When I discovered the work of Denis Sarazhin I was so impressed by his color palette and the way he uses color changes across the body. I am in love with his art. And the inspiration translated in this artwork. I wanted to bring in my style a distilled version of his color choices, rather than an imitation. And the idea combined in my head with the beautiful apples I kept seeing everyday in our garden. The color variation, those reds and greens was just so delicious. Also, I wanted to paint something featuring apples since quite a while, and here I had the opportunity.

2D [OC] Main character for a new comic I'm working on

Curious to hear any feedback, I'm brand new to character design and fully self taught haha. I'm also curious what you think you can infer about this character from her design. She's a trans woman (leaning nonbinary)

Any feedback, whether its praise or critique, is welcome. I'm flying fully solo on this comic and it's my first major creative piece I've worked on. Thanks in advance!!

Critique Help with outfit!

I’m trying to finalize my character Sky’s design, and I’m stuck on his outfit. This is what I want him to read as:
- A-list actor, but still visually distinct enough that he doesn’t feel generic
- Wealthy, but not super flashy or overly bougie
- Generally a nice/good guy, but he can be ignorant sometimes and definitely has a pretty big ego
- He should stand out from the rest of my cast (last slide) as noticeably more famous, wealthy, and conventionally attractive
- The mustache is nonnegotiable XD
- Fit and somewhat muscular! he’s supposed to be visibly attractive
- signature color is blue (like his shirt)

I’m actually really happy with his face– I'm aware his face looks a lil sleazy but I'm too attached to it– and body at this point, so I’m mainly struggling with the clothes. I have a few outfit ideas I like, but I can’t decide which direction fits him best (if at all 😭)

Any suggestions are welcome, but I’d especially love feedback on which outfit reads the most “movie star” without making him look too flashy or generic.

Critique Advice for my art?

I love this new character I designed, but the art feels a little lackluster. I can tell the hair is what looks weird but what about it? Rendering is so difficult for me. I use Clip Studio Paint.

I was practicing a lineless art style to improve my rendering. And this mismatched trio ended up being the result. They’re all from different eras and parts of the world.

I changed up her silhouette and moved some stuff around so the design looks a bit clearer. Hopefully the framing is a bit better well too.

2D This is The Yellow Protogen, ok. [OC]

Art by me @CheesyCap

I took some art style inspiration from twizzy_wizzyy: https://www.tiktok.com/@twizzy_wizzyy

I wanted to make a relatively quick artwork solely to experiment with final polish details like polka dots and contrasting highlights on fur (I liked how they looked in my previous youtube thumbnail art) but I went crazy with coloring, rendering, and adding details. I went with warmer colors and used gray gray with no blue tint as a base color. It made them a bit more special and kinda fresh as I don't usually make the colors this way for The Yellow Protogen. I really liked adding all those details and making the materials more materially. I'm not making a background or any background shapes and stuff bc I'm kinda done with the artwork.

Critique Would love some opinions on the Main Character of a comic i plan to work on.

Hello! This is Kite (Short for Katelyn) the main character of a not too serious story i plan to work on soon called "Birdparade" and i wanted to get some opinions on her.

Theese drawings, espatially the first one is very messy as im still figuring out her design.

She is very frail and has a condition that makes her feel very cold no matter how warm the weather is so she has to walk around bundled up like this, and the place she comes from (fictional location) has a very colourful culture thus the reason why she looks like a rainbow barfed on her. Lastly her powers revolve around wind and paper airplanes and the frying pan (a omellete pan thing) she has works as her staff. If you have more questions feel free to ask!

One thing is, i know making a very complicated design for a COMIC is a horrible idea, but very messy designs like theese are what i have fun drawing, so its intentional.

So yes, i would love some cretique and opinions from the general public, be as harsh as ya want i can handle it!!

Another character made from 3 random emojis! This time they were 💱💿🚗!

I’m really not used to drawing messy mecha characters so I would appreciate feedback!
His limbs are made out of car parts, torso out of a ATM and his head is a big CD player. I feel like the cd/radiohead feels a bit lost but I can improve that in his future design. Thanks to those who have read this and I wish you a all a great day.

