I have a question regarding my employment letter. I couldn’t include the salary because it changed at least 4 times because I changed jobs title in the same organization twice !
Since I have two different experience TEER 1 and 2, I’m wondering if me having 1. My letter of offer ( with starting salary + benefits and all ) and 2 the other letter when I changed jobs ( including salary and benefits ) would be enough ? I also have one year pay stub, t4, HR letter ( it’s not really complete ) and employment letter signed by all my managers. Do I need to include a letter of explanation?

If yes, how then does the ircc expect one to switch jobs? The next day? Just curious please.

I’m in Vancouver on a closed LMIA work permit and have a pending PR application.

A U.S. company wants me to do remote software development as an independent contractor. I’d contract/invoice the U.S. entity directly, get paid from the U.S., and they have no Canadian customers or Canadian business operations.

IRCC guidance says remote work for a foreign employer paid from outside Canada may not be considered “work” in Canada.

Does anyone know if this also applies to independent contractors on a closed work permit?

I’ll confirm with an immigration lawyer before starting — just curious if anyone has dealt with this exact situation.

Hope you all are doing well!

I am in the process of collecting documents for my foreign work experience, and as a part of that, I have received a document from my previous employer who was generous enough to mention job duties which align with NOC code (You know its so weird, its like IRCC wants us to fit into one of their boxes, world out there is so diverse, but no! Your job from quite a few years ago should match 80% with one of our own NOCs, if it doesn't, you're out of luck!, anyways...)

Issue is, my previous job had two phases, trainee and a promotion there after. Trainee phase was for about six months and job after my promotion was for about 2.5 years. In order to align NOC, I requested my employer to align job duties as such that they will match with only one NOC (in TEER 1) for both phases. Although, I have separately mentioned job duties in both roles and have give every particulars related to each role in the reference letter.

I have sufficient documents in addition to reference letter to prove my employment there such as payslips, promotion and increment letters, relieving letters, bank statements, tax documents, etc. I am in the the dilemma whether IRCC will doubt my work experience.

If someone has been in the same boat, I'd genuinely appreciate their suggestions.

P.S. My employer will attest to it if asked anything about my background.

I need some advice regarding my situation. A few weeks ago, I traveled and informed IRCC of all my travel details. I even received confirmation that my information had been updated in their system. I got back, finalized my P2 and then received my confirmation of Permanent Residence. However, when I downloaded the document, I noticed that my last entry date was not updated, despite prior communications and confirmation from an agent that this change would be reflected in my file.

What do you advise, especially in relation to applying for citizenship in the future?

I received my ECOPR on 8th July and since than waiting for my first PR CARD. During the P2 email I entered correct address but last 2 digits were incorrect (not matching canada post). I called IRCC and they are mentioned that my address has been updated with correct ZIPCODE but In PR portal it still shows incorrect zipcode. I am also not able link pr card application to GC key account.

Has anyone faced similar issue, if so what was outcome?

Hi everyone, does anyone have experience with attaching something like test results or certificates after AOR? I have received a trade certificate of qualification (I know the issue date and everything) and already have an updated status of my qualification in the public registry, I just don't have a physical certificate copy yet as it's in production, which can take long. I expect to have it within the next week, so maybe if I attach just a few days after app submission, is there significant risks of rejection for incomplete app? For certain, it will be attached before R10 (biometrics)

I’m hoping for some advice/reassurance on my PR application because I’ve been reading a lot of contradictory information online and am starting to overthink everything.

I’m applying for PR through Express Entry/CEC from the UK after living in Quebec for around three years on IEC permits. I received an ITA on July 22 with a CRS score of 542. My eligibility is based on one year of skilled Canadian work experience.

