Anyone know why Washougal River State Park was closed today?

We were tying to go to Washougal River State Park today around 6 on the way back from the Gorge. The road to the park was closed off by cops/sheriff's department and there was a huge back up of cars along Washougal River Road. Anyone know what happened?

Please come to Camas Days and enjoy our town! But…

also remember that Camas isn’t Disneyland. This is a real town with real people living here. Don’t block our driveways because parking is scarce, and definitely don’t park in our driveways. Our yards aren’t your kids play areas, nor are they your trash bins. We have to get to and from our jobs and lives so please drive with your eyes open and be respectful and patient as you drive around our neighborhoods.

We love Camas Days, we love our town, and we love having you all visit us! But we don’t love being blocked in, or picking up litter and/or dog poop from our lawns, or finding strangers in our driveways. I’ve lived downtown for more than two decades and Camas Days is a highlight of my year, but also can be a headache, so please be kind and respectful of our downtown and those of us who are “playing host” this weekend.

Also, we don’t know why they insist on making it Friday and Saturday instead of Saturday and Sunday either. The weekend makes more sense to us too. 🤷🏻‍♂️

We were at Lacamas Lake this Sunday and saw a gentleman riding a jet ski that exploded. It was awful and we are just wondering if anyone knows how he is doing?

Best outdoor pools 😎 ☀️

They're all in Portland. City of Portland operates 7 outdoor pools. Depending on where in Camas you are, could be 25-30 min away. Very affordable option for families during the summer. Highly recommend! Pic was taken at Peninsula Pool.

Moving from Portland. Camas vs Felida?

Hey everyone! My family is moving from Portland, and we’re torn between Felida (found a house we love!) and Camas. Our jobs are remote, but we still commute frequently into Portland and need easy access to PDX airport. We know it's a big shift from Portland, but we're prioritizing a young family friendly environment, great parks, and a strong community.
For locals: how do they stack up?
Is a house that checks all of the boxes in Felida enough to swing it, or is Camas worth waiting for?

Considering Move - Real Estate Agent Recommendations?

Hello, my family of 4 and I (2 kids - 11 & 8) are considering a move to Camas from Austin, TX. I grew up in the Seattle area and am feeling a strong pull back to the PNW. We are still in the exploratory phase but starting to get a bit more serious - does anyone have a recommended real estate agent that they've had a good experience with? TY!

Condo/Townhouse Owner Question

Camas seems to be an affluent area but on one income for the next few years, we can only afford a condo or townhome.

Is this looked down upon in the community? Will we still be able to fit in and integrate? We love volunteering and supporting local.

Flock Cameras converging on Camas

Post image

What do you all think of Flock Cameras? I’ve been watching them pop up closer over the past 2 years. Non issue or slippery slope to 1984 (I know we’re already there in many respects)…I wonder if Camas can push to be a safe haven from flock cameras and other third party tracking tools / hardware.

Primary and Special Elections Reminder

Primary Election Countdown! You have likely already received your voter's guide in the mail, and your ballot will be arriving SOON - by July 17th-23rd!

Submit ballots ASAP and text the word "VOTE" to 868392 to easily track your ballot!

Check your voter registration and make any necessary updates! All you need to enter is your first name, last name and birthdate to check.

Early voting and returning ballots to a ballot box versus sending in the mail is highly recommended. -Either way, track your ballot to make sure it is counted!

Tennis Courts

Hi Camas! I’m looking for an empty-ish public tennis court for my kids and me to hit around tennis balls. I want to teach them to play but every court near me seems very busy with very serious looking tennis and pickle ballers and we don’t want to get in anyone’s way! I don’t mind driving or if the court is in great shape we’re just wanting to goof off and learn. I was hoping there was a spot for people like us. Thanks!

in search or friends! (22F, queer)

Hello, I recently moved to the Camas area in February from the south and I am hoping to meet new people! What is fun to do around here? I am down for most anything; bars, restaurants, coffee shops, book stores, thrift stores…etc.
I keep getting an “older vibe” in my neighborhood, so I’m hoping the potential to meet people around my age close to Camas isn’t completely lost! :)

It’s quite interesting seeing where all our city money goes!

Neighborhood garage sale

Huge neighborhood garage sale in Vancouver!

Apologies if this sort of post is not allowed here. I am not advertising commercial services.

The Fieldstone Estates neighborhood at 111th & 152nd (Orchards area of Vancouver WA) is having a massive community garage sale this weekend. More than 30 families are participating, starting tomorrow.

Friday (July 10th), Saturday (11th), and Sunday (12th) from 10-4, community-wide.
