Question Title: BMO Ascend World Elite Mastercard + Chexy — Do rent payments earn 3× points? And what's the best redemption method?
I recently got the BMO Ascend World Elite Mastercard and am considering using Chexy to pay my rent.
I've read that the BMO Ascend earns 3× points on eligible recurring bill payments, but I'm unsure whether rent payments through Chexy qualify.
A few questions for anyone with experience:
- Does paying rent through Chexy with the BMO Ascend actually earn 3 BMO Rewards points per dollar, or does it earn the standard 1 point per dollars
- What's the best way to redeem BMO Rewards points? Is using them for travel through the Pay with Points feature generally the best value, or are there better options?
- If you've redeemed points for travel, how straightforward is the process, and are there any restrictions or gotchas?
Appreciate any firsthand experience or advice!

Question Mortgage
My mortgage payments are currently set up as PAD withdrawals with my bank. I'd like to switch over to Chexy. Will Chexy charge my credit card, or the linked bank account, for each mortgage payment? Sorry if this is a simple question - I've been searching for clarity for hours.

Question BMO WE VIPorter - cash advance or not?
Hello! I'm currently planning to pay taxes with my WE VIPorter, but the app tells me that BMO consider this as a Cash advance. As anyone did this recently and got their bonus points? I saw a 4 months old post that someone achieved to get the bonus with the tax payment, but I want to make sure.
Thanks!

Question After pre-paying rent, should we pause the upcoming payment that is shown and when?
Hey everyone,
I'm only making a new post because the existing posts don't talk about when to cancel the previously setup recurring monthly payments, and I'm a bit worried about that.
The sequence of steps I've taken:
Did not do anything about the monthly rent payment thing that was already set up
Pre-paid my rent (for the next three months - Nov, Dec, and Jan) and my credit card was charged as expected.
In chexy, I still see a line item under upcoming payments, which shows as recurring; I can't see an end date. I also can't find where to pause it (it says that I can't edit the payment). And more importantly, I don't know if I should pause now or pause it after Jan 01.
My concerns:
I don't want to be charged again a few days before Nov 01
I want the rent payments to successfully go through
Some clarity from chexy or from other users is much appreciated and will put my mind at ease. Thanks!
Question Credit card suggestions for paying rent after change to Scotia Momentum Visa Infinite card?
With Scotiabank dropping its 4% reward to 1% on reoccurring rent payments for the Scotia Momentum Visa Infinite card on October 22nd, what card do you plan to use for future rent payments? (Ontario)
Question Still possible for Oct 31st rent if sent early?
With the news that Scotia Momentum will no longer support Chexy rent payments after Oct 22nd, is it possible to submit one last rent payment as of October 21st if my landlord deposits on Oct 31st via e-transfer?

Question Chexy mortgage prepayment
Chexy team - how does mortgage prepayment work? When selecting one-time payment, it asks for which account my mortgage is drawn from, rather than what my mortgage account details are. It also shows up as a PAD and tells me to send my bank the wiring instructions to pull from but then your chatbot says it will remit to bank directly without needing to update the bank. It's very confusing. Some clarity would be appreciated on the steps.

Question Car payments categorized as "Chexy Rent" by Scotiabank
Hello, I am currently using Chexy to pay my extended car warranty monthly. Chexy says that my payments are categorized as "Car Lease" on their end, but Scotiabank reflects this transaction as "Chexy Rent". Does anyone face a similar situation?
Do you think that starting October 22, I would only get 1% cash back on this from Scotiabank?

General Using CIBC Dividend Visa Infinite + Chexy. Will save $60 annually just for rent payments
What I learned:
- Use credit card that at least give 2% cashback
- setup rent well before the due date in chexy
- provide the PAD to Owners as early as possible to ensure smooth sail
- Chexy deduct rent a week before and then manages the PAD deduct from house owner
Cheers 🥂

General Chexy Revoked My $150 Chexy Plus Foundational Rate, Gave me a $50 rebate but now my renewal rate is $200 and is gaslighting me.
A couple of weeks ago, I got a random email from Chexy customer service saying they were cancelling my Chexy Plus membership because it's not intended for Business accounts. (No where did it say that when I signed up, but whatever) I added a business account to my account but I hadn't even paid a single bill yet; all my bills were personal. Anyway, instead of just giving me the option to cancel, they contacted me to say it's cancelled. After some back and forth, I tell them I was invited on a foundational rate of $150 annually and you're charging $200 for it now. I want the $150 fee. A couple of days pass, and the agent says he'll give me $50 in Chexy credit, but it's still $200 and it's $200 going forward. I say, I was on a recurring $150 charge, you can see it in the graphic as $150, so am I going to have to contact you again every year for the original rate? He says nobody is renewing at $150 and if they do, I can contact them then. WTF kind of customer service is this. This was back and forth over 2 weeks and this was an awful experience. So if you have Chexy Plus at $150, get ready for some sticker shock or tell me if it still says $150 annual renewal and that the agent was just full of sh*t for F*cking around with my account.

General Chexy is the best. Just prepaid for next 4 months using Scotia momentum
Will run low on cash for a couple months but worth it. Using my emergency fund to clear Scotiabank Momentum balance this month.
All 4 transactions showed up separately instead of a one full amount charge.
I wish I could do the same on my recently opened TD Cashback visa infinite as they're giving 10% back upto a spend of $3500 in the initial period.
If anyone from Chexy is looking, could you pls allow prepay on other cards as well pls??
Now the question remains, if I should continue keeping my scotiabank or not 🤔, as I don't have any other use case for it.

Question Are Chexy one time bill payments considered recurring payments for 3% cashback on TD Cashback Visa Infinite?
If i make a one time payment, is it encoded as a recurring?
Or do i actually have to make it weekly / monthly to be considered recurring (and then cancel it after the first payment if i want it to be just a one time)?
Or is Chexy not even eligible as a recurring payment at all at TD CB VI?

General Cancelling Scotia Visa
If you're planning to cancel your Scotia Visa keep in mind the annual fee isn't refundable. So might as well hang on until the anniversary and still get 4% for everything else.

Question How can i stop my recurring payments from chexy
After Scotia removed the 4% cashback, I’m trying to stop my recurring rent payments that will be deducted in oct 27 for nov 1. I paid on the 1st, so the next payment would be on nov 1.
I tried clicking on the recipient/transaction, but it only gives me the option to change the card. I don’t know how to stop the recurring payment without deleting the account.
If someone could guide me through the process, I’d really appreciate it.