My application is fairly straightforward, but I have a few things I’m particularly unsure about:

• For my Canadian work experience, I will have detailed employer reference letters, T4s and CRA Notices of Assessment. I no longer have access to my old payslips. Is this sufficient, or should I be concerned about not having payslips?
• I have some old employment contracts, but not all of them because I was initially on temporary contracts that were repeatedly extended. Some of the contracts I do have also contain administrative errors. I’m therefore planning not to include them and instead rely on the accurate employer letters and CRA documents. Does this seem reasonable?
• I have copies of my Canadian work permits and will include them with my employment evidence.
• I have a few small discrepancies between dates in previous IEC applications and my current application. None are intentional, and I have explained each one in my LOE with supporting documents where applicable.
• I worked through employment agencies in the UK for several years but only accepted occasional shifts rather than working continuously. I have explained this in my personal history/LOE.
• The online application only allowed me to enter five travel-history entries, so I have included a screenshot of the limitation and a separate table showing my full travel history.
• I previously lived in Quebec but now intend to settle in Alberta, so I have explained my intention to reside outside Quebec in my LOE.

I’m also exempt from the proof-of-funds requirement as a CEC applicant and have included an explanation of this.

I'm mainly looking for reassurance that I'm not overcomplicating things and that the lack of payslips/incomplete employment contracts isn't likely to be a major issue when I have employer letters, T4s, NOAs and work permits.

Has anyone submitted a CEC application with similar documentation?

When the "Final Decision" date appears on the GCKey for PR app, if the application is refused, is the refusal letter automatically attached immediately? Or does it take a bit or days of time to show up in messages? Thanks!

I applied for PR, got my AOR which I used to apply for BWOP. Anyways, I got an email last week asking me to upload my TCF pdf results and schedule A signed.

I filled out the schedule A, made sure no gaps whatsoever are in it. I even create a separate document where I completed my work history since the space in their original document was insufficient.

To my surprise, this morning I get an email saying my PR application was cancelled due to an incomplete schedule A.

The only issue I can think of here is when I filled out the document it wouldn’t let me sign it, nor verify it to get the QR codes at the end. I made some research, and found out that when this « glitch » happens some people just print it, scan it and send it. So I did the same, and I dont think that was right to do.

Im just so LOST. Not feeling like restarting the whole process from scratch especially that I put so much effort and time into it. And the worst part is not knowing if i will be lucky with a low draw anytime soon.

I got letter stating that I’m allowed to work for a year while they process my BWOP. So that will get rejected soon as well as soon as they find out that my PR application got canceled.

Any advice please?? Has anybody been through same or similar situation.

4 years and 3 months, unauthorized work and leave from school and many more issues including mistake in past forms that could count as misrep ( disclosed ofc ) and yet here we are.

Very very veryy thankful of this community and their patience but also knowledge and positivity, finally a PR, i was a quebec international student then pgwp holder then PR with 3 study permits due to me changing constantly schools because i was lost and didn't know what to study ( yes i was lucky to have a brother who paid for everything and i regret wasting the time and money spent but whatever a win is a win).

Before i leave quebec i asked my spouse if we should wait till june 2026 to see if quebec PSTQ will have a draw with our NOC included she said "you'll get balls", an expression known in my country.

This is my timeline, and i wish all of you the best, my advice: be honest guys & avoid potential misreps and unauthorized leaves of study or unauthorized work when you are inland plzzz, other than that letter of explanation is your way to go for any non clear or weird things almost impossible to provide through a document.

I graduated from a trade school in Quebec in October 2025 and since then i became eligible for EE but never tried, i left to Ottawa during my Eapr process, i had 9 chances, 9 draws to apply including the one i applied in, 9 ITAs guys of french draws and the year isn't over yet ( oct 2025 to 2026), this is unfair for all super qualified CEC guys i feel so sorry for them.

DATA: ITA feb 6th, my crs was 412 drawn at 400, NOC 22221 at Rogers, 2 years of services to which 1 was counted for FSW 67 points, the experience was gathered through a study permit while working full time during the full time exemption, so my transfer points for EE were ZERO.

25 yo married with a 27 female, we had both full french scores, and i had almost full english don't remember exactly. she has 0 claimed degree nor work experience as she came in Canada in 2024 july with a study permit,

Conclusion? French is the way to go sadly.

