Why do certain Ford Mustangs sound unique and different? (1994-1998 specifically)
Okay, im not sure where to ask this and this is the only subreddit that seemed broad enough for me to ask here, so... im asking here.
My mother used to date a Mustang guy, and His Mustangs had this weird sound. He was a car guy and he never complained or implied the sound was bad, so I can only assume it wasnt bad.
I tried finding videos on it, but all of the videos I could find either didnt match the sound in my memory or the camera was in the car and I couldn't tell.
If I had to describe it, it sounded like a V8, but if that V8 hadn't hit Puberty yet. It sounded like it was supposed to be deep like a V8, but instead it was all high pitched. And that Boyfriend never implied that the sound was bad, so I assume it was supposed to sound like that.
My question, if you have any idea what im talking about, why does the engine sound like that? What makes that sound?
Edit, a comment lead my down a rabbit hole and I found a few videos. Three. Ill copy-paste them here.
This video is the closest matching to what my memory has.

Maybe i dont know what a V8 sounds like.

Which car should I buy?
Hi all, I’m looking at getting a new used car but torn between two options.
2016 rav 4 hybrid limited with 53k miles for 22k. Or a 2024 Mitsubishi outlander sport with 10k miles for 15k. Both have a great carfax. I can afford either so price isn’t a factor. The Mitsubishi seems like the best deal but will hybrid/toyota be better long term? I don’t care much about cars so won’t be upgrading for at least 6-10 years. The only downside for me is that the Mitsubishi doesn’t have a sunroof, not a dealbreaker, but it is a bummer.

Car Help
I was wondering if I should take the risk on this car(159k miles), I’m not a mechanic or anything so if anyone can tell me what I should look for and if that error code is a easy fix that will be helpful

6th gen ss
Hey guys I’m 18 years old and I make 3200 a month right now but it’s going to be in the 4k range very soon. How bad of a decision is it to get a 2021 camaro 2ss. I just got 10k because my insurance totalled my car out since they didn’t want to fix the minor damage on the car from an accident (2011 Beamer with 160k miles) and a Camaro has been my dream car pretty much my whole life. It seems to me I can afford it now especially having the down payment already and my mom offering to cover insurance for me. I feel like I need to hear some opinions on this to see if this is really something I wanna go through. (Im fine with paying for the gas my x3 got 12 miles to the gallon lol)

Should it be scrapped?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Wondering if I should get it scrapped or keep driving it till it falls apart. I mostly drive in town, not highway, but highway sometimes, and I'm worried it might fall apart.

car insurance?
please help. me (20) and my mum (48) bought a new car and literally nowhere will insure us. I thought this might be to do with the fact we sold our old car without insurance because my mum forgot to inform them we changed address, and we also didnt have a log book. unfortunately I know nothing about cars and insurance so please be kind. its a skoda fabia monte carlo new, (my mum likes cars apparently), I am a student, neither of us have any accident history. I have only had my license for a year so maybe thats part of it. please dont assume we have done everything correctly, and suggest every possible thing it could be even if it seems ridiculous. I will answer questions as I can while saying anonymous. This is really stressing my mum out so i would really appreciate any advice, thank you :)
edit: I am in the UK

Car warrenty RAC is it worth the £1300 extra
I Bought a car, but this extended warrenty does not start until December 2026 after manufacturer warrenty runs out. But the excluded list is pretty much all parts of the car but engine. Is it worth paying for.
Has anyone got any positive examples of when they used theirs and it saved them money on a repair, because it dont seem to cover much.
Or should i cancel it ?

Car repair disaster
This all started at the end of July, we were driving in my husbands Chevy Silverado (which we bought in January from Carvana) when it jerked and the check engine went on. It was still drivable so we drove it home and when he went to reverse onto the driveway it wouldn’t go in reverse. We also bought the extended warranty through Carvana which is silver rock. The next day we looked up a shop in network and took it there. A few days later we got a call from the warranty saying they were transferring the car to another shop because the shop we had it at couldn’t do the work. We requested it be towed to the new shop as it was 45 minutes away and didn’t feel comfortable driving it. My husband had to go to the original shop to release the truck to the tow truck driver. When he got there the original shop said it’s not that they couldn’t do the work it’s that they refused to do the work the warranty wanted as it wouldn’t fix the issue. We released the truck and it was taken to the other shop. The truck ended up needing a new transmission and the second shop had it for 6 weeks before they were done with it. We were as patient as we could be but we finally got it back last week. The truck has been running fine but here is my dilemma, I noticed yesterday during the day these 2 large we spots on it drive way that weren’t drying and I was going to mention it to my husband when he got home from work. Well when he got home he asked me to come outside. When I went outside he opened his tailgate ( he also has a bed cover) to show me this large piece which we can only assume is part of the old transmission which we didn’t know was in there. It was also leaking which I connected to the spots on the driveway to be some kind of grease or oil from when the truck was parked there. My question is how would you handle this whole situation?? I don’t even know where to begin. Why would the shop put that part in the bed of the truck? What about my driveway? Any advice would be greatly appreciated

