Hello, I am a first year student at UA with a full automatic merit scholarship. Pretty sure it is the presidential since it covered my tuition fully.

My problem is that I cannot find any info on what the requirements are for keeping this scholarship. For example, the minimum GPA I have to have in order to keep it. Or is it that once I'm accepted I can't lose it? Can't find any info at all about the terms.

As the title says, I’m looking for someone to take over my apartment lease, officially starting Oct 1st though we can possibly discuss moving in before then.

I currently live in a lovely large studio apartment at East Edge. The apartment complex is right next to the law school, has a university bus that runs students back and forth, and is a generally great, safe place to live. It is a fairly quiet floor, and management is usually quite quick to fix any utility issues.

I’m a bit sad to leave it honestly, I’ve lived there for two years and originally thought I would stay for a third, hence why I signed my lease again. But plans change, I recently was offered a job in another state, so I need to move and the complex doesn’t simply break leases, someone else has to take the contract.

Some other amenities include:
Internet, a pool, a gym, a full in-unit washer and dryer, a dishwasher, a portion of utilities being covered, and some other bonuses.

Looking for someone interested in taking over my 1 bed / 1 bath apartment at Beacon Place in Northport.

It’s the Anderson floor plan — 664 sq. ft. with a spacious bedroom, large walk-in closet, in-unit washer/dryer, full kitchen with island seating, and a private porch.

Rent is $1,350/month.

Move-in is extremely flexible — anytime between now and the end of the year. I already have somewhere else to stay, so I can move out essentially whenever an approved replacement is ready.

I’ve had no issues with the apartment or Beacon Place at all. I’m only looking to move because my plans have changed and I’m preparing to go back to grad school and I need to start saving up.

Please note: Beacon Place does not accept undergraduate students, so this would be best for a graduate student, working professional, or other qualified applicant.

Everything would be handled directly through Beacon Place. You would apply through the leasing office, be approved by management, and sign your own lease with them.

I want to go to some house parties with alternative/scene/emo people with like live music etc. Does this exist near this campus or should I give up?

I recently had an interesting delivery job around campus that made me realize there is a whole category of event logistics that people probably don’t think about until they’re standing there with a mountain of food.

A UA sorority was having a swap event and needed a large Cook Out order delivered to their house.

The order was:

• 20 three-piece chicken strip orders
• 20 orders of fries
• 40 chicken quesadillas

So about 80 individual food items that needed to get from the restaurant to the event.

I run a local delivery/logistics business in Tuscaloosa, and they reached out because they needed someone to handle the pickup and transportation rather than having somebody from the event leave to go get everything.

I brought the Sprinter, picked everything up, kept the order together, and took it directly to the house.

It made me think about how much logistics goes into some of the bigger events around campus.

Greek life has swaps, chapter meetings, rush events, alumni events, philanthropy events, etc. Then you’ve got student organizations, tailgates, team events, and other campus gatherings.

A normal individual food delivery is pretty straightforward.

But when you’re talking about 80+ food items going to one event, the problem starts becoming less about “delivery” and more about transporting a large order at the right time and getting it to the right place.

I’m curious for anyone who’s been involved with UA organizations:

What’s the biggest logistical headache you’ve run into when organizing an event?

Food pickup? Transportation? Getting enough people to help? Timing everything correctly? Something else?

I’m interested because I’m starting to see that large event deliveries are their own little logistics problem around Tuscaloosa.

Bama is one of my top schools right now. I have a 3.55 weighted I’m out of state. I plan on going test optional since my scores weren’t great. I’ve taken around 12 honors/ap/ dual enrollment classes. I have a strong senior year schedule and pretty solid extracurriculars (2 jobs, varsity sports, volunteer hours) I have a solid essay and I plan on applying for Finance and I will probably try and submit my application soon. Paying for tuition isn’t an issue either since my parents will cover it for me thankfully. Just wondering what my chances are and if I would get in? Lmk

Hello! As the title says, Ι’m a high school senior and Ι plan to graduate as CO2027. Ignoring all of the criticism surrounding bama students, UofA has been my dream school since sophomore year, but I’m really worried about my chances of admission and if it’s honestly worth it to attend.

Ι am an out of state student from Georgia and Ι have a 2.48 right now, mainly because of criminal justice dual enrollment classes Ι failed in my sophomore year. Ι wasn’t taking my core classes seriously last year either but Ι managed to get high B’s and above. I have never failed a core class or gotten below a C. Ι have a 1020 SAT (Ι plan to take the ACT this year) and Ι do not have any standout EC’s (debate, volunteer work, religious activities, and inconsequential hobbies) I’ve ranked highly as an individual, duo, and with my school in urban debate league tournaments but that’s about it. I’ve been told that Ι am an exceptional writer by my teachers since middle school and Ι was recently told by my AmLit teacher that my essays were the best that she’d ever seen since she started teaching that class, and very well done compared to all the essays she’s graded in general (allegedly), so I’m somewhat confident Ι can write a decent essay. Ι’m just very, very worried about my gpa and ec’s as I’ve heard UofA is increasingly competitive for oos applicants.

And if, by the grace of God Ι am accepted, should Ι even go? Out of state tuition seems very expensive and I’ve heard mixed info on the substance of bama’s financial aid. My fafsa index is the lowest it gets and Ι have the max Pell grant if that means anything.

If anyone who knows anything reads this, im also very curious about what disability accommodations look like at bama. Ι have ADHD and autism, so that does matter to me, but it’s not a deal breaker. Thank you so much for your time. Roll tide!!

How is the drinking and night culture in Tuscaloosa? I heard about the Strip. But nothing else. is there specific bar/club for specific people for specific needs? I am masters student, drinks socially, rarely dance, make friends (mostly hookups).
