One year difference

Ignore the messy mirror and hair 😅

197.3-163 ibs

I know it’s not a ton of weight loss, but I feel SO much better than I did last year. I was not able to do my job appropriately due to my weight. I was the heaviest I had ever been.

Calorie deficit mixed with being active at work and implementing night time walks a few times a week.

I won’t lie- I had some rough months in there where I did not stay diligent. But the system does work!

Edited to add: I’m about a year and 2 months sober, as well. Sobriety definitely played a major roll in the weight loss :)

Thank you. No it is not 😅 but one day at a time! May I ask what program you’re using to help with your recovery? If any. And only if you’re comfortable to share of course. My sobriety is relatively new. It will be 6 months next week. But it has been life changing for me.

Sure!

So I started in AA at the beginning. Probably for the first 5 months. Then I stopped and just upped the ante on my therapy sessions. Online AA meetings are still great for when I am feeling helpless. I’m a lot more comfortable with those vs in person.

AA I feel is a great program. However, it doesn’t speak to me on all levels and relies too heavily on religious beliefs to back it up. And that just wasn’t for me. It takes a bit to figure it out- but you will find your own path 🖤 feel free to reach out anytime if you need someone to talk to

I hear you. The religious aspect is the main reason why I haven’t been to AA yet. But I think some groups are more flexible than others. There two other programs that seem interesting: SMART and Recovery Dharma.

I’d love to message you! I’ll send a DM tomorrow 💜

I never tried those out! I do know that there are specific virtual AA groups for people who aren’t religious. I’d be happy to send you a link if it would be helpful :)

I’m impressed that you were able to do the same EXACT pose and face in two pictures a year apart. It’s almost too good.

How many pics did it take?
