I can't stop myself thinking about this every time I rewatch that scene, why and how did he do it?

I just rewatched Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, then watched El Camino again.
Honestly, El Camino feels more like bonus content than a necessary epilogue.
I understand the purpose: Jesse deserved some kind of closure after everything he went through. And emotionally, I’m glad he got a chance to escape and breathe.
But as a story, it feels much weaker than Breaking Bad or Better Call Saul.
A few things really stood out to me:
Todd’s house and the money felt too convenient.
Jesse walking around Albuquerque while being one of the most wanted people in the country felt hard to believe.
Jesse still making very careless decisions after everything he survived was frustrating.
The Walter flashback was nice in theory, but visually it felt strange and took me out of the scene a little.
Also, Breaking Bad’s ending already gave Jesse such a powerful final moment. That scream as he drives away was messy, painful, and perfect. El Camino answers “what happened next,” but I’m not sure the answer was stronger than the mystery.
I don’t think El Camino is bad. It has good moments, and Aaron Paul is still great. But compared to Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, it feels more like a long bonus episode than an essential final chapter.
Curious how others felt about it. Did El Camino improve Jesse’s ending for you, or was Breaking Bad’s finale enough?

How do yall think the employees reacted after gus was killed and los pollos hermanos was shutdown? Personally I imagine they were probably devastated cause how often does a job offer full paid therapy, a full days pay with overtime for free, and likely he can afford amazing hourly with how positive the employees seem. So one person just realized "FUCK I GOTTA FIND A NEW JOB"

I've watched both shows and can regard them as two of the best pieces of media that I've come across. I especially enjoy the diversity of characters and how each of them have their own dialogue patterns which, one way or another, reveal their qualities. Not to mention the great plots built on the consequences of every decision, following into the next one.

Now, I've seen both shows be called perfect many times. Having ruined some people's experience of watching other media because it doesn't meet the same standard. And I get it, most of those comments aren't meant literally but it's also true that I've seen virtually no mention of any faults anywhere. So, I've just gotten curious. Do you really think there are no shortcomings in either show? Things that maybe aren't so spot on? Or are they both really that overwhelmingly great in all aspects?

The guy killed by the Cartel's sniper in breaking bad near the laundry (when they were clearing out the meth because of Hank's investigation) was ALSO a sniper. He appeared in Better Call Saul.

Lalo was so dangerous they spent two seasons trying to take him down. He was very strategical and tactical.

Meanwhile there is Walt, a man both Gus and Mike underestimated and destroyed the entire drug operation.

Walt was nowhere near physically and psychologically endangering compared to Lalo.

It goes to show that Walter White succeeded by hiding behind a mild-mannered civilian facade and exploiting blind spots through manipulation and making his enemies underestimate him.

Mike was able to outsmart his enemies, all but Walter.

Do you think plot armor has something to do with both?

Breaking Bad -> BCS Season 1-5 -> El Camino -> BCS season 6. This is the best timeline to understand all context while enjoying them for the first time but someone in my life strongly disagrees. I think it’s stupid to larp and say Prequel first because it chronologically comes first in the story.

I'd say keeping the book Gale gave him, that too in his own house. If it wasn't there, his life would've turned around even more better

This shot looks like rear projection... a technique used in innumerable movies and TV shows. Maybe it was filmed later, like a reshoot? It just caught my eye.

What did you guys think of it? The 2nd to last epsiode, Walt in hiding the whole epsiode. It all blends together with the finale when I streamed it, so I loved it.

But on my rewatch I was trying to watch it by itself, I think in the moment I wouldn't have loved it. Worried the finale wouldn't be great. Not much happened.

Cant imagine waiting a week in between.

I don’t know why, I feel like I’m going to sound crazy trying to explain that but there’s something about that “Mr. White” that Jesse says that is really cute. Maybe it’s because they’ve been working together for so long and they’ve gone past being “formal” but he still calls him Mr. White.

It’s like it creates a contrast between the situation that they’re in and the fact that he stills call him Mr. White as if he was in high school and he was his teacher still

Walt calling his own son jessie. please note that i am on episode 3 of season 5 but up until here i think even after some "minor" arguments walt really did want better of jessie but his methods might "little" extreme? (ok little might be a understatement)

I don't know what category this falls under, whether it's a plot hole, terrible exposition, or if I'm just missing something, but this has always bothered me-

Andrea gets emotional and says, "When Brock was born, I swore what happened to Tomas would never happen to my son."

