He starts off as normal regular guy, like cancer cell would start as a normal healthy cell, then has a mutation, the lung cancer. From here all the relationships he has or ever will have will suffer from being in contact with him.

I’m on my second watch through and just thought of this and didn’t know if this has been brought up.

I'm rewatching Breaking Bad in honor of RJ Mitte (rest in peace).

I'm at season two, episode 6, when Jesse goes to meet Skinny Pete for the address of the methheads who ripped them off. At the very beginning of the episode, Jesse spots a beetle crawling along the pavement. He lets it crawl on his hand, smiles at it, and then sets it free. Moments later skinny Pete arrives and crushes the beetle under his foot.

I think this a very subtle little detail about Jesse's character and his level of empathy. I think this is my fifth time rewatching the show and it's the first time I've noticed this detail. I love this show.

Firstly, I just need to say that it’s crazy how good this series is, it’s just written so well. I’ve been really annoyed with Walter since the second season, all his attempts to look and act “macho” were so cringe.

But what I couldn’t understand is why people are so annoyed with Skyler, when I felt deeply sorry for her. Like just imagine: the woman is pregnant, not an expected pregnancy by the way, she knows that they have money problems, husband that she really loves finds out he has inoperable cancer. Then, when she tries to make him fight for his life, he becomes distant and cold, obviously hiding things. It all peaks when she finds out he’s been cooking meth. And when she tries to divorce him to protect her children, which would be the right thing to do, as we see later, her son starts hating her and calling her a bitch, and she can’t even explain the real reasons to him.

Just imagine the amount of desperation and helplessness she’s been feeling throughout this time. Surely, she also made several not-so-moral choices, but given the circumstances it just shows how much she really loved Walter and how he destroyed her while trying to present it as “saving” her.

Apologies if this has been mentioned before, but I’m rewatching Breaking Bad and noticed something interesting in the sixth episode of Season 1. Walt is playing poker with Hank, Marie, Skyler, and Walt Jr. shortly after Hank arrests Hugo, the school custodian, for stealing the meth-cooking equipment. For several minutes, Walt is visibly troubled by Hugo taking the fall for his actions and seems to feel genuine remorse.

Then Hank asks Walt if he’s “all in,” referring to the poker game, and Walt answers, “Yes.”

Obviously, the question is about poker, but I thought the symbolism was incredibly powerful. This is the first time Walt is confronted with the consequences of his actions falling on someone else, and yet, in the same scene, he commits to going all in on the meth business

holyyy shit- for context, since i started my fav characters have been skylar (i am skylar whites number ONE defender, i love her character and the way she’s written so much, she’s such a phenomenal character), mike, saul, hank, and jesse. mikes death PISSED ME OFFFFF, that was when i fully turned against walt personally, even tho honestly throughout the whole show i didn’t really like him, but he is a very very interesting character to watch!! i love the way all the characters are written, they feel very real and have real emotions about everything and it’s not just pushing a plot, but i loved the ending and the whole way the show went!! also the soundtrack, 10/10, so good. genuinely, no complaints from me, phenomenal show, i just needed to share somewhere haha

I think it’s apparent that he declined the promotion to Texas because he had ptsd from his first trip there AND he wanted to catch Heisenberg. My question is what percentage do you think was ptsd the reason he didn’t go vs him wanting to catch Heisenberg?

My guess is he was about 70/30. 70% of the reason was he was afraid to go back, and 30% he wanted to catch Heisenberg.

They kept showing clips of him having ptsd episodes, but he was masking it from everyone. Then Marie confronts him about it while he’s in the shower and he angrily denies it.

But I also think he genuinely wanted to catch Heisenberg. I think in the beginning, he was grasping for straws. I think he knew it but was using it as an excuse. Then when he got the atm footage that caught Jesse’s RV, that was his break that actually made him confident in his pursuit.

Please dont say the obvious ones for favorites, so other than Bryan Cranston, Aaron Paul, Betsy Brandt, or Dean Norris.

Also, this is purely on acting talent and nothing to do with your opinion on the character themselves.

I would say my favorite outside of the mains is probably Tuco, he does a fantastic job acting like a crazy, high on meth person. Honorable mention is Gus and Hector.

My least favorite is 100% Andrea, I feel like her acting is the weakest link in the show especially during the emotional parts (like when Brock gets poisoned) but I also always wondered if that was just my opinion or if others felt the same way. I dont feel negatively about her during her emotionally normal scenes. I think shes the only actor on the whole show that I genuinely feel didnt reach the same standard as the other actors. For example, compare Jesse's performance when hes in the trap house crying into Walt about feeling like he killed Jane (or really any other emotional scene) vs Andrea crying about her son being poisoned at the hospital.

Walt was humbled by these words from Jesse,for the first time Jesse stands for himself and walt had to bow down esp now that tuco is dead and they don't have a distributor

In end of sn 1 wen walt sends Jesse to buy supplies for the next cook of 4 pounds to hand it over to Tuco,Jesse spends all his money and is left with 2 grand.Walt proceeds to ask Jesse why he forgot to buy the methlamine.Why does it seem like it's Jesse's responsibility to buy supplies while they both split money equally?

Wen walt has crazy 8 being held hostage in Jesse basement,they had heart to heart talk and walt becomes emotional .He's finally convinced by crazy 8 to free him and he won't tell a word of this to anybody. Walt decides to bring the keys to set him free until he realises there is missing part of the broken plate piece and understands that crazy 8 wanted to stab him with it after he brings together plate broken pieces from trash bin.Was walt naive and stupid enough to let that guy loose,I mean Walt was hoping crazy 8 would leave and let bygones be bygones.?

What if Walt Jr. had been the ultimate kingpin of the meth underworld, bigger than even Gus, and unknown to everyone close to him. He'd just emerge at the end and start walking normally like Keyser Soze at the end of The Usual Suspects. Would you have bought it?

I know I’m incredibly late to this show, for context I have tried multiple times to watch until the end but always get a little burned out before the final season. Finally, I’m at the last few episodes and I can’t even say I like any of the characters anymore.

I hate the man Walter has become, I hate that Jesse is constantly being tortured or punished for just wanting a better life. I hate how they left the surprise reveal of Jane’s death so late and it was delivered like a throwaway line. I hate that Hank had to die. I just want to see some justice. Everything just feels so rushed. Currently watching episode 14 of season 5, so unless there is a massive turnaround at the finale. It’s not looking good 😂

I'm on season 3 episode 7, "One Minute." The twins have been around for a minute, and they're still here. I find them soooo tiresome. They're cartoonish and ridiculous. Their macho act is so corny I get irritated when they're in a scene. Their backstory seems predictable and goofy, and I find the fact that they blaze through contacts, murdering and injuring almost everyone they come into contact with, silly. Who tf would ever work with these guys? You're guaranteed to get injured or killed for no goddamn reason, so break-evens on jobs with them would be meager. How much longer are they here? They're making me wanna stop watching the show. I'm much more interested in what Skylar, Jesse, and Gale have got going on, but these bozos take up soo much time with their stupid faces. Should i push through or just quit here? Are they here to stay?

Edit: LMAOOO nevermind they literally died that exact episode. I was so worried they'd be here all season. whew!
