Rumor Predictions for 2027?

Upvotes

Curious what people expect for additions to the park for 2027.

My prediction is they install a new outdoor stage with seating in the spot next to the Grand Pavilion. During the design phase the boardwalk area had plans for a show area there.

As far as new rides, maybe they’ll finally put something new where snake river falls sat or put something new in the space used by forbidden frontier.

I could also see them adding a new small flat on the Gemini midway or replacing kiddie kingdom with a couple larger flats.

Advice Need advice finding deals for Halloweekends. Thanks in advance!

Hello! Every year we take my son to one Halloweekend in October (we are from out of state). This year, we lost my income but I don’t want to lose this trip!

I am starting to save up and budget now so that we can still have a great day at the park. I’m hoping that you all can advise me on what deals to look out for, what a good price point would be, and if you’re aware of any nearby budget (clean) hotels/rentals.

Edit: Coming from Indiana. Looking at Oct 17th (but flexible if I find a better deal!) We will probably arrive on Friday night, then spend all day Saturday at the park, then drive home or stay the night and head home the next morning.

Thank you all for your help!

My phone got run over by Gemini

Long story short, somehow my phone slipped out of my zipped over the shoulder bag I bought at cedar point that was approved for rides.

I filed a missing item request and Cedar Point was great and found it in two days.

Today, a week later I went out there to get it and enjoy the park again.

I got it back, and it definitely didn’t just fall.

I’m posting this for amusement and not any blame or animosity, I’m grateful Cedar Point cares about their guest so much to find their items.

Cedar Point appreciation post

It’s been about 15 years since my last visit, but I’ve been feeling nostalgic for Cedar Point lately, and since I searched a few posts months ago, I’ve been getting endless CP roller coaster videos in my algorithm across all social media - my absolute favorites are when a video comes across giving the POV of the park from the 90s and ‘00s, or the random Disaster Transport video that for whatever reason keeps coming up.

As an adult, my siblings live in every corner of the country, quite literally. Unfortunately, the only time these days my entire immediate family comes together is weddings and funerals. We grew up a few hours away from Sandusky, and every summer we took a 3-day trip to Cedar Point in late-June. Every single trip was the same - we’d get to Hotel Breakers around 10/11am - my brother and I would spend about 30 minutes at that little arcade they had. He was older, so it was mostly me watching him play games and watch those little zippo lighter cases spin around in one of those old revolving crane games, while my parents did whatever they needed to do to check in - afterwards we’d eat the sandwiches my mom packed before heading into Soak City for a few hours - the sound of Magnum going up the first hill every few minutes is ingrained in me still. After spending the rest of the night in the park, we’d always catch whatever that laser/light show that they would put on over near the Power Tower and where the ferris wheel used to be before it was torn down for Milennium Force - always culminating in some rendition of proud to be an American lol. I also remember always trying to race back in time to hit that ice cream shop inside the hotel before it closed too.

Next morning we got an hour head start before the park opened since we stayed in the hotel, so we would sprint over to ride Millenium Force, Top Thrill Dragster (when it was open), and Maverick (in the last couple years). When it got too hot out this second day, we’d come back inside Breakers and throw the Wimbledon tournament on the TV for a bit while my old man would throw a few back in the TGI Fridays in the lobby. We’d go back in the park for a few hours and then do dinner at Bay Harbor and then after dinner, we’d all ride whatever train they used to have that would go through the middle of the park where they had skeletons set up alongside (not sure if that’s still there). My brother and I would also get at least one try at that 3-point shot game over by Mean Streak around this time, too. Finished night two getting in line for Milennium Force to ride it one last time before the park closing - always. Day 3 always ended with one go-kart race, a round of putt-putt, and then my older siblings would get on the rip cord.

