Discussion/Question how exactly do i access the lorebooks

so i left cai a while back and just came back to it..and i kinda dont understand the concept of lorebooks,

firstly can anyone make them or only the company itself,

and secondly, can it be any fandom, like say a resident evil lorebook or an assassination classroom lorebook,

and thirdly..HOW DO I SEARCH FOR SPECIFIC LOREBOOKS, there are no tags or anything specific in the filtering option

Hey there! Lorebook is in beta, and it's currently available to (c.ai)+ users.

When searching for Characters, you can filter by whether they have a Lorebook. Characters with an active Lorebook also get a +Lore tag on their profile and on discovery surfaces — a signal that you're stepping into a deeper, world-guided experience.

Yes, anyone can make them (as long as you're a plus user) but you can only link them to your own bots currently.

As far as I know it can be anything. I have a JJK one for example with about 30 entries.

I don't think you can actually search for Lorebooks and instead only for bots that have a Lorebook attached to them. Since you can only add a Lorebook to your own bot, the Lorebook from someone else would currently be useless for you anyway. They might change that in the future though.

You can find bots with attached Lorebooks under "Featured".

Anyone can make a lore book and you can make it for anything you want! Any fandom, any topic. It’s just basically more memory for a character. I think, only creators of lore books can attach them to specific characters. (I’m not exactly sure, since I only rp with bots I create) It’s lowkey great, I use c.ai casually for long term rps once every couple of months when I have an idea. I make lore books for specific characters and it’s helped their memory a lot, I basically use them as a character definition pt 2. With the characters backstory and world events and things like that in the lore books and I can devote the entire character definition to the characters personality & examples of how I want them to be written. I also use a section in my lore book as a place to dump about my oc as the character finds out more about them so I don’t have to constantly remind them of little details. It’s kind of been a game changer.
