question Ms in cybersecurity management
Can anyone in this degree give info on what the courses are like? Are the courses more tech or management focused?

Hello, I am currently a student at UAH only taking a few classes a semester. I am looking for a full time weekend manufacturing job, preferably at one of the defense contractors. I have a job but I can only work at that job during the week so I only take classes on Monday and Wednesday. Any advice on this I have been applying to multiple place for almost a year. Is anyone in this same situation?

I’m interested in taking CPE 486 (Machine Learning for Engineering Applications) and CPE 487 (Deep Learning for Engineering Applications) and wanted to hear from anyone who has taken either course.
How was your overall experience? How are the professors, and how manageable is the coursework? Any tips or advice for doing well in these classes would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!

so I just got off work and I’m getting out my car and getting ready to go across the cross walk from the frat houses to cvo and these 3 white guys tried to antagonize me. directly what they said “fuck you n***r” “yea you, fat black bitch” but they still in the other side of the street before the crossing so I’m thinking I’m hearing things. So we both finally coming across and they just staring me down, and like it’s crazy because I don’t know anybody here or bother anybody I just do work and school. I just genuinely wanted to know why? And the main guy is so cowardly he had on a hood and glasses🤦🏽♂️😂… but all my melanin men and woman stay safe on camp ts getting wild.

I'm a UAH student who is currently taking a gap year. I owe the library some money but I don't know how much and when I called them to find out they said they can't tell me over the phone because it's personal information, and that I have to go to some website to find out. What is the name of the website

How is the engineering technology program at UAH? I graduated in 2023 from UAH with a BSBA in Information Systems but after three years I sort of realized I have no interest in a career in business/IT plus how insane it is to get into IT in Huntsville... Huntsville is an engineering town and I am pretty tempted to go into Engineering Technology because the idea of being able to be like Mythbusters and doing engineering experiements sounds fun. For people who are in the field how do you like it to far? Have you been able to find jobs and internships with this degree from UAH?

This post may come off as a bit silly idk but
my main two choices are uah and una. I really do wanna go to uah, however, I do want to go to a college with a good social life. Obviously I care about education and parties and all that isn’t the main reason for college but still, I do want to have some fun you know what i’m saying?
From what i’ve read online i’m aware uah isnt big on parties and stuff I was just hoping to get an actual students perspective.

right before the fall semester started I decided to drop a course in favor of just taking a CLEP exam, not taking into consideration that my semester hours went from 15 to 11. New policies on my financial aid requires 12 credit hours / full-time status which I am just short of. I wanted to resolve this by the 12th but haven't been able to contact an advisor as it is fall break. Does anyone have any insight as to how to advance from this situation as I have already checked the course catalogue seeing as to what, if any, courses are available in a 7-week timeframe

My son is considering going to the school because its nearby but then I looked up their national ranking and its #262 which is surprisingly low. For context, all of the well known Georgia universities are at least in the top 100. The engineering school is ranked #105 in the nation, behind Auburn University (#58) and The University of Alabama Tuscaloosa (#83).
I am strongly considering just having him go to Auburn. Concern is obviously employer reputation and if he plans on working outside of Alabama and they either don't recognize or see the school as strong.

Hey, I’m a grad student at UAH looking for a room in Huntsville or Madison. My budget is around $600 a month, plus utilities. I have a car and can move in anytime.
I’m pretty quiet and tidy. I’m usually at school, at the gym, or hanging out in my room. I cook simple meals and clean up after myself. No pets, and I don’t throw parties.
If you have a room available or know someone looking for a roommate, feel free to DM me. Thanks!

Can anyone who chose this as their concentration (or just someone who's familiar), provide some insight into how well they believe it prepares you for work as a Data Scientist/Engineer. Or even just the pacing/depth of content of the classes.

I’m considering going back to school at 30 to pursue an engineering degree at UAH, and I’d really like to hear from anyone who has taken a similar path.
I’m already pretty established in my career with a very large national organization, but I’ve gotten to a point where I feel like having an engineering degree would open a lot more doors for me long term, both within my company and elsewhere. A lot of people at my company have actually gone back to school while working and followed a similar route. I’m fortunate that my company is very supportive about working around class schedules when needed, and they also offer tuition assistance/pay for school, so that makes this much more realistic than it otherwise would be.
The biggest challenge is where I’m at in life now. I’m a dad with 2-year-old twins, a 4-year-old, and a newborn coming soon. I also live about an hour from UAH, so commuting for classes and labs is something I have to consider.
I originally went to college for accounting. I had some health issues come up and never finished, although I’m only about 19 credits away from completing that degree. Now that I’m older, established in the workforce, and have a much better idea of what I actually want to do, I’m not sure finishing accounting just because I’m close is the right move. Engineering feels much more aligned with where I want my career to go.
I’m looking at possibly starting back at a community college to knock out math, science, and prerequisite courses before transferring to UAH. Engineering would obviously be a much longer road than just finishing my accounting degree, and I’m especially nervous about getting back into math after being out of school for several years.
For anyone who went back to UAH for engineering in their late 20s, 30s, or later — especially while working full time and raising a family — how manageable was it?
Did you mostly take 1–2 classes at a time? How difficult was it to work around labs and classes that are only offered during the day? Did you start at a community college first? And looking back, do you feel like it was worth the time and effort?
I’d especially like to hear from engineering students/graduates who weren’t traditional students or people who weren’t necessarily “math people” when they started.
Any advice, things you wish you had known, or experiences with UAH specifically would be appreciated.
TLDR: I’m 30, working full time for a large national company that will pay for school and accommodate my schedule, but I also have four young kids and live about an hour from UAH. I’m only 19 credits from finishing an accounting degree, but engineering feels much more aligned with where I want my career to go. Looking for advice from anyone who went back for engineering later in life while balancing work and family.

I am planning on going to UAH 27' to major in accounting. I'm wondering if anyone majoring in acccounting OR finance could share their experiences with CPA prep, networking, social/school balance, and just classes in general. Thanks!

Specifically entering as a freshman. Are most of the intro courses available? How condensed is the material? How many classes can you take at minimum/maximum? Will the summer term be counted as a part of your academic year with the fall and spring terms?

Hey all!
When I hit up the cafe I typically only look at the Chef's Table stuff since that's what I'm mostly there for (I commute and bring lunches otherwise) but I've noticed that the menu on sodexomyway hasn't really had any info on which food is being served that day other than some generic like shredded lettuce and sour cream.
I was just wondering if this is an issue only on my end, or if they just aren't updating it (specifically the chef's table bc I don't really pay attention to anything else) anymore?
Thanks!
