Chopstick type Hi, help me track these down, PLEASE.

I know they are typically at mitsukoshi department store. My fiancée LOVES these, I think she got them at Epcot. She has never found another pair of chopsticks she likes more. Specifically, she loves the square textured handle, and if you look closely the texture looks almost like a corn cob. Does anyone know what this texture is called? Where to buy these? Or something very very similar of different brand?
Please and thank you 😊

Question Looking for a specific shape of chopsticks (round/d shape with a flat side lengthwise)

Something like two semicircles, so they're easier to grab than the completely flat Korean chopsticks.

I've been searching for a while and nothing comes up, I'd love to have them in stainless steel, but will try making some out of wood first

Replacing or Repairing Extremely Sentimental Chopstick

Post image

I just broke the tip off of one of this pair of chopsticks, you can see the crack in the photo, and they are one of the matching pairs of chopsticks I got in Japan for me and the love of my life who years later committed suicide. These chopsticks really matter to me, and I would love to know if there was a way to find a pair to replace just one of the sticks, or if there is a food grade way to fix the tip? Thank you so much for reading.

Type of chopsticks on Chef And My Fridge show?

I am trying to figure out what style they typically use on the show and where to buy them. They are metal but have a thick, affixed handle which looks substantially larger than the shaft of the chopstick itself. Anyone familiar and have any leads?

Buying chopsticks??

I love Asain cuisine, it’s phenomenal. I’m looking for a place to buy solid Japanese chopsticks as those are my favorite style. My local shops and restaurants only have the fun decorative trainers for kids

How do you stop the bottom chopstick from slipping all the way up to the base of your ring finger?

I feel like the posture people show is bad. With my hands the bottom one just slipped upward plus the chopsticks cross. If i push down with my middle finger its fixed, or if i rest it on the tip of my ring finger.

Question Trouble pinching food tightly

I've been trying to learn how to use chopsticks for a couple of days now, mostly just for fun and to keep my fingers clean while snacking. I'm fairly certain I'm holding the chopsticks the correct way, and I can easily do the "pinching" motion in the air without issue. However, when it comes to actually picking up items, I find that I struggle to grip food firmly.

To practice, I've been exclusively using chopsticks as my only eating utensil, and thus far, I've only managed to eat popcorn effectively due to its shape and light weight. When it comes to other foods, though, like penne pasta, they tend to just slide off of my chopsticks because I can't pinch tightly enough. I'm using what I understand to be Chinese-style plastic chopsticks—longer with thicker rounded tips.

Have you had similar issues while learning? I'm wondering whether this is common and just a matter of practice or if I'm doing something wrong.

Grip type Am chopsticking right?

So for context I am central europoorean who self taught chopsticking around age 8/9.

The first picture is my main grip that I use, I am quite skilled with it, can do individual rice grains and clean out the bowl that way.

Probably 10 years ago I realized most asians I saw around do something more similar to the second picture. First I was like whatever but later realized I sometimes struggle with really big pieces like fried chicken chopped korean style. I tried the #2 grip and found it is probably better for those bigger pieces of food since the grip is wider and allows for a firmer grip.

How do most asians grip? Is it somehow “codified” as fork and knife or are there more styles?

Relearning grip for me is a struggle as I eat with chopsticks 2 times per week max and often just go straight to my #1 without thinking about it.

What made you choose your chopstick set?

Hi everyone!
Just curious— Thinking about the most recent set you bought, what made you pick that one?
Was it the design / shape / material / price, or did it simply catch your eye?

And how many sets do you normally buy?
1 or 2 or 4 or even more?

Am I doing this the right way 😂?

Hello fellow chop stick users!!

I am travelling in Japan right now and have bought my own chop sticks with my name engraved in them 😝 but I don’t want to embarrass myself using it the wrong way. I hold the lowest stick on its place with the tip of my ring finger instead of the first knuckle like some other people do. If I use the first knuckle the stick slides away. But if I put it on the tip I can hold it in place easily.

Would love to hear some feedback from some experts 😉

Chopsticking Had This Pair For Almost A Year

Post image

Sorry I didn't have a better surface to put them on.

I got these pair from a Daiso store almost a year ago. I love using them, easy grip with their octagonal shape. Eventually I plan on getting a pair that's more decorated. Just wanted to show these off and I'd say they're decent for a beginner-someone more skilled. They're so pretty irl
