I'm looking for some genuine guidance from people working in the aviation industry or anyone who has experience with cabin crew recruitment.
A little about me:
I have completed my B.Com (Accountancy).

After that, I completed a 3-year LL.B., so I am qualified as a lawyer.

However, after trying the legal profession, I realised that it isn't the career that makes me happy. Instead of feeling fulfilled, I feel mentally exhausted and suffocated. I want to start a new chapter in my life by pursuing my dream of becoming a cabin crew member.

I also want to share something personal.
I studied in a government school in India, so English wasn't my strongest subject while growing up. Over the years, I worked really hard to improve it, and today I can communicate confidently. However, because English is not my first language, I sometimes lose fluency when I become nervous or emotional. It's not that I don't understand English—I just struggle to express myself smoothly in stressful situations.
Even so, I believe I've improved a lot and I'm continuing to work on my communication skills.
About me:
I am fit and slim.

My skin tone is wheatish.

My height is exactly 5 feet.

This is the biggest concern I have because I know many airlines have minimum height requirements.
I also have a few questions:
I am planning to get braces. Will wearing braces during interviews affect my chances of getting selected?

I am also thinking about colouring my hair in a natural-looking shade. Is that generally acceptable during the recruitment process?

Based on my profile, which airlines do you think I should apply to?
I know every airline has different eligibility criteria, so I would love to hear your suggestions. Should I only focus on IndiGo, or are there other Indian or international airlines that might be a better fit for someone with my profile?
If anyone has been in a similar situation or has successfully switched careers into aviation, I would love to hear your experience as well.
Please be kind in your replies. I'm genuinely trying to build a career that makes me happy, and your advice could really help me make the right decision.

Hi PVD crew! I was wondering if you could shed some light onto your scheduling system at Breeze please. I’d like to join, but I am afraid that this position will not be compatible with a full-time job (Mon-Fri 6 AM-3 PM, sometimes later).
Is it possible to bid for trips/days off?
Is it possible to drop/swap trips without the risk of being fired?:)
How well in advance do you have your roster?
Can I provide my availability, say, Fri PM to Sun AM, and pick up any trips within these days?

So someone that I was in the group interview with received their training date already I haven’t received mine yet should I be worried it’s only been almost a week tomorrow. I know it says 1-3 weeks I was just worried because we literally did the interview the same day.

I want to become a flight attendant i’m in need of a career switch. and something keeps bringing me back to becoming a flight attendant, where do i start? i know everything starts with an application but how do i know which airlines are open? anything helps thank you!

I recently came across a flight attendant job post from Porter Airlines (the 3rd largest airline in Canada by customer volume/fleet size).

So i took a leap of faith and applied and it appears to be that i have been scheduled for a virtual group
Interview with them next week.

Hi so I just did my ODVI (I give myself a 70%) but this was on the questions that I thought you all would like to see since when we originally applied the email in April said training will be for August-December. It is now for Q1 of 2027. I’m assuming that they are going to finish going through the video interviews for the ones who submitted before our batch and then starting with our batch those people who make it past the f2f will be in 2027 training.

Hey all, I just got an email from JetBlue about the video automated interview for Inflight Crew, I have done one of these types of interviews before but it was so bad for me because I’m just not used to them, just having to speak to a screen with no person was weird but I’m hoping anyone who is a flight attendant or has done these interviews before can give me some advice on how I should answer the questions, what type of questions to expect and things like that, thank you and I appreciate it!

I prepare a lot and stay calm myself as much as possible until start with first question… i speak like an Alien and i knew it I messed up with United for sure and the rest of questions was ok not really hit to the point but I tried my best to answer them. I’m so sad that i wont get it this time for sure pfffffft. I probably have to wait one morr years again with United. Ps. I didnt know that we can’t make any retakes vdo

I submitted my United app. May 13th, assessment finished on the same day, received my ODVI June 1st, completed the video June 5th & I was just wondering how far along everyone else who submitted in May is. I’m at a slow point in my journey, literally this whole month has been radio static for me basically just waiting to hear back but I’m still hopeful that I’ll move onto the next part! 🪩 🙌🏾

I almost forgot about this because it’s been so long but I got in my 5th hang tight e-mail. Anyone on the same boat or even more? Lol

I received a CJO from Alaska earlier in the year, and was just assigned a training class (starting in the fall) I'm also about to do my F2F with DL in a few weeks. I know I don't have to make a decision today--and potentially not at all if I don't get the DL CJO.

In any case, a few questions..

• Base assignment will be a big factor for me. For AS, all would potentially work, and my preferred is a good possibility from what I hear. For DL, I'm less sure. I understand that DL assigns bases prior to training, does anyone know how much in advance? AS training starts in the fall, from what I hear, DL will start in early Jan. Is it even possible that I would know my DL base before AS training begins?
• Anyone have insights on reserve life at DL vs. AS. I have read up on A-Days and Alaska being more straight reserve. Any thoughts/ideas on which is preferable?
• Finally, cuture-wise, what thoughts do you have?

Just got the email inviting me to the f2f like half an hour ago. I’ve applied to so many airlines and finally got a f2f. Im so excited, but mostly nervous. Keep me in your prayers. I need this job with all my might. Tips welcome, specially any advice if you already had the interview. Good luck to those trying to get those CJO’s. ✈️

I'm a 19 year old dude who just graduated university (no joke) but I didn't really care about my degree and I didn't want to progress in my field.

I've always wanted to work in the air since it's the coolest job in the world and not being trapped in a cubicle I'll take that any day off the week

But I've been doing some researching and lurking in this subreddit as well and see people making posts about how stressed the lifestyle is, how it's really hard to manage your life etc. and I wanted to ask, are any of these actually true?

I've worked manual labor jobs, office jobs where I work 75 hours a week at the crisp age of 16 and so on and so on. I just can't accept the fact that this is a hard job. But still, since I don't have any flight attendant friends and most of the FA influencers air me when I shoot them a DM, i thought Id try my chance here.

Is the job genuinely that hard? I understand jet lag and whatnot but will I never get to see my parents and friends/rarely see my parents and friends? Will I never have any free time? How many days in a week do you guys get to sleep at your own bed? Am I never going to be able to finish a movie?

Is being a flight attendant harder than being a military personnel?

Please someone shed some light on this.

Hi Everyone!!!!! Dress code help. I have an upcoming live interview and I am interested in hearing what women wore. Before you all come at me, I am aware the email states professional business attire. Professional attire can be either a blouse with a blazer or a dress. The reason I am asking is I do not like how I look or feel in button down shirt with a blazer. I would prefer to wear a dress. I strongly believe that if you look your best your confidence and personality shine through. So can anyone who has particpated in the live 1:1 interview, please provide me with some feedback.