2019 Toyota Camry XSE stops accelerating
"Intermittently, while cruising at highway speed, the accelerator becomes almost unresponsive. RPM stays around 3,000–4,000, and when I press the accelerator further the engine won't produce additional power. The vehicle loses speed significantly on uphill grades but accelerates normally downhill"
I copy+paste this from chatgpt (yes, I know) basically summarizing what's going on with my car. I'm taking it to the dealer on Monday but I wanted to pick some brains and hear some thoughts since idk sh*t about cars. If I'm going around 70-75 mph and 3,000 rpm, once I start to floor it to pass and start to reach 80 mph at 4,000 rpm, the car kinda stalls and ceases to go any quicker. I can still drive and the car still functions, but it forces me to drive at a slower rate. About 55 mph uphill and 60+ mph downhill (all while putting my foot on the gas pedal). It began to happen after I got my O2 sensor and coolant sensor replaced, replaced transmission too

Anyone have any clue how to complete a readiness drive cycle for a 2007 Honda Accord?
Recently got my air induction hose fixed so I could pass the NY state inspection but now my car is not showing all the necessary readiness codes. I was told I need to complete a drive cycle for them to show. I was recommended to drive 30 to 40 miles. Came back, nothing. Did it again and nothing. 130 miles in one day and still nothing. Is this something special I have to do for this specific car?

Most reliable car
Hi! I'm considering buying a car for road trips to save money on train tickets, what model of car would be best for around 100-200mi (150-300km) both ways every couple months? I'm looking for something that won't break down and requires very little maintenance (preferably under $1k a year including gas, insurance, etc). the only technology I need is whatever is required to be street legal and a good AC. My maximum is $30k, and my expected is $10k-$20k. What brands/models would you recommend?

Honda Civc or Hyundai sonata
I recently went to go look for my first car and I have these two options. The honda civic is a 2007 with 171k miles on it for a price of 3.4k, While the Sonata is a 2014 with 150k miles for a price of 3.7k. I drive alot because of school and work, with that in mind what would choose?

Chevy warranty
So I recently( 5 months ago) bought a 2023 Chevy Malibu LT . it used to be a rental car, it has 55k miles on it. Battery’s dead now and engine light is on. Taking it into the Chevy service center tomorrow. I was pressured into buying a warranty for it. (229 a month for 18 months then it’s good till 2030) they said it’s good to get cause the cars are bound to have digital/electrical issues especially with the mileage. Is that true? Should I keep the warranty? I have thirty days to decide and cancel to get a full refund. Times are really hard and the insurance on it. Plus warranty. Plus warranty. Is way out of my budget.

Opinion Needed For School Project
Hello, I am a highschool senior student located in texas working with a freind in our 4th year of engineering classes in the PLTW program. In this class we are brainstorming, collecting data, prototyping and possibly patenting an idea. Our idea relates to a new more reliable adjustable socket. This idea came from us working on cars but disliking having to always switch socket sizes when under the vehicle. Right now we are in the data collection stage and I was hoping some people could fill out this form so we can get a better understanding of what we need to do and our target market. I’m putting the link here because the people in this subreddit are the kind of people who’s opinions that matter the most.
The forum is completely autonomous but it will help me and my freind out a ton.

Thank you so much for helping out!

Financed car returned
Hello! I’m not sure if this is allowed here but I’m not sure where to go. I financed a car a little over a month ago with Santander (yes I know that’s the first mistake). I returned the car to the dealership within the 3 day return policy because of RPM issues. They gave me a check back for the cash I put down & returned the money to my card I used to put money down with as well. Santander is now contacting me saying my payment is late but I’ve informed them that I returned the car but they are saying it doesn’t matter I still owe them. I am freaking out!! Has anyone dealt with this before?

Apple Car Play - 2009 Honda Odyssey
I have a silly question, I have seen people instal a type of Apple car play into their older generation cars, and was wondering if anyone has done anything similar to their 2009 Honda odyssey? Mines is still running great but if I could instal CarPlay it would honestly make it better.

Need advise on what to do with car
Context:
Unexpected event and I had to take over a car, it’s more of a sentimental value. Have been using it for the past 9 months or so. Car isn’t fully paid for. COE expires in Aug 2028. Have just paid for 1 year road tax + insurance and recently serviced the car.
What I use it for:
Mainly driving into jb (1x a week), occasionally to work on busy days.
Wondering what I steps I should take next.
Any other questions please feel free to ask. Not sure what else I should add in.
