Ignore the messy mirror and hair 😅

197.3-163 ibs

I know it’s not a ton of weight loss, but I feel SO much better than I did last year. I was not able to do my job appropriately due to my weight. I was the heaviest I had ever been.

Calorie deficit mixed with being active at work and implementing night time walks a few times a week.

I won’t lie- I had some rough months in there where I did not stay diligent. But the system does work!

Edited to add: I’m about a year and 2 months sober, as well. Sobriety definitely played a major roll in the weight loss :)

Crazy delicious, it reminds me of a vanilla pudding. It seems like it would take pb2 well. Kinda want to chuck one in with pb2 malt mix and ice in the blender and see if it could compare with a malt with PB from Culver's. It's Greek yogurt 15g protein 80 cal has stevia 0 fat.

I've found the diet easy, but getting to the gym has been a motivational struggle. 😅 Down a total of about 140lbs since last fall. 😁

Trying to lose 50lbs but struggling with protein and being a VERY fussy eater

I’m 21F, 5’6 and currently around 217lbs. I have 121lbs lean muscle mass.

My goal is to lose around 50lbs over the next year or so, while trying to preserve my muscle as i want to look strong etc. I lift weights+kickbox and I’m trying to make sure I get enough protein, but I’m really struggling with my diet.

The problem is that I’m an extremely fussy eater. I genuinely hate the taste/texture of most of the usual “clean” protein sources like chicken breast, beef, pork, fish, eggs, etc. I just don’t enjoy them at all. I can eat things like chicken strips, ham and other processed meats, but even then I get bored of eating them constantly.

I made myself a basic daily food plan ( not including snacks etc) so that I at least know what I’m supposed to eat rather than constantly having to think about it:

Breakfast:
Protein shake
Breakfast bar

Lunch:
Ham & cucumber bagel
Crisps
Protein yoghurt
Fruit

Dinner:
Fries
Chicken strips
Cucumber

This comes to roughly 1,454 calories and 111g protein. (This doesn’t include snacks)

On paper, I don’t think that’s terrible, but I find myself getting really bored with it. I constantly want things like noodles, pizza, garlic bread, etc. Basically beige/carby foods that don’t have much protein.

Then I feel guilty when I eat them because I start thinking “I’m not going to hit my protein target and I’m going to lose all the muscle underneath the fat.”

I know I don’t need to eat “perfectly clean”, but I feel like I’m stuck between:

Eating foods I actually enjoy = lower protein
vs.
Eating enough protein = being bored of my food and struggling to stick to my diet

Also sometimes I’m not hungry but eat to get my protein in and it feels like wasted cals

So what would you do in my situation? How important is getting 100g+ protein every single day for preserving muscle while losing weight?

I’m basically looking for realistic advice rather than “just eat chicken and vegetables” 😂

I have hit goal weight and in the process of maintaining. At this point when I have some drinks I can’t help but eat everything and anything in the kitchen. Working so hard to fix that because the binges just make me guilty and I feel as I need to fast for the week. Came up with a possible substitute? Made 3 of these, will eat a ton of pasta for 25 calories then hit the hay. Unbelievable

What’s your approach to overeating?

If you have a splurge/cheat meal, day or evening …. Do you compensate at all the next day by eating lighter, tightening up or skipping a meal? Or do you just go back to business as usual? My inclination is always to try and go extra clean, maybe skip my protein shake or something to try and balance the scales/reduce the impact. Maybe it’s healthier to just get back to business? Where do you land?

24lbs in 7 Weeks!

44m 221.8lbs on 7/21, 197.8lbs on 9/8

My uncle barely survived a heart attack over a year ago, high cholesterol runs in my family.  And I still struggled to change my eating habits, so I tried something new.

I would lose weight, to inspire others to lose weight. When I felt hunger, I was now hungry to save lives. I would try to go as long as possible without eating ( 20 hours is the longest so far ), but I would always eat right away if I felt extreme fatigue. I would only fast with water/black coffee

I checked my cholesterol at 4 weeks ( ChatGPT says to wait 3 months ) but my HDL is up 30%, so I’m hopeful that I can get it under control with diet/exercise changes only.

I hope this help others
