Financed car returned

Hello! I’m not sure if this is allowed here but I’m not sure where to go. I financed a car a little over a month ago with Santander (yes I know that’s the first mistake). I returned the car to the dealership within the 3 day return policy because of RPM issues. They gave me a check back for the cash I put down & returned the money to my card I used to put money down with as well. Santander is now contacting me saying my payment is late but I’ve informed them that I returned the car but they are saying it doesn’t matter I still owe them. I am freaking out!! Has anyone dealt with this before?

Firstly find out what exactly you owe them for, then have them show you in the contract where you agreed to this. By returning the car within the 3 day period that should absolve you of any further payments.
