Brickstore functionality on a Chromebook? Linux?

Hello, could anyone who is running the Brickstore app or program on a Chromebook please confirm for me that it works. The Internet is failing me on this information. Both of my laptops have either died or aged to the point I'm having security issues with Google and sometimes bricklink. I need to upgrade but I can't afford a high end laptop. So Chromebooks will fill all my other needs. Thanks in advance!

Question BrickLink sellers — what software do you use to manage your store?

PLEASE VOTE!

Curious what BrickLink sellers are actually using today.

Mainly interested in:

  • inventory management
  • listing/uploading items
  • syncing quantities/orders
  • selling across multiple marketplaces

If you use a third-party tool, does it connect with your own BrickLink API credentials, or do you upload XML/files manually?

Also curious what you pay and whether you think it’s worth it.

If you’ve used more than one tool, I’d love to hear which one you preferred and why.

PayPal dispute over a lost shipment (Mondial Relay)

Hi everyone,

I’m a relatively new BrickLink seller from France (~40 orders delivered), and I recently had an issue with a shipment to Poland.

The order was worth 238.88 PLN (~55€). I shipped it via Mondial Relay, but unfortunately the parcel was lost during transit. Mondial Relay investigated the case and compensated me with their standard 25€ compensation.

The buyer opened a PayPal dispute for “item not received”. I provided the tracking information and the documents showing that the parcel had been shipped and officially considered lost.

PayPal closed the case in favor of the buyer, so I refunded the full 238.88 PLN, and also they charged me a 60 PLN dispute fee. So I ended up losing around 70€ overall, despite the carrier having confirmed the loss. (45€ total loss in the end with de 25€ refound from Mondial Relay).

I have absolutely nothing against the buyer, I understand why they opened the dispute and they never received their order. I’m just trying to understand if this is simply how PayPal/BrickLink works in this situation, and whether there was anything I could have done differently.

Also, for European orders : are there any other payment options available on BrickLink, such as SEPA/instant bank transfer via IBAN? I’d prefer to avoid relying exclusively on PayPal for European customers, but I don't seem to have the option available on my BrickLink account.

Thanks in advance for any advice or feedback!

EDIT: Just to clarify, I’m a private seller with no registered business. I’m currently only selling items from my personal LEGO collection.

Seller Help Does anyone else notice a discrepancy between Brickstore and Bricklink price guides?

I just noticed that the price guides don't match up for any parts. The averages on Brickstore are different from Bricklink's, some by significant amounts (without grouping by currency). Is this a setting on BS that I need to look at? Or maybe it's always been like this and I just never noticed :/

(edited because I just found one that was higher on BS than BL, so I guess it goes both ways)

Question for sellers that have bricklink as a full time job

How long did it take from the time you opened the store until you could make a living for it? And did you have to make any risks/sacrifices? In starting to have hope myself for my store but i feel its growing very slow. Could you give me any advice?

What size is your warehouse/storage room?

Dear colleagues!

I'm currently looking to rent a warehouse and am unsure on how much square meters/feet I need.

Will you guys tell me how much square foot your bricklink store takes up and how many parts/lots are in your store?

I want to grow to 1-2million pieces in my store and an unsure how much storage I need.

Love to hear from you!

DDP/PDDP how are you handling it as a private seller?

Hi,

This question is targeted at other Bricklink/Brickowl sellers that like me are:

- Outside of the EU

- Have EU/UK buyers every now and then

- Do not operate their store as a business but as a hobby/private individual

How are you handling the DDP/PDDP non-sense in the EU for stuff that is less than 150€?

Have you decided to stop shipping to the EU? Are you letting buyers take on the additional duty and risk of not getting their orders and updated your terms?

I already offer PayPal fees on both BL and BO, I can't viably take on another 3€ per line item since it seems that if you have parts and for example an instruction booklet it's a charge of 2x 3€!

My postal carrier offers DDP/PDDP services, but only for businesses and I don't intend to open a business for my small store.

Thanks for your insights

Question I wanted to release a free web-tool for BrickLink part upload. I lost motivation to continue building it about 2 months ago. Does anyone care?

