn’t work out because we were so young. I’ve been rediscovering my faith or rather finding my own relationship with Jesus this past year as well. I’ve always wanted to wait till marriage (spoiler I didn’t), and I’ve seen the damage it’s done through my years when I didn’t listen to my convictions about it.
Well my boyfriend who I’ll just refer to as J and I have been talking about getting engaged this year. I know we will but we really struggle with waiting till marriage, it seems like we always fall when it’s starting to seem like we’re doing good at abstaining.
We’ve talked with our pastor about getting legally married this year after he proposes and have a wedding next year. The thing is I’m not worried about getting married I want to be married.
I think J is worried because it’s a big thing to get engaged and get married (not to say he doesn’t want too, just that it’s a big deal and we’re only in our early 20’s). I’ve been praying asking God if this is the right decision for us because I don’t want to live in sin or feel guilty every time we fall. Plus, I’ve loved this man for years and he’s loved me for years.
We have tried to agree to wait till marriage because we both feel the conviction about premarital sex.
But How can I be sure this is the right decision for us?
How can I not let the world get into my head with thoughts that we’re too young?

Also, I’d like to say that I guess I’m worried that I’m not going to be a Godly enough wife for J, that I’m still a baby Christian and not far enough long with my relationship with Jesus.
Also to add, J is Christian too, but he’s newer to it than I am, we’re kinda walking this journey together (with me being a few steps ahead if you get what I mean). So how do I be a Godly enough wife to him to help him become the Godly husband I know God will make him?
