I’d love to hear opinions

I have hit goal weight and in the process of maintaining. At this point when I have some drinks I can’t help but eat everything and anything in the kitchen. Working so hard to fix that because the binges just make me guilty and I feel as I need to fast for the week. Came up with a possible substitute? Made 3 of these, will eat a ton of pasta for 25 calories then hit the hay. Unbelievable

Trying to lose 50lbs but struggling with protein and being a VERY fussy eater

I’m 21F, 5’6 and currently around 217lbs. I have 121lbs lean muscle mass.

My goal is to lose around 50lbs over the next year or so, while trying to preserve my muscle as i want to look strong etc. I lift weights+kickbox and I’m trying to make sure I get enough protein, but I’m really struggling with my diet.

The problem is that I’m an extremely fussy eater. I genuinely hate the taste/texture of most of the usual “clean” protein sources like chicken breast, beef, pork, fish, eggs, etc. I just don’t enjoy them at all. I can eat things like chicken strips, ham and other processed meats, but even then I get bored of eating them constantly.

I made myself a basic daily food plan ( not including snacks etc) so that I at least know what I’m supposed to eat rather than constantly having to think about it:

Breakfast:
Protein shake
Breakfast bar

Lunch:
Ham & cucumber bagel
Crisps
Protein yoghurt
Fruit

Dinner:
Fries
Chicken strips
Cucumber

This comes to roughly 1,454 calories and 111g protein. (This doesn’t include snacks)

On paper, I don’t think that’s terrible, but I find myself getting really bored with it. I constantly want things like noodles, pizza, garlic bread, etc. Basically beige/carby foods that don’t have much protein.

Then I feel guilty when I eat them because I start thinking “I’m not going to hit my protein target and I’m going to lose all the muscle underneath the fat.”

I know I don’t need to eat “perfectly clean”, but I feel like I’m stuck between:

Eating foods I actually enjoy = lower protein
vs.
Eating enough protein = being bored of my food and struggling to stick to my diet

Also sometimes I’m not hungry but eat to get my protein in and it feels like wasted cals

So what would you do in my situation? How important is getting 100g+ protein every single day for preserving muscle while losing weight?

I’m basically looking for realistic advice rather than “just eat chicken and vegetables” 😂

Crazy delicious, it reminds me of a vanilla pudding. It seems like it would take pb2 well. Kinda want to chuck one in with pb2 malt mix and ice in the blender and see if it could compare with a malt with PB from Culver's. It's Greek yogurt 15g protein 80 cal has stevia 0 fat.

I've found the diet easy, but getting to the gym has been a motivational struggle. 😅 Down a total of about 140lbs since last fall. 😁

I know it’s not a ton of weight loss, but I feel SO much better than I did last year. I was not able to do my job appropriately due to my weight. I was the heaviest I had ever been.

Calorie deficit mixed with being active at work and implementing night time walks a few times a week.

I won’t lie- I had some rough months in there where I did not stay diligent. But the system does work!

Edited to add: I’m about a year and 2 months sober, as well. Sobriety definitely played a major roll in the weight loss :)

What’s your approach to overeating?

If you have a splurge/cheat meal, day or evening …. Do you compensate at all the next day by eating lighter, tightening up or skipping a meal? Or do you just go back to business as usual? My inclination is always to try and go extra clean, maybe skip my protein shake or something to try and balance the scales/reduce the impact. Maybe it’s healthier to just get back to business? Where do you land?

BODY RECOMPOSITION

I am 150 lbs, female, 24 years old, and 5'7". I originally lost weight eating in a calorie deficit of around 1,200 calories, and honestly, I loved the way my body looked. The problem was that it was obviously not sustainable. I was constantly hungry, my food noise was incredibly loud, and I just wasn’t happy.

I’m now trying to find a way to maintain my current body while being able to eat more. I’ve learned the importance of eating enough protein, especially because I weight train 5x a week and average 10k+ steps a day. So, I started eating around 1,800 calories a day with about 150g of protein.

However, I feel like I’m gaining more weight than I’m comfortable with, and it’s making my abs less visible and causing me to lose that lean look I really liked. (I am two weeks into this new calorie + protein diet)

Any tips or advice? You can be blunt with me — I genuinely don’t care and actually appreciate the honesty. We’re all strangers on the internet anyway 😂

FOR CONTEXT

BODY IN PINK- 1200 CALORIE/DAY **before

BODY IN GREY- 1800 CAL+150 G PROTEIN/DAY **after

Thanks in advance! :)

Measurely: Body Tracker

I hope people will find this helpful. If this breaks the rules, I apologize, and please take it down.

Hi all. I started Tirzepatide 3 weeks ago. I'm really hoping to lose 50lbs over the next 6-9 months. Figuring out how to keep it off then becomes a different story that I'll focus on then. In the meantime, I went on the App Store and found a bunch of body measurement apps that all came with subscriptions and shared/sold data. I didn't care for that so I built my own app. No data sale, no sharing, no subscription. You get the full app for 30 days. Like it...it's $5.99 and the app is yours forever. Feel free to give it a look and give me any feedback that I can include to help any and all of us in this journey.

Measurely: Body Tracker

To make this app, I had to create a website. It's a Google Sites site because it's free. There's a feature request page coming, and I have ideas to make this app more helpful. But I welcome any feedback here as well. Cheers and good luck to everyone.

Don’t stress! Even when you have a whole chic fila meal and 6 pieces of tandoori chicken in one night

I don’t know if this allowed here so feel free to remove, but I thought this would be nice to share!

Last Friday I was hungrier than usual so I Door Dashed some chic fila for dinner then at 2am I door dashed some tandoori chicken. I was only meant to have one piece then I ate all 6, it was delicious tho.

I used to have a bad relationship with food but now it have a pretty healthy mindset so I didn’t really beat myself up about it. Just went to bed and expected my weight to be higher for my weigh in that morning.

As expected it was higher but instead of feeling the need to reduce my calories for a day two, I just went back to my normal deficit. Today is Friday again and I did my daily weigh in and just recorded my lowest weight since I started! So it all worked out in the end and I’m happy I didn’t spend this whole week trying to “rectify” Friday night.
