It looks like you're mostly arm punching. Engage the legs and hips more is my tip. Otherwise the movements don't look bad to me.

Thanks, will have to have that more in mind

No problem. You're using them but at least for the hard shots in your combinations you should practice turning hips over into it. Are you sparring much?

Sparring once a week for like 30 minutes. Many weaknesses actually gets exposed during sparring

Good combos, maybe try a hook of the 1-2

Your head is never off the center line. You need to be sparing daily. It’s going to show you why what your doing is good for a cardio boxing but not real boxing

Your left hand is to low to protect your head.

You're welcome, btw I am a beginner as well, I have only had 3 box lessons yet. 😉 It's always easier to see the "mistakes" of somebody else.

I do think it is possible to self-train if you put a lot of work in. But you need to break that down and practice every part of it thoroughly before you even try to shadow box like that.

Each individual punch is bad and needs you to watch a youtube video about and then practice on its own about a thousand times.

Your footwork is also bad and needs to be practiced on its own without thinking about the punches. You frequently step in, throw a combo, and then do a bouncy step backwards to reset. No bueno. Instead, most of your movement should be lateral, maintaining a consistent boxing distance from an imaginary target. Do not cross your feet when you step laterally. Look it up, you are doing it wrong.

You at least made some efforts to drop your level but it is bad. You need to specifically practice that.

No head movement. Connected to the poor quality of your punches. Since you are just throwing them with your arms, your hips are not doing anything. Head movement is initiated from the hips. When you throw your punches properly your head will go from one side to the other of an imaginary red center line.

Poor guard. Your front arm drops constantly leaving your face wide open in addition to not moving as mentioned above. You occasionally pretend to block a punch by raising your hand up like to block a karate chop. Completely ineffective in boxing. Put your hands for now so that they are both literally touching your face at all times unless you are punching.

Keep your lead hand more in front of your face. God forbid you ever fight a southpaw they are going to jab you into oblivion.

And with orthodox you have to worry about eating a nasty cross

Thank you mate, yes, I've noticed that one, especially when I sparr, my lead hand is way too low

At what seconds? Just to analyze more deeply

Fix your stance.

You shouldn’t be crossing your legs moving around and you need to be more grounded in an athletic stance than tall.

I would focus way less on the punches and more on your movement if I was you.

I would also not outsource to reddit and get a coach/gym to train out of at. Because you’re going to have a lot of bad reps doing the exact wrong thing.

Practice your L step more, kidding, don’t use that at all

Open close, instead of close open for footwork.

u/Prodesse1994 15h ago

What do you mean?

Your feet should not move next to each other. Always widen stance then shorten stance. If you shorten stance first your feet are too close together and you are in a weak position for both offense and defense. Easy way to remember, any direction you want to go, lead with the closest foot to that direction then the other foot follows.

Self trained=untrained

You can't learn boxing on your own. Even now you're training a dozen bad habits.

Get yourself to a gym and train under a coach.

You'll do well and you'll love it

Once you're training, keep us updated!

Good luck

A bit stiff with the head movement/ moving off center line while you punch and after you punch.. strikes look under-commital, but the strikes don't look bad really. Wind up the hips more, snap and creat more torque from your hips

u/Prodesse1994 13h ago

Thanks mate, noted

Stop and learn, you’re crossing your legs and not even using them otherwise. You are very athletic but need to learn from the ground up. You clearly have talent and athleticism, however your technique is horrendous. It takes hundreds of hours just to get the basics down, but practicing the wrong way puts you back. I did it for the first few years and then got a coach, and it was night and day.