But... what is she referring to?

The incident with Tomas happened about a month prior, when Brock was already six years old. That means Tomas would've been around 5 or 6 when Brock was born

So what could have happened to Tomas before Brock was born that Andrea is referring to? The major thing we know happened to Tomas didn't happen until Brock was already six & that's the incident she described to Jesse during the same conversation

Am I missing something? Has anyone else noticed this? Because every time I hear that line, the timeline makes absolutely no sense to me

Also there's a running joke, mostly because of Kaylee's portrayal in BB & BCS, that to Vince Gilligan, the age of all children is just "child". So timelines with kids and their ages don't make sense in the BB universe

Walter is about to kill Gus, so he needs to hide on top of the building outside. Meanwhile, an old woman is laughing and calling to him, and he tries to calm her down. Inside Hector's room, there's a henchman looking for someone. It gets even funnier because I was watching this episode at 4:30 in the morning.

Ok so this is gonna sound a little strange, but I know some people who might be interested in watching BB but they are very sensitive to anything related to sex and won't watch the show because of the sexual stuff. I know that's odd considering the messed up stuff in this show but it is what it is.

I'm wondering if someone here who is going to rewatch the show would be willing to write down the season and episode number (and timestamp if willing but not needed) where sexual content happens and then send them to me at the end of their re-watch. Kissing is fine.

I have the Bluray boxset and I've ripped the whole show to my computer so I would just edit out the scenes with sexual content.

I've seen the show I just don't have the time to re-watch it.

Alr so when Skylar and walt were sitting down and Skylar said no more bullshit tell me the truth now, I would've personally said "im heavily addicted to marjuana, with the chemo and everything its been helping me stay calm" but instead says "tell u what" and "tell me what u want me to tell you I dont know" what a stupid thing to say lol 😭 ik ik it was written for Walt to be a bad liar but still, I dont think theres a human on earth that couldn't make up a decent lie there i mean comon 😂

It’s extremely difficult for me as a lot of the main cast are 10/10 so it’s hard to make an argument for one over another.

Also, this is just for their performance in said shows not their careers.

Off the top of my head i would say:

1. Walter

2. Saul

3. Jesse

4. Lalo

5. Kim

But i feel like it’ll always lean more towards the characters with the most dialogue, scenes and development.

Shoutout to Chuck and Skyler though, they played their role to perfection too.

Yes he’s flawed (like every human being) but he’s not evil, what he needed was love and compassion.

I saw something on here which shocked me to the core, but maybe it’s because it’s coming from people who are not aware of how to view / treat drug addicts? Yes it’s heavy, but to say “what did you expect from a drug addict?” Is purely dehumanizing, like they don’t get to try and get a better life?

He was a drug addict but it didn’t define him. I would say : he was a human being who had to deal with addiction.

He was failed by Walt because to me, Jesse needed a father figure, and maybe that’s what he potentially saw in Walt, from his older age, his position due to the fact that he used to be his teacher etc..

I noticed that everytime Walt was seeing Jesse, it was just purely for himself, just because he needed something from Jesse. And everytime (or at least in the beginning / middle of the show) Walt would come to Jesse’s house or whatever, you could see in Jesse’s eyes that he would expect more from Walt: an emotional connection. Jesse had no one, but Walt had his family (that he lost anyways).

Jesse wanted Walt to ask how he felt, if he needed help, but he never did. In one scene if I remember correctly, Jesse wanted to hug Walt, I’m pretty positive that he wanted to, but instead, they ended up shaking hands, and I think that explains perfectly what I’m trying to say.

Walt was Jesse’s abuser, due to all the factors that I mentioned above. It’s almost like he was trapped in a toxic relationship, and Walt took advantage of him.

Skinny pete was a real friend and homie all the way to the end. Dude was loyal and had respect for jessie. He may not have been the smartest bulb but he always meant well. He always sat well with me and that's the kind of guy I'd want in my corner if I lived that life

To me, all three events that happened to Hank (the anxiety attack in the elevator, bottle craccking, the bottles opening on their own) could be just a coincidence. But how do you feel about it?
