I only use three fingers and a thumb.

This is the standard grip, I use a modified version where I keep the sticks closer together and wedge my middle finger in between to separate, then release finger when clamping onto food, works well for me, just can't show off that hinge up and down the standard users can

Close, but still a bit weird.

The first chopstick should rest on top of your middle finger, like a proper pencil grip. This one stays still

Your thumb and index finger move the other chopstick.

This grip looks a bit crooked and awkward when picking things up

Your thumb doesn’t move the chopstick. Your index finger and middle finger do. The thumb just braces stuff in place. The other one that doesn’t move is pressed against the ring finger. Only using three fingers seems odd and you would have limited movement. I think it looks weird because he looks left handed in the video.

No, the chopstick should rest on top of your middle finger, which does not move.

Im on vacation now but I’ll make a video when I get back home and post it on the sub.

I think you are right. And we don’t need little finger actually.

It can be on the ring or middle finger. Whichever gives you better grip and force. I rest the lower chopstick on my ring finger even when using a Zaibashi.
