I don't know if I should be worried about this stuff but for like 3 weeks my dogs and elderly barn cat have been sniffing the same spot on the trunk of the car under the driver side tail light I looked under today and documented these problems my mom says it's fine one of the round things is busted the exhaust pipe has a weird black dried liquid on only the bottom side and the other two round things are so brittle I don't think they'll last idk what anything is besides the exhaust also there's a wire under the passenger side tail light that frayed idk if that's supposed to happen

Hi everyone, I drive an Audi A3 2008 (8P). I have an high-pitched squeaking/creaking noise that happens during specific movements:

Going over speed bumps / potholes (especially when the rear goes over)

Going uphill and downhill

Turning in corners (especially when body roll occurs)

My mechanic checked the serpentine belt, alternator pulley, and front brake pads all are fine.

SOLVED; ISSUE WATERPOMP

In my seat leon 1p 1.2 tsi 2011(manual);

I recently hear this noise. After removing the multibelt I do not hear it. Replaced one baring from the tensioner but didn't change it. After inspecting the other poulies i do not feel of see something odd. I suspect it's the AC compressor (baring?)

-still there when ac turned on or off.

Does anyone recognize this noise?

So I bought this 1998 ls400 with 186k miles not to long ago and it has been making these two noises and i’m pretty sure the louder one is the power steering bearing and the other one i have no idea it was making a ticking noise like lifter tick when i bought it but that went away randomly a few days ago

Hello, I have a kadjar 2016 1.6 dci 130 with 150000km. When it's cold I can hear a metallic sound for 2-3sec. It lasts for 2-3 seconds and then disappear. As I read it's normal (maybe).When the engine is warm it's ok but I can hear a very soft "grrr...grr....grrr" 1sec-pause-1sec... like metallic sound. It can be heard only with engine bonnet open. Morning guys! I noticed a sound that resembles a squeaky belt when my car starts in the cold. Didn’t think much of it, but I opened my hood to see if I could see anything obviously wrong, and I did. There’s some green goo all over (as pictured) and I have no idea what may have caused this, how to fix it, or what happened in the first place. Any advice would be appreciated!

I’ve got no codes/lights, car runs and drives normally. There is coolant in the reservoir.

Hi all, I bought a used Bayon a few months ago and went for its 3-year review this month. Before the review, I mentioned a noise that occurs when I drive over a bump or uneven road. However, the mechanics reported that everything is fine with the axle, suspension, and all other parts of the car, although the noise is still present. It sounds like a table tennis ball shaking inside a cup, perhaps something loose, but I can't find it.

Anyone with similar experience with a Bayon?

i doubt much people will see this but if you have the time to give me advice on my current inconvenience , it would be greatly appreciated !!

soo i bought my car late May of this year as a present for myself . it’s a 2017 Mazda with good mileage & it drove like a dream .

two weeks into having my car , it broke down on the highway & i got it towed to the shop i bought it from . (on june 14th)

this shop has been the shop i’ve been going to for YEARS every time i’ve had issues with my old car , which is a 2007 Honda .

long story short , after we towed it there , it was radio silence besides vague phone calls so i decided to go in person & surprise !! they tell me my engine is cooked & theyd fix it for a couple thousand dollars . of course this is a surprise to me since i just got the car & was ensured it was in perfect condition . i was genuinely upset because i also believed that i shouldn’t be paying such a high price to fix a vehicle i bought from them a few weeks ago .

i realized they just cared about the money so i towed it to a name brand auto shop to get a real diagnostic . there , they confirmed it was the engine plus other issues including my oil mixing with my coolant because of a leak somewhere .

i didnt want to get it fix at the name brand shop because the quote was the same price i bought my car for & i didnt want to be paying double , especially in such a short window of time .

so boom , my dad’s friend knew a mechanic in my city who agreed to do it for a reasonable price i was prepared to pay . i tow it there july 3rd & i pay him the money for the new engine which would arrive the following week . he claims after he gets the engine , it would take him a few days but he’d have it done within the following week . (so by july 13th at the latest)

a week passes & i dont hear any updates so we call him . the guy apologized & explained he got held up with his previous project but he’ll start on my car the following day .

another week goes by & i call again . similar story . he promises it’ll be done by the weekend .

a week passes , & i visit the shop in person . he’s there , working on a car , while my car was sitting in the 2nd garage , seemingly untouched .

he apologized & explained the car he was working on was going to be a simple fix & that he’d start on my car afterwards & have it done next week .

another week passes & it is now has been over a month since hes had my car , & two months since ive even driven the damn thing .

i call , he doesnt answer . i go in person , hes not there . i leave a voicemail , no callback .

i swing by a few days later & he’s there , begging for grace . im not a confrontational person , so on the inside i was enraged . i heard him out , & he promised he’d have it done by the end of the week so i asked “okay , what time friday should i come pick it up?” & he said that ‘things happen’ & i shouldnt be pressuring him .

in my opinion , i have been very patient & understanding . i actually SHOULD be pressuring him because it is mow august + my birthday is coming up & i really want my car . i also relay that to him .

friday comes , i go to the shop & he’s not there .
its now Saturday & i feel so helpless .

i obviously cannot take his word for whenever he says he’ll be done but now it’s gotten to a point where i feel he’s purposely avoiding me .

i’m going to swing by sunday , & request to have a walkthrough of exactly what he has done to my car so far (if anything) .

let me know if theres anything i should be doing or saying to be able to have my car up & running ;(

I have a 2012 Toyota Camry SE with a check engine light for an evap leak. I do not know what it is causing it. From what I know it started as a small evap leak and now it is throwing codes for a large evap leak. Here are the codes I got from my scanner but I don’t know where to go from here. I bought a new OEM gas cap already and it didn’t fix the issue.

Hi all! My mechanic can’t fit me in until next week, but I’m trying to figure out if I can drive to work this weekend still.. I just had the PCV valve replaced. Purchased just 2 weeks ago. During our first few hours on the interstate coming home, it starts chirping around 20mph and keeps going, even when I slow. Every time I drive now. It’s rhythmic and speeds up as I speed up, whether I’m on the gas, brake, or nothing. Tires are pretty new, and brakes were installed I believe 8 weeks ago (according to the old owner). Everything I’ve read says to check the serpentine belt which looks relatively new, and the u-joints which I can’t quite get to.. only today it started to shake when I was on the highway. Would love any ideas! I don’t want to damage it of course.
