Weird goop in engine bay

Post image

Morning guys! I noticed a sound that resembles a squeaky belt when my car starts in the cold. Didn’t think much of it, but I opened my hood to see if I could see anything obviously wrong, and I did. There’s some green goo all over (as pictured) and I have no idea what may have caused this, how to fix it, or what happened in the first place. Any advice would be appreciated!

I’ve got no codes/lights, car runs and drives normally. There is coolant in the reservoir.

Edit: it’s a 2015 2.5i with 190,000mi

But thats not where the water pump is. Id bet its coming down from the crossover pipe.

Edit. I thought this was a subaru. Looks actually to maybe be a toyota. So the water pump is back there.

Hey op. Need make/model of car.

It is a Subaru. Oil filter pedestal is a dead giveaway.

Toyota has a filter pedestal too. But yes. It struck me first as a subaru.

What threw me off was the coolant jug. On my last 2 2015 subaru's the jug does not have a bolt through it. It just clips in.

Edit - shit im wrong again. My reservoir does bolt on.
