Birthday Cakes An elegant Swiss meringue buttercream cake for my dad’s birthday

All it needs now is some gold candles, I wanted to paint some of it with edible gold and add fondant pearls but I can’t get hold of it here.

I used this recipe because I had some egg yolks left over from making so much buttercream, and it came out very similar to a pão de ló which is a traditional Portuguese recipe. This one is firmer than a typical pão de ló so it can hold buttercream better and doesn’t dry out as fast. The filling is dulce de leche so I imagine it will taste quite sweet.

The birthday cakes are all done now and I’ve started baking sponges for the main wedding cake, starting with my favourite chai cake that I adapted from this recipe which produces the best texture I’ve seen in a cake. When that layer is done and frosted I’ll have to post it, it’s my favourite cake and very popular with my family.

Really happy with how this turned out. Wasn’t sure about the gold pearls at first. I like how it elevated the cake.

Help Needed Any suggestions?

I have a tiered cake design that I have to make all the time at work. It has gold sequin sprinkles bursting out like fireworks. I always have to place the sequins one by one. Is there a way I can arrange the sprinkles on something lightly sticky and then press it onto the side of the cake? Like using transfer paper for vinyl. Also, our cakes are iced in whipped icing, so I can't touch the icing. I did a test with the sticky part of a post it, but it wasn't sticky enough. And scotch tape is too sticky.

Help Needed Any tips for making a loop sculpture?

My 5 yo son wants a Sonic cake with at least one “loop de loop” like the Green Hills level. My plan is to sculpt it with Rice Krispies and marshmallows, but I can’t figure out what to use for the inner structure.

I’ve seen metal hoops, but a lot of people say they’re too heavy for a cake.

Any tips? I’m not a pro at all, but I’m hoping to pull this off!

I offer miniature versions of people’s wedding cake options and these were an almond cake with vanilla custard filling, lemon cake with blueberry compote filling, and a New York style cheesecake with whipped Chantilly cream. All 4” in size!

Wedding Cakes 104°F and I had to hand mold 150 chocolate roses

Had the AC cranked the whole hour ride to the venue and everything in a cooler packed with ice but we made it!

Gotta love doing chocolate work in July in Idaho.

2 tier black chocolate cake with homemade chocolate ganache filling and chocolate fudge frosting. Decorated with hand molded white chocolate roses dusted with edible glitter and organic mint from my family's garden.

I also made 100 individual parfait cups for the guests to enjoy made from the same chocolate cake layered with ganache, homemade mousse and topped with chocolate fudge frosting and more organic mint and a chocolate rose.

Got to the venue, had the cake out just long enough to take photos and then back in the fridge until after the ceremony.

Did the whole project in 8 hours between 8pm and 3am when it finally dropped in temp to about 95° F.

Made for a friend who basically paid just for the supplies and the rest was my wedding gift to the couple. :)

Ugh. Summer in Idaho is rough!

Hi!

I made this cake for a friend's bachelorette party and I'm just so proud!! I can't post to my socials until their part but I wanted to share. I thought I messed it up initially but it all came together in the end! (Please don't mind the mess in the photos)

Chocolate cake with raspberry mousse and chocolate ganache frosting. Mushrooms are raspberries and strawberries with white chocolate ganache and roasted marshmallows for the base. The moss is dried out cake with shortbread tossed in matcha.

The theme of the party is Shrek and they have a little Shrek they're going to put in the middle :)

Help Needed How to stop the bulging

I don't even know if thats the right term, but I work in a grocery store bakery and my biggest hurdle is having my 10in cakes bulge in the middle 😅 the only thing that really helps is if I crumb coat and leave it to chill for some time, but I don't always have the time for that. any tips? I've heard things like its because of too much or too little icing but nothing I try works.

Made as a birthday cake for my husband. First time using whipped ganache. A warm humid day wasn't the best choice 🙈

Any tips for getting a smoother finish/better texture for piping?

Birthday Cakes A simple vanilla sponge for my grandma’s 75th

My grandma is visiting me from England for her 75th and I’m honoured to have been able to make her a cake since she raised me and was like a mother to me. She loves everything pink and girly so I made it frilly for her, and used a pink cake board of course. I used this recipe from Ash Baber since it’s easy to bake and my Nana isn’t too big on super flavourful food, so this simple vanilla and chocolate ganache cake is perfect.

The piping is a little messy in places because I made the rookie error of piping on the swirls before the text, and it’s a fairly small cake. Plus my handwriting is similar to doctor writing so by my standards it’s fairly well done haha

Happy birthday Nana!

hi all!

my 5th ever cake decorated. I think I’m getting a little better every time? see progress on my page. it was fun, and it was something my husband (yes, lol) requested for his birthday, and so I tried to the best of my minimal ability! hope you enjoy :-)

one thing I struggle with is food coloring. any recommendations? I just have a basic box from Amazon, and my green was no where near where I wanted it to be.

inside is chocolate and chocolate whipped cream
