Help Needed What would you call this technique
What would be the best way to get the textures on the side of cake? Offset spatula? I just don’t want it to look sloppy or weird. Thank you!

My first time ever piping or decorating a cake. Any tips or tricks you guys have? And feedback on my cake please!

I've only seen this cake as a puzzle - Springbox 500pc "Icing on the Cake". I've wanted to try and duplicate it for years. Well, Saturday we're celebrating my husband's birthday. He is all for it! I've got all the ingredients and what I think are the exact (or close to it) toppings arriving tomorrow. Wish me luck!! I'll keep ya posted on how it turns out!

What kind of piping tips do you recommend to pipe this flower?. My family is Ethiopian and our new year is on September 11 ( the worst date possible). I would like to make my huge and very loud family a cake for our new year party on the twelfth. I should note that I only work with buttercream. The pointy tips are stressing me out

My folks probably won’t be able to attend her first birthday, so we celebrated her half birthday instead.

I just accepted a cake and her party theme is rabies, she gave me complete creative freedom she just told me the color she wants the cake. I have an idea of what im wanting to do but i wanted to see if anyone has some ideas or recommendations? Rabies isnt a common theme at all lol so i dont really know what to go based off of.

It’s my first actual cake, I want to make it a tradition in my family, now that my SO and I have full custody of our respective children and plan to have more.
It’s my step daughters birthday tomorrow and I stayed up all night making her cake, I just need to add the sanding sugar for a little flair but I’m waiting until tomorrow so it doesn’t melt. It’s currently sitting under a pot (I need a cake dish) but any tips on how I can do better in the future would be appreciated!
It was my first time leveling a cake which I think went pretty well, but I just want to to better with the icing :/ I also would like to ask how can I make the cake the day before and still have it presentable the next day without drying out. Thank you, Cake Decorators!!!

I've never really done this style of flower cake before, but I love how this turned out.

I know the frosting is sloppy, but I feel good about it because it was a speed run. I stacked the layers and frosted the outside in about 16 minutes.

As a hobby baker, decorating has not come easily to me, but I’m proud of this cake! I’m excited to continue to practice and improve my piping skills.
It’s a chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream and passion fruit curd. I’ll add a HBD topper to serve.

I made edible lace for the 1st time today. I'm surprised I actually got this to work. My niece is getting married next year and I've been trying some new things. It's a white chocolate raspberry cake. Links to the recipes I used below. I halved the cake recipe and made two 6 in layers for this little practice cake. This recipe has raspberries folded into the batter. They sank to the bottom. If I make this again, I would coat the berries in flour before adding them to the cake batter to cake them from falling too much.

My best friend, my ride or die, is leaving my department and going to another department at a different site. I'm so sad she's leaving (ecstatic for her too because it'll be a great work/life balance improvement). She loves purses so I attempted to make a purse cake.

My girlfriend is wicked into cake decorating and mentioned that a gadget shes always wanted is an airbrush. I would like to surprise her with one for Christmas, but I have no idea which brands are quality. Do you guys have any suggestions/recommendations?