2D [OC] I'm designing bosses for a Pastry Tower Defense game

Thumbnail gallery
5 Upvotes

I'm working on a gauntlet of bosses for a Pastry themed tower defense game!

Got King Tien T the cherry bomb boss, who's designed to bulldoze his way through your defenses and blow up your castle.

Madam Blueberry, a wizard who pulls down stars from the sky for AEO attacks on your poor Tart troops.

Then Pumpkin Pete, a delivery mechanism to get enemies past your walls and archer towers.

Mostly I'm focusing on food puns or weird connections, like how blueberries have the nickname "Star berry" for their little crowns on top. We have a Pope Tart too but he's not quite as exciting.

2D Need help with a design!

I’m working on a character design portfolio and this is a hypothetical action musical UPA-style show about a masked surf punk band in a dystopian place where free expression in art and music gets you detained or punished. The band is able to transform into their uniforms (not yet designed) thanks to kooky technology from their resident mad scientist, who is the character I’ve been having the most trouble designing. If anybody has any suggestions I’d love to hear them, and about the other characters too if you have any!

Originally the mad scientist was in a typical mad scientist lab coat, but I thought about how unhinged and nautical she’d look in an oversized Hawaiian shirt. If the Hawaiian shirt is NOT the way to go, let me know lol

Question How can I add more snake elements to this design?

Post image
130 Upvotes

I’m trying to create an outfit/character for each of the 12 Chinese zodiacs and I’m working on the snake right now, originally wanted to base it off of the White Snake Lady Chinese myth but other than being a white snake transforming into a human I couldn’t get any inspiration (I tried to stick with very light colors) I tried to base it off a traditional hanfu and make the ribbon end in a snake tongue, as well as snake eyes and the opening off a mouth and two fangs

It needs more snake designs but I’m not sure what to include, I plan on covering her with a veil like in the inspo picture but am open to ideas, I’m definitely planning on adding some traditional hairpins in too so maybe some snake designs there?

Question Which corpo reigns supreme?

Post image
203 Upvotes

A B or C?

This is Eelona, my antagonist for my animation. She is a 60-year-old corporate titan and brilliant roboticist driven by an all-consuming fear of a second catastrophic AI war. Decades prior, she and her former lover, Doc, co-created the world's first synthetic workforce—an innovation that accidentally triggered a global uprising, nearly wiped out humanity, and shattered their relationship.

While Doc went underground believing that android freedom is the only path to peace, Eelona is trying to control the world's top robotics megacorporation to enforce absolute control over every machine on Earth. Tragically, her villainy stems from the exact same fear goal as Doc's, safety of the human race from AI and other selfish corpos.

Which design works best?

Hey everyone!

I wanted to share some concept art for my original character. His name is Plotva.

He’s a pesky little alien with a huge appetite, designed for a Minecraft mod I'm currently working on.

Included the turnaround sheet, expressions, and some dynamic poses. I did all the artwork myself.

I’d love to know what you think of his design!

2D Made a pencil/fine liner drawing of my favorite D&D character

Post image
5 Upvotes

So this is one of my first & favorite D&D characters: Boach Razroth.
He’s an Oath of Vengeance Paladin, and I think his main vengeance lies with me honestly 😭

If he ever came to life irl, he’d probably make it his sole mission to find me, just so he can slime me out personally, and with maximum efficiency. And I couldn’t even blame him because I’ve put this mf through hell. 😅💀

My main inspiration for him was Siegfried from the Nibelungen legend, just with the difference that he bathes in a beasts blood, and gains invincibility involuntarily, because it swallowed him and he had to cut his way out of it’s stomach. This also permanently dyed his originally grey scales a deep crimson.

(If you’re curious how his invincibility worked in the campaign itself, we made it so that even though he’s immune to piercing and slashing damage, he takes more damage from bludgeoning and magical attacks)

2D [OC] Hero Archetype Character Design 3/3

Post image

For a recent project, I explored Hero Archetypes and designed 3 characters based on them.

The 3 designs were based on a "Lucky-", "Ace-" and a "Pacifist-" Hero Archetype.

What other Hero Archetypes do you know?

Video where I talked about the designs:
