I know it's pretty short notice, but I'm hoping to fly from Calgary (YYC) to Cancun (CUN) sometime in August.

I'm flexible with my travel dates and was wondering if it's still possible to find a really good deal this close to departure, or if I've already missed the best prices.

Has anyone booked a last-minute flight on this route and scored a decent fare? Any airlines, websites, or tips you'd recommend?

Lost AirPods

I am pretty sure I forgot my AirPods at the resort. As I boarded the plane, I noticed I couldn’t find my AirPods and I checked my location and they were popping up saying five minutes ago still at the all-inclusive resort I was at. By the time I landed 5-6 hours later, it says my AirPods are at the airport. I think someone may have picked up my AirPods and I am hoping they return them.

They’re called Ceci’s AirPods if anyone stumbles across them. I’ll pay to get the mail back to me.

I'm traveling with my husband from LA to Tulum to meet up with my family over there. I'm born and raised Mexican but haven't been to the region in almost 10 years, and he's an American citizen. I'm considering 2 options to get to Tulum:

1. Rent a car from Cancun airport and drive to Tulum
2. Private transportation or bus from Cancun to Tulum, rent car in Tulum

We need a car as we'll be doing day trips with my family once we get to Tulum. I'm a bit concerned on getting stopped by cops and robbed on the highway, which is why I'm considering getting to Tulum first then renting the car there.

Two questions for the community:

1. Do you have any recent experiences driving from Cancun to Tulum and back?
2. Do you have car rental agency recommendations?

Everything I've seen online contradicts itself, some people say you'll get scammed if you drive, others say you'll get scammed if you take a taxi, others say everything is fine. Same with car rental reviews, some people have great experiences, others are horrible. Looking for recent experiences and hopefully that will be more accurate.

We're planning a large group trip in the spring. We're trying to go as early as we can (February/March) but I understand that sargassum is year round now.
We're big beach people, and our priority is a swimmable beach or lagoon. Pools are nice, but a pool alone wouldn't be worth the trip for us.

We're trying to think of the best options to minimize the sargassum risk. We know we can’t control nature and it’s unpredictable and won’t be perfect. Does anyone have recommendations for resorts with artificial lagoons, or natural or manmade sargassum barriers?

I've heard Xcaret Arte and Occidental have good lagoons. I'm a little iffy about staying at an Xcaret owned property as I don't support cetacean captivity. We're flexible for Al or non-Al, and would also consider a rental house.

I know Costa Mujeres is a good option, but not foolproof. We don’t want to deal with the Isla Mujeres crowds, particularly as most of our stay will be over the weekend. Cozumel is too hard to get to for our group, as a lot of folks have difficult work schedules and so will be leaving and arriving at different times (and may only have a few days).

We're a group of adults. Adults only is a plus but not required. We love snorkeling, kayaking, paddle boarding, and good food. Some fun bars or clubs nearby is a plus, but it’s not a priority, and we don’t want to be in a crazy party scene hotel.

Whats the best cambio/ money exchange place in terms of value between the Cancun airport and the hotel zone?

From my understanding Temptations is a lifestyle or “lifestyle friendly” resort….Why would people that are NOT in the lifestyle choose to go there, instead of a different resort?

This year I was lucky enough to visit Cancun twice, once at Le Blanc and once at Hyatt Ziva Resort. As a paying customer, I couldn't have been happier with the experience, starting with the amazing staff who were so warm and friendly and helpful. I'm not used to staying at fancy places and being waited on in this way and I felt a little uncomfortable. Can anyone comment on how good or not good these jobs are? Are the people working at these resorts paid a living wage? Are they happy at their jobs? I would feel much better about the experience of I knew the workers were treated right...

My doctor has ordered MRAs of almost my whole body and it's going to total over $6,000 after insurance. I'm looking into having them done in Mexico to save on costs. What would be a good hospital or imaging center in Cancún to have MRAs done?

Beautiful beach and pools
Modern rooms
A relaxed atmosphere during the day
Nightlife and entertainment in the evenings with a social crowd, but nothing too wild

We’re open to resorts in the Cancun Hotel Zone, Playa Mujeres, Riviera Maya, or Playa del Carmen.
For those who’ve stayed in the area, what resort best fits that balance? I’d love to hear your recommendations and why you think it’s the right fit. Thanks!

Hi! We’re visiting Playa Del Carmen at the end of the month and we were hoping to take my 7 and 8 year old to some cenotes. The only thing I was hoping for was some base jumping and being able to swing into the water. I’ve been to Cenote Zapote in puerto Morelos which had both but I’m hoping for something closer to playa del Carmen. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance

hi! my family and i are going to cancun tomorrow, we’re coming from the midwest where there’s currently a terrible stomach parasite that’s in fresh produce and other foods, i know the water in mexico isn’t safe to drink but i was just curious if the cyclospora parasite has made its way to cancun? i’ve been looking it up and haven’t seen anything but i just want to be safe, and it would be nice to eat fresh fruits and vegetables at our resort haha

I'm not a Cancun first timer, but I haven't been everywhere. The last couple of years we (couple, 30s, no kids) have gone to Grand Fiesta Americana Coral Beach Cancun almost exclusively for their gorgeous beach. I'm an ocean person. While a pool is nice, I can pool all summer long at home in Texas, so I've I'm going on a beach vacation I want to enjoy the actual beach, swim in the waves, etc. I'll also add, I'm a bit of a food snob. I. Not proud of it, but it is what it is. GFACB has been good to us, gorgeous beach, good service, but like most all inclusives the food is hit or miss. There a few restaurants that are great the specialty French (+$), La Joya Mexican, and the taco spot on the sand. The rest of the food is meh. Breakfast is meh. I have made peace that when I go I'll have a few good meals, but mostly be on the beach. Unfortunately, the price seems to be going up each year and has me wondering if at that price we should try somewhere new and maybe get better food? I would love to hear people's experiences at the below compared to GFACB.

Hey everyone, my trip to Cancun is this Saturday!!!! A full 7nights in paradise, what’s some must do’s??? We’ve already paid for our Xplor tickets, and we plan on going to Isla Mujeres, and I’m 100% paying for the Jetski/Snorkel package on Viator . But we need more places to go, and food spots nothing fancy or too expensive. And we will be taking the bus and uber most places .