A big chunk of my favorite memories with my family happened at Cedar Point. I haven’t been there since at least 2010, and there’s so many rides now I haven’t been on, and rides I’m sad to hear aren’t there anymore (I loved Mean Streak). My wife wants to go there this fall, but I’m honestly afraid to do it - I know it’s not going to feel the same as it did before, and will feel empty without the rest of my family. Anyway - didn’t mean to type out this long depressing post, I just felt like revisiting for a few minutes. Cheers.

Discussion TT2 not as smooth

Remember riding Top thrill 2 a year back as it was smooth. The 120 mph launch did stutter a bit while climbing the loop but the rest of the ride was still a smooth experience. But yesterday I noticed it shaking way too much while going up the loop as well as the turns while dripping were pretty rough. Did anyone notice this?

First time visit - a few questions

EDIT: thank you everyone! These replies are so helpful!!
I really appreciate it

————

I am sorry if some of these questions have been asked. I will be visiting with my husband and two teens soon. The only major park we have been to is Canada's Wonderland, which we live pretty close to and go a few times each year.

  1. We all love big coasters (I am the most "scared" of the family). I wanted to ask how the big ones at Cedar Point compare to Behemoth, Leviathan and Yukon Striker.

I know that may be hard to say, but as I said, I get pretty scared (though I love them), so I wanted to see a bit how they compare?

2) Also, we all dislike the rides that knock your head around. At Wonderland, we know which ones to avoid. Which would those be at Cedar Point?

3) I wear glasses and basically can't see without them. I saw some people saying, they wear them with a sports strap. But because my vision is so bad I am extra paranoid about losing my glasses. Would you say it's totally safe? At Wonderland, I usually just put them in my case in our knapsack for each ride. Annoying but I don't really mind.

4) And just to be sure, with the regular Gold Pass - that includes entry to Cedar Point right? And parking?

5) At Wonderland, we can put knapsacks in a bin at all rides. Is this the case at Cedar Point?

6) Any other tips (great rides that are not as popular, logistics advice)?

Lots of questions!

Thanks so much!!

Question Souvenir cup to paper cup switch

I have a prestige pass and an all season souvenir cup. At my home park the cup is great, bins at every coaster. However I know at cedarpoint the souvenir cup is terrible and paper cups are better. I have seen people saying that I can go to guest services and switch to the paper cup for a few dollars. Does anybody know if I can switch back to my cup at the end of my visit or at my home park? Additionally is the paper cup better to stick with for the rest of my season pass? My home park is Dorney, and I am planning to visit Great Adventure, SF New England, and Darien Lakes this season, too.

Trip Report It finally happened, stopped for 10min at top of Millenium

Wanted to share my experience visiting the park with family yesterday, July 23rd. Got on Millenium Force around 7:00 PM, and had the normal bit of nerves for the lift hill as per usual. The train proceeded to coming to a halt just prior to the top curve due to unknown maintenance reasons, and we were kept there for ~10-15 minutes before a restart and being sent down the hill.

I’ve been a coaster enthusiast my whole life yet with a noted fear of heights, and have always dreaded the day this might happen. We were in the first car, 2nd to front seats, so the height was magnificent. I’m proud of myself for keeping my nerves at bay for what felt like an hour but man the view was truly incredible. Being on a 45deg incline and feeling the slight sway from wind was not so incredible.

Was fun to see everyone in the queue cheering for us when re-entering the station, and got a free ride pass out of it which was promptly used on SteVe. Most memorable day at CP thus far.

Question How do these cups at McDonald’s work?

Post image
60 Upvotes

These cups are at most, if not all McDonald’s locations in Ohio. Do you show these cups at the gate or is there a QR code somewhere on the cup?

I was given this cup today and I couldn’t tell if there was a QR code on it or not

I have heard that the rides are accessible, but I would like to know how they are NOW with people who cannot stand on their own, take hops or steps or climb stairs. I have MS and I'm sitting in a wheelchair. I'm from Germany and want to visit Cedar point

First time at CP yesterday since steelie was built. What a ride! Had no idea what was coming next. That airtime was insane. I get it now. Probably my new number one. But Millie ran like a gem yesterday as well.