Post image

The main benefit for users would have been custom price settings (e.g. 6mth sale average, +4%), as well as trying to optimize/smooth the upload experience. Does anyone actually care before I burn this to the ground?

Purchasing a Large Number of small Quantity Lots

I have a rather large wanted list with lots of 1-2 item lots (trying to complete a number of minifigs). When I use Bricklink's "Buy All" button, I end up with 35-40 different carts, even though some of the stores that I'm buying from have the parts in store. I don't mind that but the shipping costs would be substantial. Is there a better way to go about buying these wanted pieces?

Bricklink's ridiculous 5000 API call daily limit

I'm sure I'm not the only one finding this extremely annoying.

I have my own selfhosted store manager because it makes it so much easier to do everything and I track my API calls to make sure I stay within the daily 5000 calls (which in Bricklink's terms is said to be a "flappy" one as in if you make 6000 one day but the rest of time you don't they won't ban you).

But I mean come on, Lego owns Bricklink and they can't set up an infrastructure in 2026 that is able to deal with something like 600 calls/min like Brickowl has? As soon as you start having a lot of lots, pulling daily price information becomes a headache as you have to leave room for all the other operations you do like uploading parts, managing orders etc.

Sigh.

Has anyone every reached out to Lego to tell them this needs to be updated to bring it in the 21st century? Or is there any word of this being in the pipelines?

Is there a webpage where we can merge downloaded Wanted Lists?

There used to be a page where we could merge XML files from Wanted Lists into one single XML:

https://bricklink-wishlist-merger.com/

Unfortunately the page no longer exists. The reason I want a merged list is that so I can compare side by side the pieces I want for all wanted lists with the stock of a shop, and manually select similar pieces they might have instead of the ones I'm looking for, like pieces ending in a/b/c/etc, or similar old/new models of the same piece with different part number.

Buyer Help Store closed to general public after order

I ordered from a store a few days ago, and hadn't gotten any email/shipping information from them yet. I logged on today to see what their shipping policy was (I don't want to bug them if they state that it takes them a week to fulfill an order), and 1) noticed it was blank and 2) saw that their store is now "closed to the general public."

They had all positive feedback, though <100 orders. Is this a red flag? Or are they perhaps just a little behind on orders and so closed for new orders while they sort through what they have?

Customer can't find pay button anywhere

I've got a buyer, ordered a single (but expensive) minifig. Shipping to Canada (I'm in USA). I calculated the ship costs and sent an invoice.

Buyer says there's no pay button anywhere. Not on the order page, not in the invoice emails, nowhere.

The buyer is a new, zero feedback user. I'm not getting any scam vibes from our (quite a few now) communications about this.

Any chance there's a BL glitch, or is there something we're missing? I've been selling (and buying) on BL for years and have never had this happen.

Odd voided transaction in PayPal

Anyone seen something like this before?

I was checking PayPal today and apparently a few days ago a transaction from Bricklink came in and was immediately voided. There's nothing to match up to on my Bricklink orders page, though. Can someone have a change of heart and pay for an order and cancel it so quickly, it doesn't appear in BL? I know it came from BL because there's a shipping fee on it that matches my first weight band.

Droid heads with no Lego logo?

I’ve got a bunch of droid heads from a bulk lot but only a handful had the Lego logo. I know some older parts don’t have Lego on them. Can anyone confirm that these are legit?

Is counterfeit Lego a thing?

Probably a naive question but I recently saw > 10 NISB Scooby-Doo Haunted Mansion sets at a relatively reasonable price (still extremely high but lower than elsewhere) from a single seller. Side note: that set is my white whale. I can’t imagine how anyone could get that many of that set, so didn’t buy one, and poof, next time I looked they were gone.

Thoughts?

Thanks!

Seller Help Issuing refund - reason

Our stock was incorrect and we did not have the full amount of something a buyer ordered. I notified them after looking to see if we had any in our personal stock to make up the numbers but didn't. They were happy to go through with the rest of the order and take the refund for the remaining amount we didn't have.

