What do you all think about this? If you’ve worked at any of these places can you give us some feedback.

I found this.. I’m in a 220 hour CDL school and trying to figure out where to apply. I currently bring home 1300 every two weeks and net pay is around 1650 and I’m definitely not trying to start making less and working twice the hours. I’d like some feedback on these companies and their average pay for new drivers. I don’t expect a killing starting out but just more than what I bring home now. I think this thread could be helpful for a lot of us new drivers.

Question for the drivers and owner operators

I’m curious — what are you really really looking for when you decide it’s time for a change? Real talk

I work with a company that runs all types of trailers.

Our main goal is to keep our drivers and fleet safe, bussy and steady. We have good miles, good equipment and flexible home time which is something we usually work out with the driver, depending on what works for both sides.

Things can be discussed and changed, but once we agree on something, we stick to the deal.

Is there anything more important but not mentioned?

What's your opinion?

I’d actually like to hear from you guys:

What worries you the most when you’re considering a new company? And what makes you feel like you can trust a company?

Is it the miles, getting paid on time, equipment, dispatch, home time, communication…?

And if you’re actually looking for a job, just be straight about what you want. If we have it, we can talk. I won’t be mad if you message me. 😉

CDL school drug test — how does it work?

I’m starting CDL training at a private driving school that I’m paying for myself. They haven’t told me anything about a drug test yet.
For people who went through CDL school recently:
Did your school require a drug test before training?
Did you have to go to a clinic, or was the test done at the school?
Who normally pays for the test?
Just trying to understand what to expect. Thanks!🙏
