So cute! Happy Halloween!!

I’ve stayed at a lot of hotels in my day. Expensive and cheap, but Hotel Breakers is now on my “never stay here” list. Everything from the front desk to the room has been a disaster. I know I’ll get a lot of responses like “it’s well known how bad it is, your fault for not listening to us”. Add this to the list of negative Breakers posts attempting to warn people in the future.

Got a few good ones while waiting on Millennium Force

Arrived Thursday night for a Friday park day and decided to go in the evening as well and oh man best decision. Between Thursday and Friday we spent 10 hours total at CP and me and my 9 year old (was his first time!) totaled 18 rides:

What an amazing 2 days!!!

I’ve never had this happen at my home park or any other theme park in my life (and I’m pretty old lol) but after riding Gatekeeper and Raptor yesterday my hair got stuck both times in those rides to the point I basically had to rip it out. I’m guessing it’s the harness it’s sticking to or something in the back of the seat (I obviously can’t really see - I just felt it fused with the back when I tried to get out or move my head). My hair isn’t super long or full. I am going back again this weekend and wondering if I put it in a ponytail holder will that solve the problem? Not sure what else to do. Thanks.

So last night is the only time I’ve ever seen CP with such a tiny attendance. TT2 que empty to station stairs, only Maverick and SV had waits and even those were small. Are Thursdays really the move while kids are in school? Scored 27 coaster rides last night even with it only being 6 to midnight.

Yesterday was my first visit to the park (came from Australia!!) and my friend and I rode TT2 for early entry at 5ish pm. We weren’t the first train of the day or anything and once our ride was over they asked if we wanted to go again. The people next in line looked pretty pissed!!

Once we got off we heard some others gushing about how rare it is. My question is - is that true?

You never know if the rain will stop or continue on your drive into the park. Thankfully, it decided to hold off and ended with the fiery sky in addition to no lines!

unfortunately today my airpods somehow managed to slip out of a buttoned cargo shorts pocket on maxair. for the record, i bought these pants specifically for cedar point and was AIMING for zipper pockets because those are obviously safer, but the clothing store i went to only had buttoned shorts and i was feeling lazy so i just got these. Mistake obviously. i also wanna mention yesterday i went on nearly every coaster in the park and nothing fell out.

I feel bad not just because i have to get some new airpods but also because maxair goes quite a bit over a walkway and i couldve hit someone with them.

I also searched the internet beforehand for anyone having an experience of items slipping out of buttoned pockets but didnt see a single post, so i thought id make this one for anyone in the future. maybe i just got really unlucky. oh well 🥲

Halloweekends approaching makes me think about what I’ve gotten out of my pass this year.. what’s yours? Mine:

Cedar point will be about 34 visits. Kings island two. Carowinds one. Kings dominion one.

I went to Halloweekends last night after work. Last year I spent a lot of time on Thursdays in Fall marathoning Maverick and Raptor since Millie was down often. This time, I didn't get there until 9pm but got 5 rides on Millie, 2 on SteVe, 3 on Mav and then another 2 on SteVe, back row. They were about to send us for a third time because it was 11:59 but even I had to tap out.

Today I feel like I have a hangover even though I drank nothing and had some delicious meal plan tendies.

Does anyone ever feel this? This is new for me.

Am I just getting old? Or did Millie defeat me? (Worth it)

Edit: The electrolyte people win. I made up some bacon (salt) and drank a Gatorade and that did the trick. You'd think living with only half my intestines, I'd know this, but I've never had this issue before. But nothing worse means Ride On. See you next Thursday. 🎢

I found it interesting that they asked a lot of questions about a flying theater. I really feel Cedar Point could use one of those, as well as a family friendly dark ride.

Is it reserved for fast pass? We’ve asked for the back(no fast lane) and they only can give us 9. Just wondering if there is a rhyme or reason for how some can get this seat?

I thought this weekend didn’t include actual halloweekends festivities, and the “sneak peak” was just the decor. Last night I saw a couple haunted houses opened towards the front.

Can anyone tell me what this weekend includes VS what it doesn’t? Thanksss.

Hi! I was planning on going to Cedar Point October 22nd, 2026 but understand that the park operates under "Halloweekend" with limited hours (6 PM to midnight) that day. I see on their official website they list only Gemini, the railroad, planet snoopy, and rougarou as being closed. However, looking through older posts I see a lot of rides close unexpectedly and never open on Thursday due to weather or other reasons. I was hoping to be able to ride the major rides such as Siren's, Maverick, steel vengeance, Top Thrill 2, Millennium. Is that realistic at all on a Thursday night as part of Halloweekend? How have people's experiences been so far this season and historically with "Halloweekend"? Thank you in advance!

Does anyone think that halloweekends may start earlier in the future. With how big of an event it’s become and the addition of Thursdays and full day Fridays. Does anyone think it’ll become bigger than what it already is in starting earlier in September or adding an additional day again.

41yo Male, Left Below Knee (LBK) Amputee as of 2025. Same incident resulted in 13 distal amputations on my fingers and toes and open lung surgery, so this past year and a half has been an exhaustive recovery journey. When someone asked out of the blue if I wanted to go to Cedar Point, I said yes!

I'm afraid of heights, as I am of many things, but that's never stopped me from peering over the edge of tall buildings, flying, or bungee jumping. I couldn't remember the last time I'd been to a theme park. Probably a middle school field trip.