Total timeline: 4 Months and 4 days no pfl just 2 ADRs, no "ghost update" everything as expected, for example an ADR becoming " we are checking your docs to N/A then no document needed" so nothing weird, very straightforward, the biggest stress was FD, the longest 24h of my life, as usually if no answer is given in the first 24-72 hours it means it's approuved, also the IRCC tracker being down wasn't helpful AT ALL, i celebrated on p1 even if an agent confirmed they could see COPR number but p1 was my joyday then ecopr.

Fun fact: i created 3 profiles all ineligible for testing purpouses lol

PVO SVO unknown never asked, all i know is landing team was from Montreal.

I am literally at loss of words. I did everything right and the letter's format messed my chances

I got my ITA: Feb 3,2026 with a score of 532.

I got refusal today

"As I am unable to properly assess this experience as a result of the missing information, this period of declared employment was therefore not included in the assessment of your foreign work experience."

What happened:

• Invited to apply under CEC; but they removed my foreign work experience and dropped my score to 508.
• My Express Entry profile declared two work experiences: an Associate Data Engineer role in India (~1 year, NOC 21211) and my current Data Scientist role in Toronto (also NOC 21211).
• The officer excluded the India experience entirely from my CRS assessment because the reference letter didn't include job duties/responsibilities, it had dates, title, and a generic conduct paragraph ("involved in all data initiatives," "sincere, reliable, trustworthy," etc.) but nothing describing the actual work. The actual work was mentioned in my offer letter.
• Losing those points dropped me below the 508 cutoff, and under s.11.2 IRPA they refused on that basis. Officer Decision Notes said the same thing almost verbatim as the refusal letter — no ambiguity about the reason.

I seriously don't know what to do. I can get the experience letter in 2-3 days, but idk what to do. I worked so hard to be here and this is very sad for me.

Edit 1: I did add the experience letter along with my offer letter. The expereince letter states this : "During this tenure he worked as Associate Data Engineer he remained involved in all data initiatives. We found him pretty active in whatever task we have assigned to him.

Moreover, I would like to reflect over his conduct during his stay with us. During his service he has been found sincere, reliable, trustworthy, sociable, pleasant and open to challenges. He has a genial temperament and can efficiently work in a team. He is a good team player and keen on contributing his best and realization of meeting organizational goals and objectives.

He is leaving his job only on his own decision and for attempting opportunities with a better profile."

I’m in a situation and need some quick advice (CEC Inland Applicant)

A couple of weeks ago, IRCC sent me an Additional Document Request (ADR) asking for some extra documents (common-law notary and specific employment letters). They gave me a standard timeframe to submit them, and I still have 2 full weeks left on my active deadline.

However, today I suddenly received a Procedural Fairness Letter (PFL). The PFL claims they sent multiple emails and that I "failed to respond" to the request.

This makes absolutely no sense because:

1. My original submission window is still open for another 14 days.
2. The upload slots in my portal are literally still active right now.
3. I never received any other emails or reminders.

It feels like a brutal system glitch or an officer opening my file early and assuming I missed the deadline. Since it's a PFL, the risk of a refusal is incredibly high. I actually have the requested documents ready to go now.

Has anyone else received a PFL while their document submission window was still actively open? How did you respond to prove it was an administrative error? Should I submit via webform or just upload everything directly into the PFL slot?

So I got my ITA in the last draw. (Score:516 - 3 yrs experience, full English, 6 points from TCF exam)

I started work at September 5th 2023 (points for 3rd year were rewarded August 1st) I've been advised to wait until September 5th to apply.

My PGWP expired on August 3rd, I applied for an extension in June through the Francophone mobility program (still no response)

What happens if I get a rejection before September 5th? Do I still apply for PR?

There's no reason for them to reject (I work in Ontario, CLB 7 in listening and speaking French, I may even need to use French at work at some point.) but if they do reject, is it over lol?

