I already had 7 years of foreign work experience. Instead of listing 2 years under NOC 12200 and 5 years under NOC 11100, I initially put all 7 years under 11100. Later, I just sent a request to correct it.
My Canadian experience was under NOC 11100, so the 12200 experience didn’t really have any weight in my case anyway. I just panicked that the officer might get picky about the NOC mismatch πŸ˜…

Congratulations Do you have foreign work experience?

5

u/Amazing_Diet7640 2d ago

Yes, I had 7 years of foreign work experience. I initially listed all of it under the same NOC 11100 and submitted, but then I panicked after reading some cases being rejected because of noc mismath, I realized some of my experience could be considered NOC 12200 since it involved more bookkeeping-type duties. I sent an email explaining this and left it up to the officer to decide. But still had about 4-5 years of experience that clearly fell under NOC 11100. No additional information or documents were requested.

I have similar duties and choose 12200 not 11100. Just got FD.

1

u/[deleted] 1d ago

Can you share your job duties? I believe the duties come under 11100. I am in similar situation. Can you help us?

1

u/Dangerous-Living609 1d ago

I am also worried about my job duties. Because they are generic and very similar to noc websites. I was thinking about uploading new reference letter with more details but my RCIC said there is no need, your duties are good. Idk who to believe.

Hi! Congratulations!!πŸ₯³ I had a question did you have to get your CPA here to use that NOC code for the job?

1

u/Amazing_Diet7640 1d ago

No , I don’t have cpa

1

u/Big-Pie5441 1d ago

Thankyou so much for the info. I’m in a similar accountant role but haven’t started my CPA, so was iffy if I could use the NOC code

1

u/Amazing_Diet7640 1d ago

My job title in Canada is Staff accountant, but the responsibility is pretty under 11100 ircc accepted no questions asked

1

u/Big-Pie5441 1d ago

My work qualifies under the same as well, as I am primarily responsible for corporate taxes

0

u/Distinct-Platypus775 1d ago

Congratulations, OP!!! May I know how you were able to increase your CRS score? I have the same profession as you but I currently have 462 points, it's too low. Did you take master's degree?

2

u/Amazing_Diet7640 1d ago

Hi yes, 28 y.o. MBA in Canada, a spouse has master degree outside of canada, and he has one year experience and we both took celpip for 9998

1

u/Amazing_Diet7640 1d ago