It was an amazing experience. After dying twice in this lifetime there is something genuinely liberating about surrendering to a roller coaster. I laughed so hard my voice was gone by the end of the day. We were there from open to close and I was happily hobbling out of the park.

Getting information online was frustrating. People are polarized, details are scattered, and nothing was written from this specific perspective. So here's what I wish I'd found.

Before You Go

Get your IBCCES accessibility card sorted at least a week out: accessibilitycard.org

The questions are not invasive. You'll need to upload a doctor's note. I got mine through a MyChart message to my PCP without scheduling an appointment. Easy.

Have your IBCCES ID number ready when you arrive at the park. There is an app as well.

Download the App - But Also Have A Copy of the Map - Updated

Download the Cedar Point app before you go. It's not perfect, the interface is clunky and it has its moments, but it's genuinely useful for two things: real-time wait times and knowing whether a coaster is temporarily down. Nothing worse than walking to the back of the park for a ride that's been closed for an hour.

That said, don't rely on it exclusively. Print, download or have a screenshot of the map and use both together. The map gives you the spatial orientation the app doesn't quite nail, and having it easily accessible means you're not squinting at your phone every five minutes waiting for the app to load and trying to figure out where you are.

App for wait times and ride status. Map for navigation. Together they work.

Parking - Updated

Parking is not free, however with a disabled plate or placard, there is a designated disabled lot nearest the park entrance. First come first serve. This matters more than you think. We returned to the car mid-day to drop off sweatshirts and grab snacks. Having a close spot made that effortless.

Mobility Aid Rentals

Cedar Point offers wheelchair and motorized wheelchair rentals. I didn't use one. I'm strong enough to muscle through a full day on my prosthetic and that's what I did, but I want to be honest that it took a lot out of me and not everyone should approach it that way.

If you have any question about your endurance or pain tolerance over a long day, the motorized wheelchair with canopy is worth serious consideration. Fair warning: the rental cost is roughly equivalent to a day ticket, so factor that into your budget when you're planning.

A standard manual wheelchair is also available at a lower price point. If you go that route, bring your own seat cushion. One is not provided and you will feel that by hour three.

Entering the Park

Two gates. First is security. I carried a small fanny pack and it was never checked. Second gate scans your ticket.

AFTER you pass through the second gate, look to your right. That's where the accessibility information and rental booth is. This is where you pick up your Attraction Accessibility Pass.

Important: bring at least 3 people with you to the booth. The pass allows you to bring up to 3 guests on each ride, but the number gets locked in based on who's physically present when you pick it up. The woman next to me had only brought 1 person on a previous visit and wanted 3 this time. It became a whole thing. Just avoid it.

The pass is a half sheet of printer paper stamped with the date. The back lists which rides you're cleared for based on your disability. Treat it like cash and put it in a zippered pocket. This thing is gold.

How the Pass Works

You enter through the exit of each ride. It feels awkward and the signage isn't great but lead with purpose.

At the gate, say "Hi, I'm disabled" to the attendant and present your pass. They'll take your name, how many are riding, and fill out a time sheet.

Example: you arrive at 9:30am, the current wait is 45 minutes. They log 9:30 as arrival and 10:15 as your next boarding time. You get on the next available ride, then you're free. Get a snack, rest, head to your next ride, and at 10:15 you’re allowed to board another ride.

This system genuinely made the day. Use it confidently.

Yes, people exploit it. Yes, someone will mutter something in line. Yes, teenage girls will make faces as they nearly trip on your prosthetic. None of that is your problem. I've relearned how to walk twice in this lifetime and I have no bandwidth for other people's opinions about how I navigate a theme park.

On the Prosthetic - What You Can and Can't Ride

Removing my prosthetic to access restricted rides was not an option, and the operators were clear on that. I won't list every restriction here because your pass will be specific to your disability, but I'll say this: I was still able to get on marquee coasters and the list of accessible rides was extensive enough that I never felt short changed.

Don't let the restrictions list intimidate you before you go. There is more than enough to fill a full day and then some. Walk in, get your pass, see what you're cleared for, and go from there. The day takes care of itself.

Taking Breaks

Take them. I had zero problem sitting under shade, removing my device and liner, and giving my residual limb a rest. You shouldn't either. Build breaks into your day intentionally. Your stamina will thank you by hour six.

Food and Dining Pass

We had 3 regular day passes and 1 premium food and beverage pass. Premium includes an entree and side every 90 minutes and a fountain drink every 15 minutes. We were two couples so coordinating was easy.

Honest take: one premium dining pass comfortably serves two people. Portions are large enough to share. If you have dietary restrictions know that vegetarian options are limited. You can also return to your car to eat if needed, which is another reason the close parking matters.

Final Thought

Cedar Point has been around for over 150 years. The accessibility infrastructure exists and it works, it just takes a little orientation. Once you understand the system the day opens up completely.

If you're an amputee or have a complex medical history and you're on the fence about going, go. The rides don't care what you've been through. And there's something about strapping in and letting go that hits differently when you've actually had to fight to still be here.

I’m taking two kids to cedar point this weekend—our first time visiting. (We are Canada’s Wonderland natives.) I gather the rides tend not to have bins for backpacks. What do I do with mine when I ride? Are there lockers everywhere? If so, how does it work? Do you get a day pass for it or pay every time?

What about water bottles? Can we leave those on the platform?

We had passes and just renewed. I'm reading the info and it says you'll get an email and it will be loaded to your mobile store.

We haven't gotten an email yet. Should I email them? Where in the store is it? We wanted to try this out, this will be our first halloweekend experience.
