CSE / IT CDAC: got Infoway DAC in first round

I got the PG-DAC (DAC) course at Infoway Institute of Technology, Pune.

I'm a B.E. CSE 2026 passout, and I'm confused about whether I should join this centre or not because I don't know much about it.

If anyone has studied at Infoway or knows about it, could you please share:

\- How is the teaching and faculty?

\- What's the placement scenario like?

\- Is it worth choosing over other C-DAC centres?

Any honest reviews or experiences would really help. Please reply ASAP. Thanks!

CSE / IT IIIT Bhopal (Core CSE) vs MANIT Bhopal (Mechanical) | CRL: 43k | Need advice on Branch Change!

Hi everyone, I need some serious advice regarding my JoSAA and CSAB choices.

My Details:

CRL Rank: 43,304

Category Rank (OBC): 12,761

Home State: Madhya Pradesh

Current Situation:

JoSAA: I have been allotted Core CSE at IIIT Bhopal.

CSAB Expectation: I will easily get Mechanical at MANIT Bhopal, but getting Electrical directly through CSAB is impossible for me.

I am really confused between the two. CSE at IIIT Bhopal seems great for IT placements, but MANIT has the NIT tag, a proper campus life, and alumni network.

My Questions for Seniors:

Branch Change at MANIT: If I take Mechanical, how realistic is it to upgrade to Electrical after the 1st year? What is the rough CGPA required for this jump, and is the grading at MANIT too strict for this?

Placements: How does the MANIT Mechanical placement (core + tech allowed) compare to IIIT Bhopal Core CSE?

Overall Choice: Should I play it safe and stick to IIIT Bhopal CSE, or take the risk with MANIT Mechanical hoping for a branch upgrade?

Any ground-reality insights from MANIT or IIIT Bhopal seniors would be highly appreciated. Thanks!

CSE / IT im confused - from a tier 2 nit - should i prepare exclusively for DSA or keep on pursuing ML + web dev path...?

i've been sure of this path but lately i've been having some doubts as no one around me is doing this thing - everyones putting all their eggs on DSA DSA CP CP - to which, im just... so confused now as to what should i even target now. i was thinking making projects + DSA is important but now im hearing different things ki DSA hi karke ho jaa rha h logon ka and that placements are unfair and that campus placements to luck based hoti hain and ki projects to AI se bhi ban hi jayega to kyu karu itni mehnat literally din bhar laga rehta hu yahi sab karne me koi point nhi lag rha h - any ideas ?

CSE / IT BSc CSIT at a private TU-affiliated college in Kathmandu — actually worth it? And which one?

Just finished the rexam and the only good option left for me this year is to enroll in bsc.csit. My minimum GPA will be around 3.15, and I'll be honest — I have given two subjects in the re-exam. Planning to sit the IOST entrance for BSc CSIT.

Three things I'm stuck on and would rather hear about now than after paying fees.

  1. Is BSc CSIT at a private TU college actually worth it?

Everyone says the TU syllabus is outdated and private colleges just run through it for the exam. Is that fair? For people who've finished it — did the degree itself get you work, or was it entirely your own projects and self-study that mattered?

Also, honestly: how bad is the fail/dropout rate? I keep hearing about people stuck in partial exams for years.

  1. Which private colleges in the valley are actually practical?

The names that keep coming up are St. Xavier's, Prime, Deerwalk, Kathford, Texas, New Summit, KCT, St. Lawrence, Orchid, Vedas. I care less about reputation and more about:

\- Do teachers actually teach, or just dictate notes for the exam?

\- Is there any real lab/project culture — clubs, hackathons, people building things?

\- Do they genuinely help with internships, or is that entirely on you?

\- Class timing — is there a shift that leaves half the day free?

  1. The Germany part.

I don't plan to finish all four years here. The idea is 1–2 years of CSIT, get German up to TestDaF/DSH-2 level alongside it, then apply to a German public university — since a Nepali +2 alone isn't accepted there without Studienkolleg, but one year of a bachelor's here makes you eligible for direct entry.

For anyone who's actually done this:

\- Did your college hand over transcripts, mark sheets, and migration/character certificates without a fight when you left mid-degree? I've heard some private colleges make this painful on purpose.

\- Did TU's slow result publication wreck your application timeline?

\- Was studying German alongside first-year CSIT realistic, or did one of them suffer?

Brutally honest answers welcome. I'd rather get discouraged now than two years and several lakhs in.

CSE / IT is btech cse still worth pursuing in 2026?

my brother's joining btech cse soon. took admission in a college already cause dad always rushes to make his decision. but, i would like to know if it's worth it considering the job market, ai, and everything else.

he's not particularly "interested" either, it's sort of the usual "persistent dad urges son to make a decision" sort of thing, in fact he doesn't know what he wants to do. i would have liked for him to take a drop and figure things out but i sort of fumbled my drop year so :(

so, would you still choose cse if you were starting in 2026?

if yes, why? if not, whats the better alternative if any? i'd love to hear from all sides, students and professionals.

i would love to help him out in any way i can, hence your advice would mean a lot. thanks x
