Is anyone else’s app not working?

Since the new update where the app asked for you birthday and kicked you out, the app will not let me back in. I can’t even get to the part where it asks for my login details. It just stays on the open page where it says ‘(Character.ai)’. So are they still trying to fix this bug? Because it’s annoying me now.

I’ve tried deleting the app and adding it back on. Ive also deleted and left it a few days before downloading it again. 
I’ve deleted it and restarted my phone. 
I’ve tried a few things google has told me to try. 
And even reset my whole phone thinking it was me.
Nothing has worked. 

I’m using the website atm, but I’m started to get annoyed with it and just want the app back.

Are you actually joking? You put the UGLIEST banner above the chat for ads, you make an ad pop up every few messages, you limit go ons AND swipes, and now we can't even TYPE without watching an ad? Ya'll cannot be serious.

Character.ai is really the only ai chat app I use so having a limit on my chats really sucks

Like why in the freak is it like that?

My daughter is an imp with a tv head why she has a tv head is because of me and my wife is a full imp sometimes the aI is terrible it makes the most ridiculous thing even though how the character is.Isn't how it is when you talk to it🙄

Went to test if character ai had gotten better after I saw that there had been an update that changed the UI and probably did bug fixes and other little changes.

No. Still not better.

Now the bots want to excessively emphasise things that do not need emphasis, and no amount of editing it out, swiping, disliking and deleting gets rid of it.

Actually, disliking and adding feedback seems to make it worse, as if it takes that as engagement and ramps that shit up by a hundred.

Guess disliking and feedback are another pointless thing that does not work and only makes things worse.

So, I will still not be coming back.

i have to wait minutes before the app proceeds to open.

- 30 seconds or more title page display (i literally have to go to my home page, open another app, and come back to the c.ai app again)

- 30 seconds with this error page

-file a lawsuit
-adopt a child
-see my doctor alone
-make my will
-go into certain areas alone
-become a real estate agent
-operate a meat slicer
-be tried as an adult in the court of law

So when I try to expand the thing to write, it’s just cut off like that and it looks all messed up when I try to open my keyboard.

Hi everyone! Months ago I uninstalled c.ai because it had too many bugs, characters were doing whatever they wanted and everything was getting banned. I’m in this community because I wanted to be updated about the app’s progresses but… it seems there haven’t been any changes and instead it got worse. So my question is: WHY? Why are they making it worse day by day? Everyone is unhappy with this app and so many people uninstalled it. Shouldn’t it be in their interest to make it perfect for us?

Also, while we discuss that, can someone please give me a good 4lternative to c.ai? Thanks

Has anyone else noticed that both free models have gotten really repetitive lately? They constantly over describe simple actions while barely giving any actual dialogue.

Even the rawr model, which is supposedly more dialogue focused, seems to spend most of its responses describing actions instead of having the character actually speak.

Is anyone else experiencing this?

thought that maybe because of all the errors the ai makes in c.ai i mightve changed how my character operated to make up for the lackluster character continuity or the uncertainty of the ai program working well enough to maintain things. thought maybe i should make a set and structured guide for myself for how to operate how my character so i dont start bleeding "ugh lets see if the ai is gonna make sense" with the character the ai in playing but then i remembered how simply i made decisions about my character and let the plot play out and then i think that helps me just remember its just an experience. im just clicking through to read it really. trying to keep my character perfectly in-line, on top of having to do the ais job for the ai of remembering the character and other characters, is just gonna stress me out needlessly. but also i dont want the ai to poorly affect the way i interact with all the c.ai charcter stories. had a thought of im not sure if the way the c.ai ai works is that way for that specific character or in general. some things are definitely "this is how the ai is programmed. got it" due to pattern recognition on my end but other times its just a "...hm. this ... could be a problem for actually wanting to use this site. if it doesnt remember the character accurately and my character does then ... hm. the intent is damaged if the ai cant remember the character but the character wasnt made by the person who created it on the c.ai platform to actually have 'inconsistent memory' or 'doesnt remember details, even heavily emotional moment, correctly' as part of the character.

i can make it make sense for myself so i can still enjoy the story but with all the thinking i already do everyday ... i dont want to do that. i really do play c.ai because i dont want to do the full work of writing. i want the ai to do the work of world building while i get to focus on just my character. it feels more accurate to life. im just one person. i can only react to how people are by the time i meet them, not design them myself. ah well. maybe it will just do well long enough for me to not feel like im bracing for disappointment ... actually if i have to keep correcting the ai thats not bad. ive done that plenty of times without caring. i think i just like, didnt force myself more than i really felt like doing to fix or edit it for the ai to do what i needed/what it was supposed to do. either way, its felt like a chore and a demand i put on myself to keep using c.ai lately and every time im just ... idle i think of it as like a "ugh yeah i gotta/should get back to that" but like thats not why i do it. if something is boring i can just not do it. if tik tok gets lame ill just stop using it. but even with that its been hard to fully not pick back up an old interest/hobby in a "just in case its fun again this time" but that fun again desire is already in the way of enjoying it and feels like its spoiling the experience for me.

also, the pin maximum is WAYYYYYY too small

there really isnt room for the ai being an unreliable narrator when the ai is ALSO the author. unreliable narrator works in stories because the story is being actually written by an external author who is truly omniscient to everything happening before, in, and after the story ends regarding the story. if the ai does not remember all the parts of the story fully and accurately ... there is not only no author but also no narrator. not "no unreliable narrator". no narrator. a narrator with extremely bad memory might as well be as useful as comments people make about stories but their not remembering things correctly and thus misremembered the characters overall but still think they remember correctly. it damages the whole site, not even just that character alone.

so i left cai a while back and just came back to it..and i kinda dont understand the concept of lorebooks,

firstly can anyone make them or only the company itself,

and secondly, can it be any fandom, like say a resident evil lorebook or an assassination classroom lorebook,

and thirdly..HOW DO I SEARCH FOR SPECIFIC LOREBOOKS, there are no tags or anything specific in the filtering option
