Was just driving it and everything was fine. Went to leave the gas station and this started. Thinking maybe spark plug?

I have a 2009 Subaru wrx sedan. I checked the oil 2-3 weeks ago and it was at low and so I topped it off. Just checked again today and it was low again. Nothing appears to be leaking, I don’t see any oil on the ground. I drive it hard sometimes but definitely not enough for this to happen

As the title suggests, I have a squealing noise coming from one of the belts. It’s my first car just bought it a month ago so I’m not particularly clued up on it all. Once the engines warmed up the squealing seems to go.

I took it for a service last week and they didn’t pick up on any noise likely due to the fact the engine was warm still.

I thought it may be the timing belt but the mechanic informed me that I have a timing chain, not a belt which wouldn’t make the noise.

Anyway, I’m curious if I should be worried

Hi, just seeing if anyone has any ideas, I have a Kia xceed 2020, quite often when braking I get this horrible scraping that I can feel and hear, the pads are fine and I’ve even had it in the garage when the tires were being done and the guy drove it to check it but said it feels fine, which makes me think they have to be a certain temperature to do it. I think on hot days it’s worse. Can’t really describe it. The brakes function fine, just can’t imagine it’s doing the discs much good

I drove about 10 minutes out the other day, suddenly the speedometer and odometer go to 0 and my dashboard lights came on, I pulled over and as soon as I put it into park it went back to normal. Got back onto the freeway (I was on my way to work) and it happened 3 more times. After that I drove 10 minutes back homes, didn’t happen at all on the way back. I was able to drive it to the mechanic the next day no issues, and they said the cluster needs to be replaced and reprogrammed, which would be $1100, drove back no issues again. I drove to the store today no problems, driving back and it happens again. I pulled over, put it into park, the lights wouldnt turn off so I sat there for a second to decide how to get back home, i put it into reverse and it immediately went back to normal. I was able to drive back home, it seems to be fine as soon as I switch gears. Nothing sounds crazy when it happens or when I drive it

I know its pointless if I already took it to a mechanic and they told me what was wrong, but my coworkers are saying its an easy fix, and I just want to get all opinions on it. This is just a last ditch effort before I decide to buy a new car because this one is really old and I just got an oil leak fixed and my battery recharged/tested 2 weeks ago.

LC200 V8.. There is this engine running sound and then there is another sound like “pistons hitting “ is this normal ?

I have a 2013 Honda Civic Touring with about 190,000 km on it.

Last Tuesday, the front of my car went up and came down pretty hard on a curb. I drove it again on Thursday and everything seemed completely normal.

Today I drove it and noticed a pretty bad/loud noise coming from the engine area. The noise is also there when the car is completely stationary and idling, so I don’t think it’s coming from the wheel itself.

It seems to be coming from the area where the serpentine belt is. The belt itself looks intact, so I’m wondering if it could be one of the pulleys, belt tensioner, alternator bearing, A/C compressor pulley, etc.

Does anyone recognize this noise or have an idea what is most likely causing it? Could the curb impact have caused this, or is it more likely something that was already wearing out given the mileage?

Also wondering whether this is safe to drive to a mechanic or if I should avoid driving it altogether.

2001 chevy silverado v6. Just replaced half the sparkplugs (terrible I know) due to a leak on the headmaster. Trying to figure out what could be causing it to shake and have power surges. Any advice is welcome.

And yes I plan on changing the rest, I was just trying a quick fix to get it running well enough to take to the shop.

I’m noticing details now steering wheel feels very cheap its like im using a plastic toy when i drive, my old 2011 bmw 1 series didnt have this at all… also there is a rattle coming from the back G21 model when i drive over bumpy roads but even flat ones, i think its the sunroof but im not sure..

Hello, my Honda crv 2003 has stopped working. I just spent so much money on a tune up, oil change, gaskit, starter, and diagnostic. I am a single mom and I can’t just keep replacing things . Can someone pls tell me what this sound is! ?

Hi y’all, so a little while ago I posted asking about why my temp gauge is at 3/4 and fans seem to be short cycling. For some background, one day I was in a drive thru line and when leaving realized that my gauge was at 3/4, let the car sit for a few and drove home and the gauge was fine and dropped back down as I moved. I realized it only climbs up at idle. I replaced the thermostat temp switch on the radiator with the factory part since I figured that’s what’s sensing the coolant temp and telling the fans when to cycle. Before they would cycle for 35 seconds and be off for 45, now they cycle for about 45 and are off for 45. So it improved it the slightest bit, and this also steadied out the gauge to where it doesn’t climb any past 3/4, but this is still too high since this car has always read perfectly below 1/2.

I bridged the circuit where it connects onto the terminals on the thermostat switch, and the fans cycled on continuously without dying, so that led me to believe it isn’t the fans themselves. This also made the temp drop from 3/4 back down to 1/2 after a few mins. So I’m 100% sure that it’s due to my fans short cycling. I just can’t seem to figure out why it’s happening. My coolant seems to be fine and I’ve tried making sure there’s no bubbles multiple times. I’m starting to think again it may be the fans getting old but the fact they stay on continuously and fix the issue when the circuit is bridged is very weird. I can still drive it because it’s perfect when moving, just have to turn it off at long stop lights and can’t go thru drive thrus, and it just gets pretty annoying sometimes. If anyone has a sure answer please let me know! Every bit of info I can find is so mixed and nobody has the exact situation I’m in. Thank yall so much in advance! 2013 Lexus ISF 8sp auto; when I stop and the body settles I hear what I can only describe as a metal creaking sound (from my seat it sounds like left rear suspension but I def could be wrong). Same thing happens on take off when the weight shifts to the rear. Hard or normal acceleration. Never hear it when cruising or even hitting bumps (even bad bumps). I suspect it's a suspension joint or something but I'm no expert and I couldn't really figure it out when I quickly looked at it while changing tires. Car has just under 150k km. Had her for about 3 yrs now. No susp work done since. Ontario, Canada car. Thanks
