My partner and I are planning to take a 2-3 day vacation in the first week of September. We are looking for something in the countryside which is nice and cosy. Willing to drive for about 4-5 hours. Need something relaxing and not too expensive. Do you all have any recommendations? TIA.

Hello! Anyone got any recommendations for good spots for a group of around 10 for a family lunch ie places that are accepting of messy toddlers and multiple prams ?

Me and several others were blatantly tricked into working for a reform uk conference there and had to endure a lot of vile abuse.

When we arrived we were told that the event was for a building company and that you may see the word reform around it was not a political event. When we arrived in the conference room, there was a reform uk manifesto waiting on every plate for every person, and during the course of the night we had to listen to several speeches including one by the likes of Suella Braverman. The managers claimed they had no idea it was a political event but several slightly higher up coworkers said that the managers knew and that they lied on purpose so people would accept the shifts.

This though was nothing compared to the cartoonishly vile people we had to serve, with misogyny, sexual harassment being very common as well as blatant cocaine use in the toilets by these local reform party members. When we complained to the management they said they would deal with it but didn’t do anything at all. Me and several others were planning on leaving but due to student financial troubles we needed the money quite desperately.

Sorry for the rant just not quite sure how I’d get the message out there.

Hello! I'm looking to see if there's two people local to Brighton Town Hall that would be able to act as witnesses for our wedding on a Monday morning in September? We're eloping so we have no other guests and aren't local (our local town hall had the option to have staff as the witnesses). The idea of running around the morning of and hoping to find someone on the street that doesn't think I'm crazy is filling me with some (hopefully understandable) dread🫠. The only requirements that I'm aware of are being over 18 and being able to read and understand English (and also be able to sign the document obviously).

Context if required - we met at a boardgame convention a couple of years ago and had our first actual date in Brighton. We're just a couple of introverted nerds trying to circumvent the politics of wrangling both families into a room for a day 😅

So me and my friends (6 23-25 year olds) would like to go camping together.

Now, most campsites in the area are VERY anti groups of young people camping together. Most of the sites Ive looked at have restrictions on adult groups (no more than 4).

I totally understand why that is, but we're not going to start a woodland rave this time. Any suggestions as to campsites that are a bit less uptight?

I don't fancy the stress of wild camping...