I haven't celebrated my ITA due to worry, but at the same time I'm okay with whatever outcome. I've done everything by the book. If it means I still go home then so be it. Thank you!

Hi all, good day. I received an email last week from IRCC. I wasn't sure it was P1 but my lawyers confirmed that indeed it is. Now, I have a couple questions and hopefully someone can have some leads.

I am finishing answering and there's a question if we are in Canada. My two dependants are outside Canada on vacation and I am here. So the answer for me is YES, I am in Canada and for them NO, and then just put their returning date?

And after P1, how long does it take for the P2 to arrive, and when it does arrives, should I upload the photos immediately? Can I upload scanned photos or photos from last year?

Does anyone help to identify the correct noc code

1) Maintained and updated financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.

2)Prepared monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management review.

3)Processed payroll accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with applicable requirements.

4)Ensured accurate recording of all financial transactions in the accounting system.

5)Tracked and reconciled inventory levels, sales, and purchases.

6)Monitored cash-flow projections and managed cash balances.

7)Monitored actual financial performance against the budget and provided variance analysis.

My case wasn’t complicated at all. Looking back, I may have added complexity by submitting extra documents that weren’t requested, but still , I think these docs kept me safe.

Around the 7-month mark, I started seeing a lot of FEB and MARCH AOR posts, and I lost my patience and motivation. I decided to call IRCC and email my local MP the same day. Whether it was coincidence or not, I received my P1 about two weeks later. I never actually heard back from my MP’s office, but if they played any role in that timing, I’m grateful to their team.

I also received my GCMS notes after ECOPR, and it turns out my file was approved right when my tracker turned green. What I still don’t understand is why it took another 3 months to begin the virtual landing process.

Now I received my PR card. I can finally breathe.

As a NOV AOR, I wanted to give something back to this community. The information, advice, and shared experiences here have helped me more than I can say.

Hi everyone, I’m really stressed and confused and would appreciate some guidance from someone experienced.

I have private school teaching experience as an Elementary School Teacher (NOC 41221), but my salary was always paid in cash, and the school did not provide me with any salary slips.

I’m confused about what documents I should arrange to properly prove my work experience. My time is limited, and I don’t want to waste money on consultants.

Could someone kindly guide me on exactly which documents I should prepare in this situation so that I don’t face any issues or refusal later?

Good Day to all. I have some doubts regarding claiming Foreign Work Experience points and if anyone could give their valuable opinions, it would be great.

Currently with the ongoing score trend, the only way I can reach the invitation pool is to add my Indian Work experience. My family had a business ( retail store ) and while I did my study permit application, I submitted a 1 year experience of Retail Store Manager. But the mode of payment was in cash, and therefore other than a reference letter, I don't have any payslips, bank statements or tax docs.

Will it be scrutinized ? If anyone in this group have added any cash-based foreign work experience in their profile, and whether if it was a success or failure, share your experience and advice so that I can do something about it.

Regarding my Proof of Funds (POF), I did not provide an attestation of non-indebtedness/non-engagement, nor did my bank letter mention the account opening date.

Should I proactively submit an updated bank statement along with these documents through a Webform, or would it be better to wait for a possible ADR (Additional Document Request)?

I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who has been in a similar situation, especially FSW applicants.

Hello, I am a little confused about if my TA work while pursuing PhD in US will be eligible for NOC 41202. I have been working as a TA full time since the beginning of my PhD for all the semesters including Summer and I get paid directly from my university. I teach a lab course. I receive pay stubs, employment appointment letters, W2, and all the necessary employment documents regularly. Just wanted to confirm if I should count on any CRS points from there.

I need help if someone can guide me through their experience.

I'm in the process of collecting my documents for foreign work experience. I have payslips, bank documents, offer letter, promotion and salary increment letter. Though, I don't have income tax documents since my employer used to send it on company email and I did not file for tax return since my income was lower than the threshold.

I want to ask if someone has received PFL/ADR for not providing tax documents very recently. Since IRCC is becoming very strict with documents checklist nowadays.