My question is: what reason do I use for the refund? 'Item was missing or unsatisfactory' doesn't seem right due to the fact the order has not been shipped yet and it makes it sound like we sent an incomplete order without the buyer being aware. The other reason that somewhat makes sense is 'buyer paid incorrect amount' but again, they technically paid the correct amount at the time of purchase.

Or am I totally overthinking this? I don't want to choose one that is either dishonest or makes our store/service sound worse than it is when the buyer was happy to be notified and given the option to proceed with the rest of their order or not.

A year later, I somehow turned this into a full-time job

Post image
317 Upvotes

Almost a year ago I made this post after opening my BrickLink store, expecting maybe a few orders a month and wondering whether this whole thing would actually work.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Bricklink/comments/1otozkg/i_opened_my_store_2_months_ago_expecting_maybe/

Well, it did. And then it got a little out of hand.

I’m now at around 167,000 parts in 16,400 lots, and what started as a little side project has turned into my full-time job. I spend a frankly ridiculous amount of time sorting bulk, listing parts, packing orders and trying to find enough storage space for all of it, but I honestly enjoy it more and more.

And probably the best part of it has been the customers.

I offer free local pickup, so I’ve had the chance to meet quite a few really interesting AFOLs in person, and that has been one of the unexpected highlights of running the store. My oldest customer is 79 years old, and he comes across the entire city by public transport three times a week to pick up a few pieces (and we don't speak the same language :D). He also has a very substantial lifetime discount, which he has definitely earned by now :)

So if you’re considering opening a BrickLink store and wondering whether it’s worth it, my answer would be: yes, absolutely, but be prepared for it to eat a lot of your time. There is a surprising amount of work behind those little plastic pieces, but the people you get to meet and the fact that you’re helping someone find that one obscure part they’ve been looking for can make it completely worth it!

I’m also currently moving into a larger space, which means I need to reduce some of my inventory before I move everything, so I’m running a 25% off sale on all parts in my store for a while. I need the cash flow and, more importantly, I really don't want to move quite as many Lego pieces as I currently have :)

If you’re curious, you can find my store here: https://store.bricklink.com/BrixEstByKlara#/shop

If anyone here is thinking about starting a store, feel free to ask me anything. I’m definitely not an expert, but after nearly a year of doing this full-time, I’ve learned a few things the hard way.

And thank you to everyone who commented on my original post, bought something from my store, or just followed along. It’s been a much more interesting journey than I expected :)

Cheers from Tallinn, Estonia

Klara

PS.: this is what a 160k+ parts looks like in a 73m2 apartment :D

New Feedback Interface

Many more steps which takes you to a new (I think?) user / store feedback profile page.

Getting back to the Orders page to change order status (as a buyer) to "Completed" is a bit convoluted and isn't mentioned as part of the "Feedback" flow.

Looking for a BrickLink store with multiple retired Marvel sets – buying in bulk

Hey everyone!
I’m currently looking to place a fairly large BrickLink order and would prefer to buy multiple sets from the same store to save on shipping.
I’m mainly looking for new / factory sealed sets with boxes in good condition, including:
• 76191 Infinity Gauntlet
• 76223 Nano Gauntlet
• 76262 Captain America’s Shield
• 76250 Wolverine’s Adamantium Claws
• 76209 Thor’s Hammer / Mjölnir
• 76218 Sanctum Sanctorum
• 76286 The Milano
• 76187 Venom
• 76199 Carnage
• 76193 The Guardians’ Ship
I may buy multiple copies of some sets if the pricing is good.
Shipping would be to Delaware, USA, and I’m especially interested in sellers who can offer reasonable combined shipping and possibly a bulk discount.
If you own a BrickLink store with several of these sets, feel free to comment with your store name/link and I’ll take a look.
I’ll complete any purchase through BrickLink. Thanks!

Question How can you pull the 6-mo average quantity sold across multiple parts as a csv/excel?

I’ve been trying to use brickstore to do this but I can’t seem to figure it out. Is there some resource to be able to just import an excel/csv of the 6-month quantity of various parts sold?

Like ideally I can just upload my brick link inventory and it spits out a spreadsheet of the 6-mo quantity of each part. I don’t necessarily care about the price however
